It’s a hard journey. My daughter told me my family wondered how long I thought I could handle the stress caring for them alone. Everything the Salingers experience, I can testify as a witness 1000%. Hats off to the children.
Oh my God, how does it feel to have someone to care about you like he cares about his wife. This man is so genuine in caring about his entire family no matter what the situation is. It gives me hope. This is how men used to care of their families. Some still do and I’m happy for them. His family loves him and he loves them. 🙏🏾☮️❤

Hi Dan, When you said, "You have no idea how much you are helping right now. You are a giant help, Dad." it really struck me. I've been watching your journey and that statement could not be more true. Witnessing Grandpa and your family has made me laugh, cry, and think about what it means to be a family and cherish those around us. Thank you for sharing your life with us
Dad s you tube views generating moneys. Is this not a financial abuse as dad has not have capacity to make wise decisions due to his illness. And his behaviour always shows that he is not happy living there. He wants his house. Car ,he needs to be in control
Even though he has dementia, his true character shines through. Grampa is always concerned about paying his bills and how he is going to help his family. He was brought up right, and he did the same for his children. He never says, who's going to give me money, who's going to pay my bills, who's going to take care of me and my family. We could all learn from this man, he obviously believed in taking care of his own, not begging for handouts.
Your Dad is such a respectful man. His concern about your mom even though they've been divorced for decades is admirable. I definitely get a sense of the man he's been over the years ❤

I’m trying to learn from Dan (my husband’s name, too) about dealing with this terrible condition and what it does to the person you love. I’m not very patient and Dan’s treatment of Ed is something I strive to emulate. Thanks, Dan, for teaching me about patience. I only hope I do half as well as you.
Nancy you can do this. It's hard to watch your loved one struggle with dementia. You need to be sure to take time out for yourself also. The fact your husband has someone that loves him caring for him already puts him in a very blessed place.
Dan is doing great but even he and Danielle mention that they were not as patient in early videos. It took time. They also have a village of RESPONSIBLE family adults to care for Ed TOGETHER. So, if you’re the primary 24/7 caregiver, you need support because elder care is hard. Keep in mind your patience would grow too if America was watching 😉
