Thank you for sharing your nasturtium video with us. I have grown nasturtium a few times but I was unable to get them to produce flowers. I followed instructions to not water too much because nasturtiums are drought tolerant. I gave them full sun and partial shade but still no blooms. I planted them in not so fertile soil as directed because they can thrive in any type soil. I was directed not to fertilize them because they didn't need nutrients like that! I'm taking the steps from your video and incorporating them into trying to grow nasturtiums again this season. 😊. Extremely grateful for your channel. Have an amazing day!💕
Sorry to hear that. Looks like you did everything correctly, not sure what went wrong. It it true that they don’t need fertilizer, but often that means nitrogen rich fertilizers which help grow foliage and not flowers. Sometimes a boost of phosphorous (bone meal) helps with the blooming. I also suggest to try new varieties. Hope you will have a better result this time. Happy growing and thank you so much for sharing!
I’ve been looking at a lot of videos on growing nasturtiums, this is the only one that shows the progression and when I can expect blooms and what they look like 😂 TY
Thank you for sharing such useful videos and answering questions. I was able to start my outdoor garden with a few vegetables and flowers because of your channel. Thank you so so much.
That is awesome. Love to hear inspiring comments like this, really appreciate sharing your experience.💚Happy gardening and thank you so much for your comment!😊
I harvested my first spinach leaves yesterday with the help of your spinach video. :) I am so happy. I will look into planting nasturtiums now. Thank you.
Love the black tote with lid idea to keep potting mix tidy and dry instead of open bags of unused growing media getting wet from rain and infested with garden roaches. Do you have a weblink to buy the black tote?
Yes, it is very helpful in keeping the soil clean. I use a 27 gallon for my soil www.homedepot.com/p/HDX-27-Gal-Tough-Storage-Tote-in-Black-with-Yellow-Lid-HDX27GONLINE-5/205978361. Thanks.
I don't have big problems with slugs but have tried putting a shallow bowl of beer next to plants and that will catch them. hope this helps and thank you for visiting!
Thank you for your excellent channel. Just a quick question, after you collect the seeds do you remove the whole plant and start the process all over again the following year or does the plant produce flowers again the second year? Cheers from Australia
There may be few varieties that are perennial, but nasturtiums are considered annuals meaning you have to start every year. I grow them as annuals too. So glad you enjoy the channel. Thank you so much for watching from Australia and for your comment. Cheers😊👋
@@suz9590 so easy to keep the seeds for the following year also. Just pick them when they form a full seed bud and turning brown. I never buy anymore, I use from the previous year.
I was following you for a while and I thought that I would be able to start planting vegetables and flowers but I didn’t know if my weather is going to be too hot. I live in Dallas Tx. I will appreciate your advice what
Not sure I understand your question, but I am in California and share almost same weather as yours in TX. So you should be able to grow same vegetables and flowers in my videos if you choose the right growing climate for each. I tried to include the required temperature for different plant for you to follow. Hope this helps and thank you so much for your comment!
@@TowardGarden Thank you. I would also like to add that like one of the other commenters, I have had absolutely no luck growing nasturtiums. You mentioned to her that phosphorus may help, and I'm going to try it! Certainly can't hurt considering my previous results. So, double thanks! 🙂
They spread easily, so you may consider the spacing with other vegetables. But they will help with pest control by attracting bugs away from your vegetables. Happy growing and thanks for visiting!
I got it from my local garden center but here are few online options: wildwood.express/en-us/products/cs-nasturtium-summer-charm and blakelyfeed.com/products/cornucopia-nasturtium-summer-c-15047 . This mix is very similar too www.superseeds.com/products/jewel-mix-nasturtium . Happy growing and thank you for getting in touch!
It depends on how shallow the soil is. I have grown nasturtium in shallow containers of about 6" (15cm), so if the soil can provide 6" of good growing bed, i think it is possible. Just give it a try, sometime you get surprised how plant grow against the norms and thrive. Happy growing and thanks for getting in touch!

Great video, will plant today in pots. I am planning to leave them indoor so they begin to germinate already (my zone is 8a) and it is April.

Did you have to use the 1/4" drill bit to make more holes? If so, how many?@@TowardGarden

It appears the 14" containers are producing bigger leaves, right?

Hi why did you put the stick in the pot ?
Hi, it is just a label so I remember what is planted. Thank you for visiting!
Never had nasturtium leaves before. Can they replace lettuce in a salad or will that be too spicy?
Leaves have a tangy, and peppery taste, but try the flowers, they are tasty in salads. Thanks for visiting!
