I will ALWAYS laugh at this. I was pissed at the time but it’s so funny to look back on
I collect 1:64 diecast cars. There is a company that sells very realistic NASCAR replicas, usually of cars from the previous year. Well, they did Chastain's Martinsville car, complete with the damage to the right side painted on! OK, I like Ross, but I'm not a super fan of his, but as soon as I saw what they did with this car, I grabbed 2 of them. One to open up and display, and one to stay in the package. You can find these cars at Walmart and Target.

I think they banned it for safety reasons. One car doing it isn't necessarily a problem, but three or four could be.
@@Racer7331also one bad entry and you have a cars front end catching the catch fence and then flying across the track from the momentum. Plus it’s just not in the spirit of the race to wall ride.

You should look into Smokey Eunuch, that man did some of the most insane shit ever to win.
The radio for this is legendary. They tell him coming to the last lap, “you need 2” saying he needs 2 spots to advance in the playoffs. In turns one and 2 he says “gotta get ‘em?” And they say “need to get ‘em.” Confirming his question, and then you can hear him just grab 4th gear down the backstretch when everyone else is down shifting under braking and he floors it.
I love the radio from the other cars
The in car of him grabbing 5th gear and pointing it straight at the wall is one of the most bad ass things I’ve ever seen… the radios of all the other cars around him are pretty funny too

There's a short somewhere of this with audio from different drivers and crews. And I think some of their cams from the drivers seat. One of them did ask if Chastain really did a "video game move" or something along those lines. It's pretty cool cuz no one seems upset. Rather, they're _impressed_ that it actually works in reality.

I have played a hell of a lot of racing games and have used wall rides to get a boost. Well, keep myself from having to slow down. I never could have imagined that you could just do that until I saw him do that a good while ago. I figured the car would grind to a halt and that would be that. Or ping off something hard and wind up in a different county. Meet the lord. Meet the devil. Meet Vishnu. Gain five spots at the end of a race? Naw.

At Darlington Speedway, winners often used the guardrail to do the same thing, the marks the white painted rail left on the car were called Darlington Stripes
