Love the technology, it would be fun to drive; however, for a starting price estimated to be around $80,000 few families will be able to afford this technology.
80.000$ is sheap if compare to the other car brands. And also this one is a Volvo. New cars is for the rich and good people whos priority is to have the best.
2 cameras and 7 radar sensors alone would be an absolute blocker from purchasing the car. The fact that all the data might end up with a Chinese company does not make it better, but hey if this doesn’t bother you, I hope this car fits your needs
@@Noine14159145 Why chinese company? Does Volvo have ties with or using tech/production from chinese companies for this vehicle? Or you mean the software?
@@justfactual Volvo is owned by a Chinese company „the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group“ just like polestar, lotus and many more. So, yeah Hardware and Software and the software is the more troubling part in my book
Perfect $100,000 suv for my country side shack without indoor plumbing or electricity. Volvo really considered us third world who benefit from external generators.
In California last summer we were asked not to charge our electric cars. Because of this, I'm not comfortable with getting an all electric. But this suv is a beauty!
We were advised to not charge cars during 3 hours of the day at maximum speed. That is really not that same. Also if you are a EV owner you would really know not to charge during peak hours anyways. Most people charge at night as energy costs are lowest then. (And you are actually home)
Im in CA, and CA depends on you to charge off the grid for PROFIT, now it might be higher to charge, but I highly doubt anyone in an official complicity said not to charge unless it was specific high daytime use etc.............
Volvo's sport key fob is the best it's tiny, it's small enough that i can keep it zipped up in my wallet and never take it out, don't have to worry about nfc or dead phone battery. 7:06 your phone as the key is not a bright idea
Nice, there are videos after videos about this car, even at a showroom and no one gets to drive it. Just how much money volvo spend...... yes, I am looking at you tesla, spend some already.
Polestar is a sports brand. They've been Volvo's sports skunk works since the 1990s but now are their own brand. Volvo is a more comfort oriented car. The Polestar 3 is the counterpart to this car and it only comes in a 5 seater, has a much lower roofline and different styled exterior. It also will have a much sportier drive than the EX90.
@@equieh It's a spinoff of Volvo and Volvo practically makes Polestar's cars. These two companies are integrated although Polestar is looking for more distinction and distance from Volvo in the future. For now, they're very integrated.
@@chonghongyi5935 It's more like Audi and Porsche. They have similar prices unlike Toyota and Lexus where Lexus is more expensive and more luxurious than Toyota. Neither Volvo or Polestar are more expensive or luxurious than each other though Polestar will have models that are priced higher than any Volvo.

Other fully electric suvs are not $50,000

It's longer AND shorter?
Shorter as in height, not length.
But not as wide
A car is not a horse, he should have said lower. 🍺
Considering switching from Model X to this. My use case: towing a caravan. Hope for Volvo to be even more efficient!
Wouldn’t a Rivian be a better choice?

i wonder what guarantee new electric cars have regarding the battery
Great question

3 or 4 tons??
10 tons.
Any word on Volvo USA adopting NACS? I'd happily leave Tesla but wouldn't give up the supercharger network.

im curious. who asked you not to?
That's a lie.

Many EVs on the market allow using your phone as a key. What's the issue?
I want one so bad. So so so so bad
New ev every year? they announced this over a year ago lol
Descent size of family SUV! But way too expensive, only few can afford it and doesn’t qualify for EV incentives
It does? It's built in South Carolina?
Give me this in an S90 Body and We got a deal.
Swedish? Now owned by Zhejiang Geely Holding Group from China.
So what
The car was still designed in Sweden. Also that was literally 10 years ago.
"now"

The vertical lights in the back look like a tasteless afterthought
They are a Volvo design feature since the 70s!?!??!!
Someone who clearly didn't think before commenting
I know EU regulations force them to, but if Volvo is all-EV, how is that any different from their Polestar brand?
Because it's another brand.
Your question is similar to "is there any different between Toyota and Lexus".

Will it support Apple Car Play? 80% of people won't buy a car without it!
answered at 7 mins. Thanks
You car purchase depends on the fruit phone that you have? 😅😅
What do you use for your navigation? Apple Maps? 😅😅
Lol, Teslas literally don't support Carplay and Android Auto but people still buy them anyway
As I know
EX90 Will be the first Volvos Wireless Apple CarPlay
