- Southwest Flight 4664
San Francisco Intl to Portland Intl
Boeing 737-8Max N8713M
Seat 7A
October 1 2017
I'm trying out new commentary subtitles! Let me know if they are any good.
This plane was delivered on Sep. 30, 2017, exactly one day before this flight.
Fun fact: Our pilot for the flight is on instagram: " herbjacksonjr "
Thanks for capturing my flight aka The Captain of flight 4664
Thanks for giving us a great flight to capture!
How does the Max compare to the other 737's? Can you tell difference?
The Max provides a quieter engine, AKA the CFM Leap-1B, unlike the other 737's, which use the CFM56-7B, the cabin is more modern than the older models, doesn't have the underbelly landing lights, slightly taller nose-gear, a new APU, and advanced winglets.
Nice landing
@@imjustaboiwitharocketlaunc6066 Each pilot flies a leg. Captain flies one and the FO flies the other. Depends on who's turn it was as to who landed. The PF (pilot flying) is handling the controls while (PNF) not flying handle radios-calls with atc and nav systems etc.b.
The timing of that trip was perfect with the sunset.
I don’t care about negative publicity or what anyone else says about the 737 max. Im excited and really can’t wait until they are back in service. I love the 737 and hope to fly on the Max soon
Southwest congras on your new Boeing 737800 max
That engine sounds straight up AWESOME if you ask me!
AmericaWest90 not at full throttle. The high pitch noise sounds awful
i like the buzzers more, this one just squeals
I liked this a lot. You did a very good job at filming this.
I still hear the rumble noise during climb. Honestly, that’s the best engine sound that I have heard.
Love your video. Felt like I was in that seat myself. Absolutely marvel at the new generation of aircraft. So smooth and silent. The last flight I took was on a Single Otter! That is a wonderful experience in itself. Anyway, the massive torque of those engines must feel great as well. Thanks!
Carl
Power was reduced until passing the coastline for two reasons: noise abatement, and because of the 250-Knott speed restriction below 10,000 feet.
Ok
250 knot restriction doesnt halt the climb.
23:00 Amazing view! I love Boeing aircraft and I love Southwest.
If it's not Boeing, I'm not going!
Nice video. Would offer a suggestion, especially as you lose daylight and get into twilight lighting. If your camera has a manual focus mode, instead of autofocus, use this during low light periods. Focus on the winglet, and leave things alone. This will help eliminate the auto focus hunting for something to focus on.
Look forward to my own ride on the Max 8.
Woa haha I didn't even think of switching the camera modes.
Enjoy your flight!
What a great view...engine, wing, coast...beautiful.
Great video thanks for sharing. Such a beautiful aircraft. I love to fly southwest.
Southwest Airlines is an awesome airline they are so nice
Titan Time - and competent. Few are as safe
ikr
Beautiful aircraft,I can't wait to try one out, great video and superb photography!
Nice video. You picked the correct side of the plane to sit in.
I went to SFO for my 14th birthday and the whole week was Fog-less it was amazing!
I like the sub titles but need a bit more time to read them. Good to have them as we know where you are etc. I like it and your videos. Good job and thanks for sharing.
I wish I could give this video 100 thumbs up. Too bad you missed a view of Mt. Hood. Mahalo from Hawai'i.
Seat 7A lol makes me think of a song but in all seriousness I can't wait to work for southwest as a flight attendant I love their open seat policy very much. Their new max plane is awesome and I am hoping I get to ride in on when we go to Florida in april
Is it just me... or does that engine sound like a little GE 90 on startup?
makes me think of when I was on the 777200LR I remember the really loud rumble
Gotta love the flight attendants comment.when he said and stuff..& and stuff???.id love to fly that jet myself.nice inside.
I love how the gate agent announces this, but in 2021, they try to make it sound like an 800 because people get scared to fly this plane!
Need more videos just like this!
I like the subtitles. Keep em.
I liked the sub titles. I used to fly into San-Fran to play chess flight number 1 we were in a holding pattern above the clouds, until we could land, I thought that was neat. flight number 2 we were in a holding pattern below the clouds for about 20 minutes or so no clouds we got to take a tour of San-Fran area till we were cleard to land
beautiful plane love southwest and love 737 max 8
Don't worry... the employees are being corrected to properly call the model the Boeing 737 MAX 8. They're just so excited over the new plane!!!
never heard of a MAX 800 before...
The traffic above you was probably out of OAK, heading down the coast on a NUEVO EIGHT departure.
I like that!!! Great plane 737 MAX!
Wow! What a beauty!!!
Cool, this same exact 737max plane visited Jamaica earlier this year
Great video quality. What did you use to record this?
Wow! What a neat aircraft!
18:15 Wildfires aren't a surprise to me unless they're super close to Fresno, California. That's the city I live nearby.
What a difference a year makes- from “Inaugural flight” (sort of) to GROUNDED.
Not as quiet as the C-series, but overall a big improvement over the noisy -800...
Fantastic...... now "focus" 😆
Awesome plane!
If I may add some commentary as well, the captions kind of detract from the film and just generally feel annoying. Maybe a clip or two at the beginning or end with notes would be more efficient?
The range is so huge, it can go nonstop from New York to Anchorage or even London.
glad you lived through this
They reduce power at climbout for noise abatement
When you do a southwest trip again
No way. The max came to PDX? I can't believe it. Can't believe I missed it landing.
Bernie Sanders Sorry about the election.
Hopefully these babies will be flying again
There is never enough places to sit when your waiting on your flight. Its like being in Jail, they don't want you to be comfortable. Then if you are on Southwest and you are a "C" boarding pass, it like you committed a felony.I even got yelled at because I got in the" B" line. She said your not a "B", go back and sit down and wait until the "C"s are called. Gave me a nasty lecture like it was some kind of fraternity and I was low class C. So soon as I sat down She Hollers C-1 through C-15 now boarding. I said what was the point of that? She said you are not an A or B, but a C. C's always board last. Then she said don't very try and pull a fast one like that again. Reminds me of the Soup Nazi.
Nice subtitles
Terrible, he talks too much. The subtitles every 2 seconds kept me from enjoying the video itself
LAX Aviation Quit complaining.
AWESOME
Hear that buzzsaw!! 16:50
They metioned European destinations. *possibilities*
Did you keep the shades?
They were too stylish to just leave behind!
i wish they could serve actual food for purchase on southwest
Southwest flights are good
19:22 why u gotta steal my SWA meals man?
whats the max 8 engines that are used
CFM leap 1b
Who else watches takeoff videos before they're about to fly?
I heard on our local news that SW airlines stopped serving peanuts because of a lack of interest, and to save money. Hmm, guess they changed their minds.

I find the subtitles to be a bit annoying and unnecessary, although others do like them. Why not use the YT subtitles on/off function and give us the choice to see them or not?
3:02 “ *saftey* card”
To bad nappa valley Had a lot of wineries that caught on fire If you were flying over it you see mostly black ground
Imo these engines do not fit a 737. I’m just too used to the awesome CFM56’s. Plus the high pitched noise is absolute GARBAGE. That is the most unsatisfying thing ever. And therefore I much prefer the 737-300 and 737-500
Doubly so in the light of the scam that Boeing ran on all the Airlines and causing all those deaths, Hope they get Sued by the Family's of all the People Killed...
Come on. Nobody looks outside anymore. I get the stink eye if I leave the shade up.
Subtitles are okay, the fact that you had to point out every little obvious thing was annoying. I mean “the clouds are multiplying” “it got sunny” well no shit it’s been sunny since the start of the video. Also how you had to point out that you couldn’t hear the captain every time he would make an announcement is unnecessary. We got it the first 10 times. Just point out the key things to the flight and it’ll be good. Go to Simply Aviation’s channel and watch their videos for pointers.
LAX Aviation oh yeah, and you can swipe down from the left corner, or just click the RUclips logo to not watch the video, Incase you didn’t know that.

Don't drink, plz, or don't smoke something, plz.
Wot?
Stop complaining! Babies cry and we could here the announcements just fine.
lol
Alaska is nicer.
you talks too much.
The subtitles are almost as annoying as those screeching kids.
Southwest need different planes and they would make more money
Amon Shegog , You know nothing about aircraft or Southwest Airlines !
willard schoeffling y u say that?
What a stupid thing to write! Obviously...you want people to call you and idiot. I'll do it.
I assume you're new to WN
Bruh, Southwest generates a lot of fucking revenue. Among the highest in the industry.
Boeing 👎👎👎👎. But Airbus 👍👍👍👍👍
LordOfLolli I like em both, but Boeing better
LordOfLolli Boeing leads aviation, without Boeing airbus wouldn’t be anything.
LordOfLolli Airbus is falling apart, their only good planes are the A350, 320, and the 330, Boeing bests are the 777, 737, 787, and the 777x will kick ass too
Nick Gerz many cargo airlines like UPS are ordering more of them,
