Well, it is because Michelle is also fit and has the strength for it.
She is literally incredible. Being brave is being afraid and still pushing through. Michelle is the definition of brave. She usually takes challenges for ease, but even when she doesn't, she still makes it out in the end. I hope she's really proud of herself for everything she's accomplished :)

“The focus that I have for the climb, I have no time for fear of heights.” I know he probably didn’t mean it in a deeper way but that kinda hit me in relation to life. You gotta be so focused on your journey that you have so time for fear of failure and the “what if”s.
That's really true. Also, when I'm climbing something at my limit and the fear hits, sometimes all it takes is to take a controlled fall to reset. Feel that trust in the gear, adjust the headspace, then shift back into the body and flow through to the send.
Actually he meant it (also) in a deeper way.
When you start climbing, you see life in a different way : when you fall, try to find other ways, either by getting stronger or smarter.... I personally apply my climbing strategies in life too 😊
Kinda reminded me of "get scared later" from All The Wrong Questions by Lemony Snicket
Oswaldo is phenomenal. He is like genuinely a good person. The motivation he gives, the love, empathy and support he gives, its amazing. Gives me some hope in humanity again.

Dammit, I felt Michelle when she cried. I never cried over my studies even when I failed many times, but having and loving a sport just hits different that it makes and made me cry whenever I fail. Having a sport just really makes up your life.
As a climber, I really love the coach's approach. I remember when I first started climbing I met some people who were discouraged and stopped climbing because of coaches who weren't patient and diminished their fears. Being supportive and encouraging on the wall is so important and he did such a good job I love it
I was super lucky when I started climbing, I was the only girl on my team so that made me a little nervous lol, but the coaches were absolutely amazing and the atmosphere at my gym was so amazing and supportive
Coming from a climber all the coaches when I started were kind of dismissive of my fear. I’m far over it now and can climb a 100ft sport route without a second though. I’m lucky I made friends within the community and we helped each other along
There are two types of people:
-Those who go rock climbing because they are scared of it
-and those who don't because they are scared of it
or the people who grew up doing it :)

One of my fav episodes you've ever done. I lost my fiance in 2017 and my father four months after. From that I've gained a fear of driving, heights, flying, among others which i never had before. Yes that comes with getting older and no longer having the fearlessness we had as kids, but its largely due to the pain of the loss and seeing how it affected his parents.I have a fear of anything happening and putting my mother through the same thing.
But this was a great motivator for me. This year on my 30th birthday I'll be older than my fiance and I want this year to be full of adventures and pushing myself to step out of my comfort zone. Love you Michelle, you have 😊been such a big part of my life since the og buzzfeed days
