Hey no I didn’t
For a song tutorial can you do like it used to be by rocket to the moon there isn’t really any tutorials out there and would be really grateful if you did
STOLEN ...!! Well let me school you marty . AC《 DC freely say they were influenced by the GREAT chuck berry choose ur wording better nxt time you comment upon STEALING " ..
I WILL SAY UR A ORSUM GUITARIST KEEP UP WOT UR DOIN ..
I still think you're the best teacher on the internet. Because you make it more simple. And slow it down. I love this Chuck Berry's licks are the most iconic ever that's what I think. What songs did they use the lick on? I know all musicians do that they call it borrowing. We are all influenced by the music we listen to of course it's going to come out in the music. It's pretty messed up on RUclips if you even did a cover song they will flag you if you're a partner I don't know if you're not I haven't done it in a while
Yes longer a flat maze. We were so amazed!.
Often imitated, never duplicated. Angus is my favorite guitarist of all time but Chuck Berry will always be the original king of rock and roll to me.
Just shows how innovative Chuck Berry was.
Marty's playing has gotten so good over the years, always had some of the best video tutorials ever. I'll always tune in to Marty and Justin.
Great to see THAT guitar play THOSE licks. Thanks so much Marty, keep going!
Who didn't steal a riff from Chuck Berry?
Influenced by..
@@bumfalumfacubalumfalussula8892 im sure he borrowed it from some one :)
Chuck stole that riff from Marty McFly, so it's ok to steal it back ;)
T-Bone Walker.
@@bumfalumfacubalumfalussula8892 he literally did with roll over beethoven 🤣🤣
Chuck Berry is easily the top 3 more important Rock Pioneers near Buddy Holly and Elvis for me! You can see his impact in everyone! Awesome work!
No doubt
Chuck berry is the king of rock and roll
Don't forget Scotty Moore :)
@@sprezzatura8755 True! Scotty was a well known guitarist for Elvis actually!
@@ST-xg3gy Indeed!
Angus has talked a lot about how big of an influence Chuck Berry was for him growing up
Good ol' Chuck. He inspired so many. Rock and Roll would not have been the same without him.
Thank you mean so much to me it’s because of you that I know how to play guitar,in just 2 months I learned so many songs and chords from you I truly can’t thank you enough we love you Marty please never stop being such an amazing teacher
You basically tought me how to play guitar.
Sky Morawe join the club
Same lol
And I'll teach you how to write basically.
Now who will teach you how to spell?....lol
Marty and Justin sandercoe!
Ok i don’t think Marty is getting enough credit he’s taught me everything I know on guitar to become a very advanced player but he never disappoints with a video keep on doin your thang man you helped me and plenty others
Absolutely essential rock and roll licks there. Thanks for breaking 'em down for us.
I definitely see the influence on Angus Young. That little rift leads right into the solo on Highway to Hell @5:20
You looked like you were having loads of fun at the intro. Brilliant. I for one will keep watching. Thanks Marty.
I'm quite good at going up and down scales but i'm definitely going to start trying to incorporate these double stops into my lead playing. I just want to say Marty that out of all your videos these blues type lick videos are my favorites. they're really helping me when i'm playing over jam tracks... just adding different phrasings and different flavors to what i'm doing... love it. keep these blues licks videos coming man pretty please with a fender strat on top!
Soloing sounds in a very rhythmic way with that great nuances. Awesome lesson. Thank you Marty, you're the best
The Rolling Stones early career was practically built on Chuck Berry riffs. 😊
Stephen Davis And Robert Johnson’s everything
You would have to ignore, Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Robert Johnson, Scotty Moore, Howlin' Wolf, John Lee Hooker ect... For your statement to be true.
@@buttereggmanandtheketones4868 Or...I could just say those were big influences too, couldn't I? (sigh).
You could've, but didn't. Perhaps you included them (by implication) with the use of the word practically. Chuck Berry was no doubt a big influence on the early and later sound, but it was never practically built on Chuck Berry. The Stones don't sound like Chuck Berry for this and a few other reasons.
@@buttereggmanandtheketones4868 You seem to have too much time on your hands, mate. Why not take up a hobby instead of trolling me?
The guitar riff of "Johnny B. Goode" is a note-for-note copy of "Ain't That Just Like a Woman", sung by Louis Jordan, played by guitarist Carl Hogan.

Great video as always!!!
Great vid again. Keep it up!!
Thanks again Marty! Great Lesson!
I don't think Angus Young kept any secrets about who he got his riffs from
Brilliant Marty thanks for the lesson
Thanks Marty youre a good teacher..
Seeing that Ang and Mal were born and raised on Chuck's music in the house through his older brother George's band The Easybeats... The boys couldn't help it.
Great Lesson! More of it!!
Awesome lesson Marty 🎸🤘
Nice lesson and that guitar sounds fantastic.
That new guitar sounds amazing!
Thanks for this one Marty it gives my neglected pinky a good workout 💪🤭😁 top content as always 👌
Thank you so much for this tips.
Hey Marty, thank you for the Chuck Berry Riff lesson. Greatly Appreciated!!!
Another top lesson Marty, the new Gibson sounds epic. Thank you.
Chuck Berry got his famous johnny B good lick form Carl D. Hogan was the guitarist Louis Jordan the lick can be heard on Louis Jordan's "Ain't That Just Like a Woman" recorded 13 years before Johnny B Good. The video can be found on youtube. Carl uses single notes to play it and Chuck used double stops.
Almost forgot enjoyed the video.
We know.. Respect. They don't wanna learn
From Leadbelly to Berry covers a whole heap of music
Shreddddding
I thought he was playing the Highway to Hell solo really quickly at the beginning 😂😂😂
Hey.. can you do a lesson on holy diver by dio please
Or gypsy thanks marty
Hephaestus holy diver !
Sweet technic lesson Marty, thank you for teaching me how to make my guitar scream today.
Blues riffs are one of my go to things when I grab my guitar, but I gotta start getting out of that that one up and down pentatonic box
Great lesson Marty. Really like your New Gibson guitar.
Ever hear of T-bone Walker, Charlie Christian or the saxophonists Colman Hawkins or Lester Young? As Chuck Berry himself once said, "there's nothing new under the sun.
May the Schwartz be with u
Nice good job Marty
Marty with that new guitar, you gotta do some Chuck Berry lessons. How about Roll Over Beethoven?
Great vidéo thank
Marty you should do Make you Mine by PUBLIC on acoustic!
A good lawyer would say "borrowed" not stole. One day Marty's 335 will be in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.
Dope !
how’s that saying? good artists copy, great artists steal...
"Imitation is the highest form of flattery." I think Mark Twain said that quote...
Honestly, nothing is new under the sun. Everyone is influenced by someone whether they realize it or not. That's the beauty of art, it no longer belongs to you once someone else experiences it. It then becomes apart of the cultural ethos.
Somebody has to be the first, all others take from it.
"Copy one person its stealing, copy many its research" - Santana
Very classic rock
Can you please do some more Billy Joel tutorials particularly a finger style You’re My Home lesson.
Marty deserves more hype than he has
Hey Marty! Think could you do a lesson on Black Pistol Fire - Lost Cause or Eastside Racket? Keep up the great work!
I love Chuck Berry!!
George Thorogood was once asked, Why don't you write songs? He answered, Why should I write any when Chuck Berry's already written them all? And on a side note, why the fuck would anybody dislike this?
@Marty Music
How about A Perfect Circle - Three Libras?
I’ve seen most of the chords for it on tab sites, but I would prefer if the master could teach it..
I'd say you're lovin that 335 way too much .... but so am I...
My western shirt with snap fasteners has made marks in my Gibson. Is this your new one or "It is what it is!"?
And Chuck got it from T-Bone Walker. He just added some drive and distortion to it.
Glad they didn’t swipe the ‘duck walk’ that went with Chuck’s licks. Keith would have to go down to about 72bpm and then it’d be a stretch! Angus on the other hand... 😅
stolen? Or influenced by?
Stolen
@@anuncolonizedmind6296 influenced by. The intro lick on Johnny Be Good was taken from another song note for note, and I don't consider it stolen. It's the rockabilly sound.
Influenced
You can't steal minor pentatonic it's not possible... Play what you listen to Chuck said it came from Louis Jordan cuz he listened to the tympany five
Influenced
Hey Marty, you're getting a bit fluffier, lifes good I can see :D
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
F....n🔥!!!
Can you do the tutorial to the wytches-digsaw, and crying clown?
How to listen through a speaker with a Line 6 POD version 2.0?
Can I request a lesson on one song? I’m willing to pay for it? Do you accept venmo?
Putting your new Gibson to good use I see, cool.
Can you please do Jesus of suburbia next, Marty?😍
Keith Richards makes no bones about it that Chuck Berry was a huge influence on his playing .
He seemed to be a massive influence on alot of well known guitarists.... These little double stop ideas wasn't the only thing Angus Young stole off Chuck Berry either... Don't forget Angus basically flat out stole the duck walk off him as well.... Chuck Berry was the original Duck walker =P
Can you do a lesson on Ibiza Bar by Pink Floyd, Marty?
Its just borrowed yhey gave it back haha Marty your new guitar is great
You basically taught me how to play guitar, too.
Can you make ACDC Are you ready with the solo Marty thanks ?
Awesome! But can you do please a tutorial for Alice in Chains - Sunshine? Appreciate your work!
Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols is very Chuck Berryesque!
Loves a double stop.
Marty B Good
Any of the songs of Colter Wall... please. Thank you Sir!
Hey Marty could you make a lesson for acoustic guitar on how to use a capo I'm not very good and most of my favourite songs require them
Capo usage is very easy. You just clip the thing on to the fretboard, having the softer padding push down of the strings. You want to put it toward the end of the fret
@@andrewunknown111 do you need to retune after putting the capo on or just leave it at the tune it is at? Assuming it was already tuned before
@@andrewunknown111 haha yes that part is easy but a capo is just used to change the key and still play open chord shapes. It an awesome tool.
mma 1st I don’t understand. The entire usage of a capo is dead easy. Clipping it on is just barring with another thing. It works practically exactly how it sounds in theory
Lord Death it depends on you. Sometimes a capo can pull your strings a little flat but not always
marty you should make a lesson on chuck berry's johnny b good
I think he did
Guitar players Don't Steal from other guitarists, they are either INSPIRED BY or BORROW from other guitarists, but never Steal.
Hey Marty, would you consider doing a lesson for "Jailbird" by Primal Scream. It's a top tune. Thanks.
Hey Marty , if possible, could you do a tutorial for “after hours” by the velvet underground? Thanks
If they did take it, who cares? Both guys always paid their dues and respect to Chuck.
Please Sir Chuck took it from T Bone Walker who maybe got it from Charlie Christian, who done it sliding because of the g wound string in the thirties
Apart from that, your video is refreshing and interesting if you like that. It's up to Chuck to have the credit to use that kind of style in rock'n'roll, even he said himself nothing new under the sun.
Congrats for your guitar playing
good
Angus didn't rip it off. He was influened by him. In Angus's own words:
ruclips.net/video/fGZJdmABeI4/видео.html
Please do “Bella Donna” by the Avett Brothers
Sounded like Dan Baird stoke a bunch too!
Love double stop licks. Why settle for one note when two are even better?
Chuck started it all
And Chuck stole a lot of his classic riffs from T-Bone Walker, especially that bend on the G and following up with picking an E note. You can play this game all day!
And t bone probably got it from Charlie Christian or someone else lol it's not stealing, it's learning
@@Ben59910 agreed
No Bo Diddly mention?
And his riffs were stolen or borrowed
Some of u are making to big of deal out of stole or steal, it's not stealing, just a different persons take or influence or maybe u can say its evolution of another generation playing blues/rock guitar 🤘
"Your chicken Marty"
Can you do an instructional on rose in the Heather by nazerath
Did chuck berry not steal loads of licks from T-Bone Walker back in the day
The next question is who did Chuck BERRY steal it from? 😉
Chuck said he got it from listening to Louis Jordan if you didn't know Respect
But Angus young was one of the most iconic guitar players of all time!! AC/DC rocks!!
