I highly recommend "Who framed Roger Rabbit"! Also from Robert Zemeckis and with Christopher Lloyd! You will love it!
If you remember from prior instances, every time the Delorean disappears it leaves a tire streak of flames (usually in the direction its traveling). So when Doc gets struck by lightning, he's not really "moving" per se (he's "hovering"), hence the fire-y streak that usually happens would have to be a different shape. And since he disappeared in place, the flames had to sorta be shown "stationary", hence the curly loopty-loop they did and it only looked like it was the number 99.
I think the curly trails imply that the DeLorean spun faster than 88, fulfilling the "movement" part of time travel.

Cool fact: They had NO intention on a 2nd or 3rd film in this trilogy. The first film left fans on such a cliffhanger that they decided to make a 2nd film after fans convinced them to.
They didn't decide, the studio told them they wanted sequels or they would get someone else to produce them, so they relented and did the sequels.
The funny part of the story was the "to be continued" at the end was added to the VHS home video release. Michael J. Fox rented the movie and was surprised by it,since noone told him.

it wasn't a 99 in the sky, it was a flame spiral. The idea was that the DeLorean was spinning when the time jump occurred, and so instead of the fire trails going in a straight line, they too spun after the big flash
The actor who played the dad, didn't get put in this one, he asked for a huge paycheck, so he was written out. Jennifer was a different actor. An earlier Steven Spielberg was Flight of the Navigator, a time travel movie.
This future is basically *80's* with a sci-fi twist. Try to imagine *30yrs* from now *2050's*
Another fun fact...Doc's shirt in 2015 predicts the finale movie.

Steven Spielberg was just the producer for these movies -- he lent his name to get them made. But all 3 movies are the creation of Robert Zemeckis (director) and his co-writer Bob Gale. They were a brilliant writing team for intricate plots like these.
Another fun fact...Biff died when he came back to 2015. It's in a deleted scene. That's why he appeared in such pain...he was fading out just like Marty at the dance in 1955.

They basically filmed part 2+3 at the same time, that's why they had the teaser ready for the end of this. Looking forward to seeing you finish off this trilogy. I see someone else mentioned, but not sure if you noticed they have a different Jennifer. The original actress couldn't come back I believe her mother was seriously ill.
Notice the newspaper Finally Cubs Win World Series. They actually got that right while filming this movie in 1986...... and Biff with the mature pile. A recurring thing in all three parts..
Just off by one year, the Cubs won in 2016 while in the movie it's 2015; and Miami (Marlins not Gators) is in the National League with the Cubs. Still pretty impressive.
They still haven't abolished lawyers yet. Dammit.
The reason Biff was in severe pain when he brought back the time machine was because he had changed the past and was now dead in the 2015 reality. There is a deleted scene of him fading away from existence and ultimately dying. Very confusing though to say the least.

@@Gravydog316it makes perfect sense. By changing the past Biff changed his own future. The director, Robert Zemekis, said he envisioned that Lorraine would have finally have had enough of Biff that she shot him sometime in the 90s
So in that timeline he wouldn't have lived to see 2015 so he would have faded away.
Correct Claudia Wells was the original Jennifer and Elizabeth Shue plays her in part II and III. Most people do not notice this.

My favorite movies ever since I was a little kid. I've seen them dozens of times, and could easily watch them a million more! Almost every time I watch them I pick up on a new little detail I missed before. These movies are amazing!

I remember watching Back to the Future 3 when I was a kid and when I learned that Emmett Brown had left the tike machine DeLorean inside a cave back in 1885 for his future self in 1955 to fix it to help get 1985 Marty back to his time period.
It made me realize that back in part 2 of Back to the Future.
At one time the te machine existed in the same Era of time in 3 different places close by.
There was the older time machine stuck.in a cave since 1885.
There was the 1st time machine at the clock tower waiting for Marty to drive it once lightening struck the clock tower so he could get back home.
And then there was the the time machine that Doc and Martu arrived in when they cane to the past together to get that magazine away from young Biff and later Doc was in the time machine and it got struck by lightning and he went back to year 1885.
So yes it blew my mind away that at one time 3 time machines existed at the exact same time...
Biff's Grandma is voiced by the director Robert Zemeckis himself!

@@tktopmovies Well actually that's only partly true. During the filming/production process, to get the timing and flow right, it's Zemeckis. But they swapped lines afterward for Thomas F. "Tom" Wilson (who plays Biff all ages - all timelines and states, Griff, and Buford the Mad Dog in Part III - so his voice acting skill is the one shown most in the skill) for him to do the voice of Biff's grandma, Gertrude Tannen. So the version, that sounds like a real female, here in the final product is actually also Tom Wilson.

24:20- they do that a lot to try to disguise the height difference between the actors. Christopher Lloyd is like a foot taller than Michael J Fox so it's a running joke. And from way at the start: they reshot the scene at the start because they recast Jennifer's character (honestly you were like the first ones not to notice in the reaction😁) The best part of the trilogy is it's rewatchability, because once you know the story you can catch all the little "ripple effect" changes to Hill Valley itself (Twin Pines Mall/Lone Pine Mall being the most obvious, but there's literally like 100+ from the Power of Love in the start of 1 through to the ending scene of 3 from all the things they changed.)
1.It's not often sequels hold up to the original. Thank you 1980s.
2.This one is the best of the bunch. The next one is inventive but I'm not really into the story.
3. Eric Stoltz was first offered the job of Marty. Thankfully we got the perfect guy for the part.
4. The tunnel at the end is the same one they used for "Who Framed Roger Rabbit".

The 2015 depicted here isn't really the result of serious thoughts about actual technological enhancements in the future. The filmmakers never intended to imagine seriously how the future could turn out. Instead, they put a lot of humor imagining it; the result was more an *ironic* statement about how everyone imagined the future in the optimistic Eighties. Absolutely brilliant.
I had a theory on how Biff used the DeLorean to go back in time. When he stole the car, he had possession of it for quite a while and eventually found the camcorder in the back seat, the one that Marty used to make the tape of Doc explaining how it works in the mall parking lot. When Biff finally returned it, it was right after he took it so it did not seem like it was gone for too long
There is a fan theory that suggests that Biff was obsessed with Calvin Klein ever since h3 was humiliated in 1955, and since he disappeared, got "close" to the McFlys to find out what was going on, especially when he saw later on that Marty looked exactly like Calvin.
Not really sure why that would be necessary though. The time display-thing is right in your face when you enter the car, he knew it was a time machine in advance and then all he had to do was drive it, which he wouldn't need to know in advance. He'd drive it regardless to get away from Doc & Marty and then poof, time travel.

The "99" was actually from the two fire trails that are left behind when the DeLorean is time traveling.
In this scene the DeLorean was somersaulting in the air while it was in time travel mode, so the tracks took on a curled appearance that resembled backward 9's.
Also, the car went 88 miles per hour due to the rotational motion.

Remember they didn’t predict 2015, they said they wanted to have fun with it because predicting the future often fails. In saying that some of this technology does now exist
Yay, you did part 2 today, yay! So now you see why I encouraged you to do the sequels sooner than later. Since the second movie is kind of draped over the first one, it's much more enjoyable when the first one is fresh in your mind. There I was watching part 2 in the theater in 1989 and absolutely kicking myself for not renting the first one right before seeing the second one. It had been four years since part 1 for me and I _knew_ I was missing a bunch of references to the first movie. So! Part 3 next?
Yeah, that 99 in the sky, I don't think it looked like they wanted it to. The idea was that those were the fire trails from the Delorean but the lightning strike made the car rotate before it was zapped to a different year. So those are the fire trails, but twisted.
One last little fun thing: In 2015, for the 30th anniversary of the first movie, Universal made a Jaws 19 trailer. Please go watch it, maybe react to it if you feel like it, but at least watch it. It's so cute that they did it and I thought it was really funny. It's only a minute and a half so if you're feeling it, just go to RUclips and type in "jaws 19 trailer" and it's on the Universal Pictures All-Access account.

No that first scene was mostly re-shot. They had no plans for sequels after the first movie. That is not even the same actress as Jennifer, the original was unavailable as her mother was ill and she was looking after her. They did however film 2 and 3 back to back.
actaully it is ironic. they made this as a stand alone movie and didn't actaully know they were ever going to make a sequel, this was done 4 years after the first one. the yfilimed 2 and 3 simultaneiously though.

I believe they actually made those shoes in 2015 to commemorate it, but not easy to find or cheap and probably not quite the same, lol. Nike actually made those for the movie. If you didn't notice, Michael J Fox also played his daughter Marlene.
No, they didn't film it straight through. The second and third movies were, but if you didn't notice, Jennifer was recast for the sequel.
You guys surmise that Biff wouldn't know how the time machine works that's why he went back to the date that was already programmed that they had just returned from 1955
The dinner table scene was groundbreaking because Marty is not only playing his older self he's playing his daughter all in the same picture
You have to remember for 1980s there's several scenes where you see best playing new and old Biff and Marty playing both him and his son or daughter in the same picture
it couldn't be, because Doc had already gone back and forth twice, it would have been cleared from the screen

Hey, great reaction, guys. I see most commenters here already provided some clarification for you regarding some statements you made. But regarding one particular comment you made earlier in this reaction where you were asking if Part 1 and Part were made at the same time, the answer is no. In fact, when Part 1 was made in 1985, the film-makers had no intention of making a Part 2, even though they included that crazy ending scene in Part 1 where Doc brought the time machine outside Marty's home and took Marty and Jennifer to the future with the flying car. That scene was just supposed to be a fun ending and nothing more. Bu the movie was so successful, that fans BEGGED for a continuation of the story, so the filmmakers decided to oblige the fans. Anyway, that's why Part 2 was made and released 4 years later in 1989.
Also, you would note that the actress who played Jennifer in Part 1 (Claudia Wells) was not the same actress who played the character in Part 2 (Elisabeth Shue). That's because the original actress (Claudia Wells) had to take care of her dying mother, so she couldn't do any film projects during that tough time for her and her family. And, the filmmakers have stated since then, that if they knew that they were going to make a Part 2, they wouldn't have included the Jennifer character in that final wild scene of Part 1 where she joined Marty in the DeLorean time-travel car with Doc. This is why the Jennifer character basically has almost no real substantial speaking lines or scenes in Part 2 --- she really wasn't anticipated in being there.
alternate 1985 Jennifer’s house has a crashed car in the driveway. the same car Jennifer’s dad is driving to pick her up after school in the first film
People often make fun of the interpretation of 2015, but they purposefully made it outlandish because they had no clue what 2015 would be like so they wanted to get creative. Hell they got a few stuff right like video chats, video multi-tasking and VR headsets, along with voice control.

The reason so many, including you, like the first (and third) film in this trilogy more than this one is because they have a subplot of romance and this second film does not. So people are really saying they prefer rom-coms with a little dash of time travel over pure sci-fi.
I have to disagree. 2 is my least favorite of the series, but it's not because of the romance subplot. I couldn't care less if a movie has a romance or not. I think the reason I like the other two better is because the script is a little tighter and more polished. There are various reasons for that, including actor changes and the fact that the writers never meant there to be a sequel. Not that I hate 2, I really like a lot of things in it. I just think the story was a bit more polished in the other movies.

The female stunt double was legit seriously injured there, she legit hit the concrete pillar and then fell to the ground, ouch. Fun fact, Biff was actually dying when he got back to 2015, because he changed the past. There was a deleted scene that showed his death I believe.

He faded away because it was said by director that Lorrine in 90s got tired of Buff shit and killed him. so old Buff faded away in 2015 when he came back
@@TheTitandog70 Whether he was killed or not, the future he returned to was not the same future he went back and created. So in his meddling, he would no longer exist in that world, and thus he faded while the alternate him existed.
Though technically... he never should have been able to take the DeLorean back to where Doc and Marty were,... unless their presence presented some kind of anchor keeping the world stable until they left.
No they didn't continue filming there was no intention of making a sequel let alone a trilogy but it became such a box office success. But because of the way it ended they had to use that for the second and they had to do something with Jennifer who is also played by a different actor but is not much in the movie
Did you notice that the Biff in the alternate 1985 is a LOT like Donald Trump.
They had no intention of a sequel. It took 4-5 years for them to film Parts 2 and 3 back-to-back. By then, Dawn Wells didn't come back because her mother was ill. That's why you have Elizabeth Shue ("Ali with an i" from Karate Kid and Cobra Kai) as Jennifer in the sequels. Also, Crispin Glover (George McFly) wanted Michael J Fox (Marty) type money for the sequels. He didn't get it. That's why you have Jeffrey Weissman as George in the sequels. They didn't want people to notice the new George which is why they made him float upside down in the future since the original footage was used to show Crispin Glover (as George) in the past. The original was my favorite movie of all time. Part 2 was a little too goofy for me- but it has grown on me through the years. Part 3 was terrific- but nothing compares to the brilliance of the original.

the 99, was not a number. the delorian accelerated to 88mph through the car spinning really fast so the trial looked like that.
also, something interesting. i didn't know this until i saw delected scenes later on. but the guy collecting money for the clock tower (the old dude who tells marty about betting on the cubbies) well there was a scene after that was cut where he was arguing with old biff about teh $300 for the car repair and how he had to clean up the manuer which was like a massive cleaning bill plus fixing the car. so yes, it was the same echannic he was arguing with in the scne where he argued over the 300 dollars earlier on.
also, you didn't opint it out per se, but when biff dissappeared/got erased from existance. it is becasmesomething happened to him inbetween 1985 and 2015. a documentry they said the wrtiers assuemd lorraine probably shot him at some point after taking all teh abuse, but nobody can really confrim it!
also, the scene wher they were wondering how marty got past the security> well it was becasue they had teh flying car and he came in from the roof, that is why the door to the roof was already open, that is how he came in. and in this time frame nobody would know that a flying car exists.
i also always enjoy joking about how when biff says "you stole my stuff" referring to the almanc. marty could have said "uh, no biff, wrong. I was in the future and bought the book with MY own money, that old guy that gave you the bok was you 60 years from now and he stole it from me therefore you stole MY stuff you jerk"

Hi guys, I do appreciate your effort when it comes to editing, however, it's safe to say that like other reaction RUclips channels, it's more enjoyable to see an unblurred version. And yes, I understand that copywrite issues are difficult to address. But it can be done, remember that while you're seeing a nice picture, unfortunately we are not. :( I even thought about unsubscribing, which is not what we both want. Just an open and honest comment. oh and sicne you guys are really young, something about the 80s scene, so the tv's in there with the buh bub bueef etc.. there was something called max headroom very briefly in the 80s where he talked like that and had those wierd TV imaages

all the star wars movies, and I recommend highly watrching them in theatrical release order so you can experince them the same way

and btw, before you watch part 3, pay attention to things you saw mentioned or shown in this movie you will see a lot of refrences.
and the creators of this movie were extermely detailed . like very very detailed.
so the 50s bar was also th 80s fitenss place the 80s cafe, in the next movie it will be in there but be something else you will catch it.
