Hello from Singapore 🇸🇬 ❤... I love watching your videos, it's remind me of my late father who's passed away at 96 yrs old. May God bless your family with good health and happiness.
That's my heart, as well. I've always had a heart towards the elderly, from the time I was a child. I took care of the elderly all of my adult life. I'm retired now, and I miss taking care of them so much. Lord bless you for all you've done for these precious people. ❤
I'm not sure he is actually hungry. I don't have a ton of elderly care experience, but I've seen when the memory loss kicks in, they can't remember when they last ate so they think they are hungry all the time.
This disease really is horrible, the videos of him last year to this year the decline is striking. You’re an amazing son to care for him the way you do, and he must have lived a wonderful life to deserve children who care for him so lovingly ❤️ god bless your family Dan ❤️❤️
" Where are you going to bury me."Awww..God Bless him. You and your Dad certainly share the same sense of humor. His asking you if your okay is so heartwarming. He's a sweetheart!❤😊
Just subscribed a couple days ago after seeing your videos pop up in my feed ocassionaly but didn't pay much attention to them at the time. So glad I set the camera phone up for a 20-minute conversation with my 95-year old dad before he passed back in 2013. His meds clouded his memory that day but the conversation was priceless. It's a great thing you're doing to bring awareness to this disease. What a great human being your dad is. Such a good natured gentle soul!
Daddy used to ask me where he’d be buried. My mother had passed in 2009 and until he died he missed her. I’d take him to the cemetery when he was able. But there were days when he insisted he was to be buried in his hometown. I’d remind him where she was buried. He’d say, “Well I want to be buried with my Susie.” I reassured him that he would. Dementia is like time travel for them. It’s like your Dad thinking he’s in Australia. The way our brains work is still unknown to a huge degree. But truth, diversion and HUMOR helps! When Dad would tell me I had hidden or stolen his wallet I sometimes would say yeah, well I had to go to the liquor store. He’s stew for a second and the he’d say, “Don’t go late at night. After midnight the only people out are drunks and musicians.”
Dementia tends to remove all restraints and many dementia patients become physically and emotionally abusive. They lack the control that keeps their real personalities hidden. That abusive behavior is the real person behind the facade. That’s how I know you have one of the sweetest, most caring pop in the world. Sometimes a little frustrated, a little worried for his family, but never unkind. These are the people we wish we could keep forever. You are so fortunate, and so is your pop.
Absolutely! When I hear (rather; See 👀) G. pa is having a rough day, it always amazes me just how well he gets through it. He is never abusive, never mean spirited. You said, what I think all the time, and said it perfectly. ❤❤
Angry abusive behavior is sometimes a chemical imbalance or vitamin deficiencies. Even just B 12 Vitamin deficiency can cause anger, paranoia, delusions and even full blown psychosis.
I take care of my uncle who has dementia and last week he was on a kick of where he was going to be buried and was worried that it wasn't going to be next to my aunt. This conversation went on and off for two days. Bless all Dementia people
