Amber Cove’s port pool area is fantastic with a gorgeous pool and a cool bar up high on the hill. Great view. Hope you get to enjoy it sometime. I think in the DR the shirt sign means no tank tops for men in restaurants, they need to have sleeves on shirts. Also women need tops over swimsuits, not just shorts or waist wraps. That was our past experience at All inclusive resorts in Punta Cana.
We've enjoyed Amber Cove quite a few times. I believe we were one of the very first ships to port into the "brand new" Amber Cove back in 2015, ha ha... good times!! :D
MILWAUKEE???? Of course, it's a BEER house! Still, I love that there's a Milwaukee at that resort!! The bus tour guy was VERY enthusiastic!! I loved when you listed all the things that the DR was known for...and it repeated so many of them. I agree; the music at the parties can sometimes literally blow your eardrums right out. God Bless!
Oh that snickers pound cake looked sooo good. I will have to order that in April….Love to watch your videos they are so upbeat even with some negative events you encounter🚢😊
I am with you, Jay I’m trying to justify the cost of your private beach pool outing. You’ve been to nicer places than this one for a lot less cost. And Dee, I’m sorry you didn’t get any snorkeling in. 😢 The glow party look like a lot of fun, but very noisy!
Thanks for trying to show options. I probably wouldn't pay $60 to sit at a resort when I am on a cruise, so it baffles me how they have a $159 price tag. Looked like a good time, but as a solo traveler there is no way I'm taking off my rashguard to get in the pool...I'd be burnt in about 30 minutes! 🤣

Good morning. Question: How do you determine which beach or beach club/resort will be visited on a ship excursion before booking it? The vast majority of the time, I don't see a name or location. We're looking to start trying out the beach excursions directly and not just as a quick stop add on to other excursions.
A lot of times, the cruise line doesn’t specify and they can change the location depending on wherever they want to go that day. This particular excursion mentioned Emotions Resort in the description, which was the only way we knew, hah.
Not to be too negative but I'd never pay $159 to go to a cold pool, and a non snorkel ocean beach and bad steak. Looks like you guys make the best of every adventure
Was suppose to go to Puerto Plata in December on NCL Getaway. They said it was too windy which seems and looked like BULL to me, got a 10 dollar refund check later after being refused anything at first but seems like a scam to me. Then we were going to the NCL private island Great Stirrup Cay to replace Dominion Republic but it was too windy to go there too, don't think they even tried. Will try another company next time.
We had issues on Escape earlier in January....weather had them cancel Puerto Plata and their private island.....soooo bummed. They gave us the port fees back for the island and we went to Nassau for like 4 hours....not the same at all

Dee i do not think u realize how many of us r inspired by your style ... love love love the swim suit bottoms ... my sister has bought many of them. she wears them under her sundresses. says she feels modest n covered w them ...u know when the wind blows

i hated the escape thats crazy the glow party was in spice so small and it sucked but had fun still escape worse ship i been on layout and all breakaway and joy better and the sky

Yes the Escape Glow Party was amazing!!!! Just went on the Escape in January. The cruise director staff were amazing overall!!!!

It is! NCL seems to get bumped over there if there are too many ships at the other dock though.

Which ship do you guys prefer? Encore or Escape?
Two totally different classes that can’t really be properly compared, I’d say. Escape for a calmer time, Encore for go karts and bells and whistles.

we did that on our cruise. Worst experience ever. Bird droppings in the food, poor service, food disgusting.
In November Puerto Plata is rain, rain, rain, mud, flooded airport, worst all-inclusive we've ever been to. And dirtiest Beach.
