My Swedish husband and I agree that Philippines has something that makes you love or addicted to her, despite it is not the most orderly country. I think its the weather, very social people, resilient people, relax attitude of people and less materialistic mindset of people compared to countries it is compared to. Even the organized chaos, you will end up appreciating it too. Philippines offers high quality of life, and if you are above middle income, then higher standard of living too. Here in Scandinavia, it is high standard of living but low quality of life. We are dying to live there again.
Same here in Australia high standard living, a lot of pressure and stress, in the Philippines despite of so many disaster and hard life still people are able to smile and sharing is always there .but off course if your are foreigner before you moved to other places you have to adjust to everything don't expect them to adjust for you ! 👍😊

Great video! Great interview. She has a real slice of paradise. She was nice to share so much information. She has great design taste. Did she work as an architect? She created different garden 'rooms' and nice big porches as people spend most time outside. And I love that she has included the outside garden as part of the inside with the big open windows and glass doors. It makes her house look even bigger. She must have worked in the arts, did she say something to do with photography. It is like a 5 star hotel, so relaxing. And it is not bad, for the money she spent, as in any other country it would be over million dollars. Her great design makes it look a lot more expensive. She can still put solar panels, some people put them on the ground and she can conceal them with plantings of flowering bushes. She can start with a few panels and then slowly add to it. India is building a big plant to produce solar panels so they should get cheaper. And even a water tank or two would not be too much of a problem, she can put it in the back of her property on a separate structure. Best wishes to her.
She's Scandinavian, good design is in her blood! We sometimes take for granted about the level of comfort + design aesthetic we have in Scandinavia, then we travel even within Europe and we see the stark difference. Even "cheap" stores like Nille in Norway does better styling than super rich SM. See for yourself. The Philippines' many airports are a testament to Filipinos lack of design aesthetic.

Just to make sure foreigners do not misunderstand. Under Philippine Laws only Filipinos and the Filipino spouses of Foreigners are allowed to own land. This is to ensure that our land do not become too expensive for us Filipinos due to the higher purchasing power of most foreign money. As an alternative, foreigners should have a good licensed real estate broker draw them up a long term lease for the land from 50 to 99 years. That is allowed under our constitution.
@@Top5_Pilipinas The video said 50yrs lease is not allowed under our constitution, u need to be a corporation to get in for 50yrs lease. If u are individual being u can only lease up to 25yrs only and it depends it has a extension.

I agree with you
Beautiful home. Great to see westerners loving the country.
I agree thank you for your hospitality
Just to make sure foreigners do not misunderstand. Under Philippine Laws only Filipinos and the Filipino spouses of Foreigners are allowed to own land. This is to ensure that our land do not become too expensive for us Filipinos due to the higher purchasing power of most foreign money. As an alternative, foreigners should have a good licensed real estate broker draw them up a long term lease for the land from 50 to 99 years. That is allowed under our constitution.
She has a lawyer who advises her on land ownership.
Thank you for additional information
she did say 25 yrs lease + 25 yrs extension
@@Top5_Pilipinas The video said 50yrs lease is not allowed under our constitution, u need to be a corporation to get in for 50yrs lease. If u are individual being u can only lease up to 25yrs only and it depends it has a extension.
@@francisflora3406 you just repeated what i said. never mentioned 50.
Hello..her house is beautiful..shes got good taste.👍😉🗾🏝
True 👍
I hope you could do more videos like this with more time on touring the properties with the owners so they explain more about why they designed their properties the way it is. Just a suggestion. And maybe others may not like it. Do what you like to do. Your English is become more fluent! Well done! I wish I could pick up a second language like that so fast. I have a hard time trying to learn one.
It is great that you are making lots of friends.
Thank you, Dan, for your support and kind words. I will definitely make more videos like this in the future. And of course I will continue to study English

In some ways, living in a small town in Sweden is similar to slower pace Philippines, or small Australian town by the sea, easier to adopt than some may think. I know it from my own life experience. tack för trevlig samtal 😀

Wow, I was gonna ask what part of the Philippines this is, after she mentioned Dumaguete, I got excited. I am from Dumaguete originally. So glad she chose Dumaguete or Dauin. Several years ago before I immigrated to North America I had some distant relatives who got married to Swedish. Hoping they are still together at this time. :)
Yeah it's awesome place to live
She mentioned she lives in Dauin and goes to Dumaguete to shop!
Dumaguete is one place in our country (Philippines) which have been prepared and ready to accept retirees from all over the globe 🥰
