Yes, I have to agree - and that's the saddest part! I am having a blast in The Sims 3 with no mods and only two expansion packs at the moment. Meanwhile, I have more than a dozen DLCs for The Sims 4 and it's just not as fun or immersive. I only build in it at this point. 🤷🏻♂
I didn't know why my sims3 launcher won't get play it keep sending me to EA and i didnt find any solution for that(ihave sims3 Pets disc that i want to download but it from origin 😭
@@Sp3ctralIi like how they make it look like that in their trailers and you get to the game and it's not even exactly what we see. it's all boring lol
Same thing for Sims 3 as well I would be honest I do not prefer Sims 3 or Sims 4 over the other in terms of base game yeah Sims 3 is better though if you have packs there are some things that I like about Sims 4 that are not in Sims 3 but the main one obviously is that the sims 4 runs and it runs well and multitasking is something that just feels so naturally in The Sims 4
what i’ve never understood is the sims creating education packs but not overhauling the base game’s existing system. how can you create a high school pack that locks it to one world, but not think to at least provide simmers rabbit hole private schools? or home schooling? daycare? military school? it makes no fkn sense.
More love to "Get To Work". I really think it's hated on for no reason. Not comparable to ambitions, for sure, but definitely one of the better expansions. Definitely worth it for 30% off.
@upalaranetka do you mean game performance? Cause luckily I haven't had any problems with that. Unfortunately though, about the games performance, my sims 4 seasons holidays don't work no more.
GTW provided a lot of unique gameplay when it came out. Unfortunately, a lot of what it brought to the table was usurped by later DLC. And there were quite a few bugs in the gameplay as well, most of which still haven't been fixed by official patches. The active careers are great if you have a single sim, but lose much of their appeal for households with multiple sims. The stay at home careers from later packs are much better in that respect. I would have rated GTW as an "A" when it came out. Unfortunately, it's just a "C" compared to the other packs available now.
Get to Work was my first expansion pack for the sims 4! Back when i got it, the only choices were Get to Work, City Living, and Get Together (I have all now) To me, having live jobs to do and running a bakery sounded cool so I got that one. I still love Get to Work, and I rarely ever choose a regular job if I don't have to XD
19:14 This is where "Get to Work" is a NEEDED Sims 4 pack. You CAN run your own yoga studio (and maybe a nail spa too, haven't tried it yet) out of a retail lot. As long as you place one item (maybe incense) for sale, you will get customers coming in, and you can start a yoga class as an instructor, and the customers will flock to it! "Get to Work" has allowed me to play soo many fun stories!
THANK YOU for giving the love for Paranormal Stuff that it deserves. This pack is seriously one of the best packs in the entire game. It allowed me to live out my "What if i was in the Paranormal Activity movies?" fantasy. Being able to make Katie, Micah, Alex, Kristi, Ali, Jesse, Lois, Dennis, Julie and so much more and have them live in a haunted house is LITERALLY MY BIGGEST DREAM, especially when i can add myself with a "what if" scenario, and put myself in the action. It's so much fun, and i cannot recommend it enough.
yes, i can’t believe it’s only a stuff pack! if they had just added some more bb and cas items, i’d be shocked if it didn’t upscale to a game pack! it’s certainly got more gameplay than some of them haha
I'm not that much into occults and non realistic gameplay, but Paranormal is definitely my favorite stuff pack. I agree with you when you say you're glad it received the love it deserves, it could almost be a game pack in my opinion. We deserve more quality pack like this one.
honestly, i felt the same and believed that for the longest time. Now I've spent my winter holidays playing Sims 2 ultimate collection and I'm glad I'm back to Sims 4 now, because S2 isn't even half as good as i remebered it. Maybe it's just because we were kids back then... :(
@@zeliha8113 I have both games, payed for both games, and honestly i like both.I play sims 4 more because the graphics are better imp, but i do love aspects of sims 3 aswell.I never understood the hate on sims 4, I have 200-300 hours on it and ive never experienced that big of horror . I think its more opinion based and what you are looking for in the games.Sims 4 is buggy sometimes, yes, but i think the graphics are more..Modern? sims 3 looks a bit old sometimes.
@marylynn8386 I felt the same with Sims 3. I used to always think it was so much better but going back it wasn't really better. Like take the open world complaint. Yes the world didn't have load screens but revisiting it the world felt more like just walking around houses where Sims 4 might have a smaller area to explore but it feels like there's more to see/do in that area. In 3 I liked going to the grocery store to buy groceries for meals vs being from the fridge but I feel the Simple Living lot trait in 4 takes this to the next level. Really I think we were all just younger when we played it before and didn't see the flaws it had and we're looking at it through nostalgia rose colored glasses.
I will say I think it’s worth it to play base game with no packs for awhile to find your playstyle and it will help most shape what packs you prioritize when you hit that wall with basegame. Like my passage of time are my families growing and I like not having seasons because it meant my families could go outside more. Now that I have seasons it feels like it’s raining and gray all the time. That being said, if you want to play with Mods Get to Work, Get Together, and Seasons are very common for many mods. I personally LOVE living in Sulani. My favorite world. I played off-grid obsessively for awhile with just the Sulani stuff. I basically got eco lifestyle just to get the eco stuff and use it in Sulani. I will likely never live in Hawaii, but it would be my dream. Christmas on an island in neutral weather and no snow would be the best.
honestly i think spa day is a massively underrated pack! i use it a lot in my gameplay, it works really well with growing together as doing yoga helps with creative/mental burnouts
Get Famous + Paranormal pack does allow you to take the influencer track and sell your ghost oddities to collectors to make ghost hunting popular as your 'show'. I have my little drone follow my sims on jobs and that's been really fun for me as of late. I like the cross pack compatibility. Really helpful breakdown I had to share with a friend that just started. tyty for this
Feel like the packs that should be base game are: - Get Together - Cats & Dogs - Seasons - Discover University - High School Years - Growing Together - Dine Out - Parenthood - My Wedding Stories Like these are such basic things that have been in the game since Sims 2, I don’t get why you still have to pay for them when they’ve been diluted down from the other games
I swear I'm here mainly to hear Satch laugh... it's so addictive, I love it. Thanks ,Satch, for all your hard work - this video must have taken forever to get done. Much appreciate it!
As a long time sims 3 player I was considering getting sims 4 and now that I’ve watched this I will continue playing the sims 3. Thank you so much for saving me all the money. 😂
There are some good things about the Sims 4 especially now that the older packs go on sale for 60% off. I play the Sims 3 occasionally and I love that game (along with TS2), but there are a few things I think the Sims 4 does better. Also, mods make the Sims 4 a lot of fun.
Honestly, you are better off playing Sims 3. It was at least fun. I would spend weeks if not months being interesting in one family cause there was so much to do. With sims 4 I`m bored within 2 hours no matter what I do. It`s so bland. Yeah you have stuff to build, but gameplay wise there is barely anything there.
I can't believe you're gonna make me defend Island Living. 😂It's actually one of the few packs that has a good number of things to do. Aside from the mermaids being a lackluster disappointment, it's a beautiful world and the environment is great for sustainable living. You can fish in boats, use jet skis, swim pretty much everywhere, and the Marine Biologist career is actually really fun, although the Conservationist and Lifeguard careers can get repetitive. I'm not usually into beachy stuff, but Sulani is one of the most beautiful worlds in the game. You can also build seaside vacation homes or just live in a little hut off the grid. Vampires are also the superior occult imo. The powers are actually useful like super speed, influence, putting Sims into trances, and not to mention having immortality. Aside from the very small world, it's a well rounded Game Pack, but it really depends on whether you're an avid occult player.
so many ppl mostly who don't worry about money, just tell you buy everything, but you gave so many recommendations and not just that but gave a great critique
If you get only the base game, then, you absolutely need to play on a computer and install mods and CCs. Starting with game play mods, then CCs for the build and CaS stuff. The thing that I like the most with Get Together are the DJ booths. Sadly, it looks like the bug where upgrading a DJ booth was global ; upgrade one and the same everywhere else, even in different saves, get that upgrade ; may have been crushed. For me, Seasons is essential. Discover University tip : When attending an university, never ever go in any of the on campus lodging. Attend from home or from an apartment in the village of Britchester. If you absolutely WANT to live on campus, be a spell caster with access to the teleport spell and set to Always Teleport. Try to max out your research & debate skill BEFORE starting your courses to get a free 4 credits. Eco Lifestyle : ONLY use the roof top windmills. Those never break, while the ground one ALWAYS break. Same for the solar panels. High school Years is on my permanent Do Not Buy list, right next to My Wedding Stories, Horse Ranch, For Rent. Spa Day : Children tend to like practising yoga, and build both motor skill and mental skill. The only reason that I may get Vampire is the organ. Then, it's that mod from Twistedmexi that can turn any vampire into a normal Sim... Werewolf : Once your werewolf attains top level, he can continue gaining experience and may eventually buy ALL of the perks, just as spell casters that can get all of the perks. Also, werewolf seems to make pretty good parents, being able to care for their infants and toddlers even when raging. I got Romantic Garden only because it's currently free. Backyard Stuff : The wind chimes can get your Sims in a good mood, or, if you put to many up, a bad mood. Laundry Day... Or how to have your neat Sim throw his dirty clothing everywhere except in the laundry basket when standing right next to an empty laundry basket. My First Pet, another pack that I got only because it was free. Instead of kits, get a bunch of CC.
OMG THANK YOU! I really needed this video so much! I’m buying the last few packs I don’t have yet and I’m trying to not waist my money but actually I think every pack I don’t already have is anonymous. Aaaand the fact you have no filter, which is a huge plus for me, makes everything better! Soooo thank you!! And all best wishes to you all guys, hope you’ll have a lot of The Sims!😊
Just fyi, when you buy Bowling stuff, there is actually a premade bowling alley added to your gallery storage. I use it all the time! It's called Dust Bowl or something like that xx
Thank you, this is actually so helpful! Unfortunately, you'll probably have to update this video soon, at this point I think they won't ever stop pushing out new packs. Hopefully no more broken ones
I bought almost all the packs and I have to say I don't recommend them at all! Just like you said, the Sims4 is a mediocre game and packs are lackluster and overpriced. Even at a discount I just don't recommend them at all. TS4 will never feel like a good game, and that's why I continued to buy the packs but I do regret it to some extent now. It feels like I was being scammed. Their expansion and game packs come with like one or two features and that's it! For 40$ and 20$ I have bought full games, which are just so much better than the Sims4 in it's entirety. Before you spent 500$ - 1000$ worth of DLC consider buying yourself something nice, and not sponsoring a toxic company like EA.
Get Together is my most used pack, because every sim I play has clubs. The family club (to bring everyone together for holidays), the school/college friends club, the work pals club, and sometimes the hobby club (like one of them has a park run jogging group or a saturday football club).😊 Dine Out is my least used pack as its just a buggy mess and doesn't work. Got fed up of waiting for hours for my meal, never getting it, then being charged after I leave.
I am not into the clubs, but still ADORE Get Together ❤️, as the world is stunning and there are a crazy amount of places (other then the highly overused bars) for your Sims to visit! Bluffs, Ghost House, Bookstore and the main attraction, COFFEE SHOPS.
I love when you guys each get on here and give us an honest run-down of packs. I anticipated Sims 4 release so much that I saved my money and bought a brand new gaming computer when It came out. And I have bought every pack that was sold. Do I think It was money well spent? Yes. I do love my Sims. Having discovered mods over the years, I have to say the stuff packs and kits are largely useless. However, that being said, I want to reiterate that I have downloaded base game builds from the Gallery who use few packs for those who don’t own them. I love that this is an option, but i can also see the merit in the stuff packs and kits for different aesthetics and so on.
I know they are the cheaper add-ons but I wish the kits went on sale every so often. The only ones I found it worth buying are the basement treasures and greenhouse 😅
You should make an ultimate guide to getting buff - man you’re doing so great Satch and I’m so proud of your growth, health, improvement, discernment, sincerity, and diligence!
TS4 Modders are the greatest unsung hero in this series where it is doomed from the start Coming from an OG Simmer, here are my recommendations of each Pack I Own that I genuinely like: EP: Get Together, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Island Living, Cottage Living GP: Parenthood, Spa Day, Jungle Adventure, Outdoor Living, Dine Out (if you're interested on building restro) SP: Tiny Living, Laundry Day, Bowling Night, Nifty Knitting
Wow...very odd, as I have 4 of the 6 EPs you mention, and plan to buy the other 2 shortly ( 50% off sale on May 2024). Ditto for the stuff packs. I have no real interest in the other EPs os Stuff packs...
As someone who only has the base game I watched this to get ideas of what to buy and I loved your honesty, for almost all of them, ‘this is such a shallow expansion pack’ 🤣🤣
I love having weddings so it was worth it to me. I do get CC wedding gowns depending on the bride because I have so many couples. I enjoy it. You do have to kinda test drive throwing the events to get the hang of it so it goes smoothly.
My suggestion: don't buy and just pirate. The Sims 4 has actually a very very good cracked version that supports the gallery and EA/Origin platform. The installation is even easier as the base game is now free.
I agree! I also got the base game from Steam while the rest of the expansion packs are pirated. It was the best decision I've made🥹 and the installation are much more easier while having the original base game compared before🤧
Great video and just in time for the great sale going on now. 60% off per expansion is pretty much my baseline. This is what they should cost originally.
Strangerville is technically replayable since you can revive the Mother Plant and even decide how "weird" you want the environment of Strangerville to be. It's just not very "replayable" in the sense that it's always the same set of steps to the same confrontation. Some people are going to enjoy that more than others.
As an Asian, Snowy Escape is a worthy pack for me just for allowing sims to take off their shoes inside. Taking off shoes inside homes soothes me because it means less dust inside. Just for that i give it higher score personally.
Since a recent update it is possible to remove shoes indoor with base game as well I do wonder why do people on the internet always say it's an asian thing, I'm french and I literally don't know anyone who keeps their shoes on inside
@@anayarey my mom would yell at me as a child because I did that 😆 if my shoes are dirty I'm not leaving mud / dirt on the floor, but yeah if I just forgot my bag and have clean shoes I'll walk in (my mother isn't there to see it happen 👀)
I love snowy escape, the hot pot and taking shoes off before going indoors is a really comforting touch and many cultures frequently use both. I love adding the no shoes indoors in my island living because in Hawaii we do that always. I also love the skiing and snowboarding and the cute kawaii festivals. It really makes me smile 😊
If I consider the features I use all the time in every save file I start, Seasons, City Living, and Get to Work are some of the best for over arching gameplay. Holidays, changing seasons, lot traits, apartments, ability to run your own business, and even the festivals and clubs are all things I think most people use all the time. Cottage Living, Discover University, Parenthood, High School Years, Growing Together are a second group I would recommend just to make the game feel less shallow. Being able to send your sims to school, the updates to infants and toddlers, milestones, and everything about Cottage Living really helps to make the game feel more dynamic. The rest of the packs I think are 100% personal preference. Do a lot of research and decide what themes and features fit your gameplay style best.
I remember downloading it in 2020 during the pandemic. I was so excited thinking it would be like the Sims 3 I played religiously a decade ago. I was so bored! I ended up buying at least 4 expansion packs right away to give me something - City Living, Get Famous, Island Living & Seasons. Seasons is probably my favorite even though it should've been included in base game. It's nice to have and celebrate the holidays especially when playing with a family.
You're fantastic at reviewing the sims 4 content, you bring so much insight to the products. You're siiiiick. Your content definitely allowed me to make a more conscious decision while browsing the packs.
I can't believe that I'm about to say this but I wish EA would release packs of the CAS and B&B from previous DLC without the game play elements. For example, I love many of the outfits from My Wedding Stories but will never ever buy the pack because it is so broken.
I got sims4 base game free during lock down, it wasn't worth the money 🤣 It needs mods to be semi enjoyable. I love your honesty and depth. I enjoy watching youtubers mess with this game and their lil challenges rather than me actually playing it. sims2 and 3 ❤️
Cottage Living and Snowy Escape are two of my all-time favorites for both worlds and gameplay, but you're doing the Lord's work with your brutally honest reviews.
personal opinion if you have the storage just pirate the whole game or pirate the packs you want to try, DO NOT SPEND UR MONEY ON THE SIMS 4 WHEN YOU DONT HAVE TOO
My husband just discovered sims 4 - I told him about the free packs and he can not figure out how to do it (he has an apple computer and I don't know how to work it so he is on his own) - but I also told him just to buy Seasons if it is the only thing he buys - but if he can not get the free things I doubt he could do that.
For some reason, I love the laundry day pack. Doing something as mundane as laundry makes my sims feel more real. The only thing I hate about it is how laundry will appear on the floor and start to stink, and how sometimes the gameplay will break and won't allow you to rewash stale wet clothes. You have to keep putting them down and picking them up, or put them in the hamper until it allows you to wash them.
i haven’t played 4 in years but i still enjoy these videos just to see what they’ve come up with next lol 😅 i remember liking the clubs from get together (?) that was a cool feature i would have liked in the earlier games
I still say Seasons and Parenthood are both way overrated, mostly useless packs. My favorite cross-pack combination is Cottage Living with Home Chef Hustle to make a farm-to-table cafe that you can live next to or above. (Cottage Living - simple living lot trait, plus a cow and chickens; Home Chef Hustle - the food sale table; base game - build your house and cafe with tables for the customers to sit at all on one lot and then lock the doors to the house part to household only)
Wrong "Batuu" is not for simmers that love Star Wars, it's for simmers that love the sequel movie enough to want their sims to go to Disney worlds Batuu, it's not even just Batuu. It's a holiday pack and it's not even good as that. There is so meny great holiday packs in the sims and Batuu is not even that.
Get to work, university , city living, and Seasons are the only packs you really need. Also if the packs original prices were half their ones right now they would be good
1. "Paranthood". 2. "Get Together". 3. "Get to Work". 4. "Cottage Living". 5. "Snowy Escape" (or "seasons" depending on your gaming style, but not both). I don't have other Expansion packs or game packs, but if you don't use Mods I would recommend "Growing Together" as well, however all the important things from Growing Together can be found in mods. I own "Tiny Living" myself but I haven't really been liking it so far. I'm planning on getting "Laundry Day" at some point, even though it is very buggy I've seen and heard by others🤷♀️ And when For Rent is 50%, I'll buy that too, -however I feel no one needs more then 4 or 5 packs, if they are find with using some mods instead of growing together and packs like that. PS Jungle Adventure was free last year, I didn't get to buy it for free, but it looks really fun, I just won't buy it because it was free last year🤷♀️
Ive been getting back into sims 4 lately and this video is a huge help. At the end of the day im really sad it was ea who acquired maxis cuz it means the inevitable end of the studio. EA does this on purpose to run these smaller studios into the ground and strip them of their IP's. However I still love sims and have so many fond memories of it. I was an early adopter of 4 and its a little sad to hear dine out still isn't fixed even tho I got it on release. Lesson learned to anyone out there, if EA is involved wait a good bit of time to see if they're committed to the vision of the product they produce
I started playing The Sims back in 2000, and I've played all 4 quite extensively. Sims 4 is the only game where I've actually sailed the high seas, because the quality just isn't as good as in the previous titles (I've also bought the base game twice, along with 5 or so expansions). Sims 5 really should have released already, because this game is very much on overtime.
Romantic garden is also quite good for occult players like me, for aesthetic items and wishing well! I have a magical boarding school that has a secret room with a wishing well for example. Thankfully I also got this pack for free haha
if theres any pack i want, i tend to wait until there's others i want so i can see if i can do the bundle. i got dream home decorator, tiny living, and cats and dogs in one pretty early on and i cant imagine ts4 without it lol
As a former Sims Social player, I only aim to cause chaos in Sims 4. I guess I'm just going for a bucket list of which won't screw me, but still offer me the opportunities to amuse myself (I play with autonomy on, it makes everything funnier). *_I once broke the game by setting my character with 4 forbidden things in base game + CC: Reaper, Ghost, Fairy, and Plant._*
Thank you for the wonderful review, as always. My son loves when I watch you because you're so funny. He said he absolutely loves your laugh :) Right now they're having a sale and I really wanted to add a dog to my chars, Skylar and Johnny's home, the Cats & Dogs pack is on sale 60% off. Also Paranormal is 40% off, I love Halloween, so yay! Spooky party time.
I haven't really played sims 4 that much since the university pack came out. So any of the expansion packs after that I don't have. I've been considering getting a bundle since it's only for $30 right now, or just some packs like cottage living or snowy escape since they're around $15 right now for me (I use my dad's EA account and he has the membership so I get an extra discount) I'm heavily considering a bundle though so I can get the werewolves pack, cottage living, and paranormal :) Plus i may also get the kids stuff pack cause I still don't have that one XD I'm really hoping they make outdoor retreat either free or do a refresh cause that is the only "old" gamepack I don't have, and i really want it. I just think it needs to be cheaper before I decide to buy it.
i've almost got all the packs and i like that batuu comes with tons of content but i don't like star wars. BUT i play with my boyfriend so im thinking of getting it, seeing as how they extended the sale for another week or so
The fact that you said island living is shallow and doesn’t have much to offer is baffling to me. You can use the boats and jet skis to freely roam around the water and explore remote islands, it’s very free roam play. You can find treasure and if your a mermaid you can swim anywhere, sleep in the water and also seduce other sims, or even drown them like a siren. It’s one of the most beautiful worlds and gives you the option to build over water and has a lot of island style build and buy. There is so much more as well! I’m surprised you praised university more, which is so bugged out and you can’t even see the graduation ceremony of your sim after all the studying. Party’s like keg party’s don’t work and are bugged along with the team spirit days both bugged out and a waste of time. Compared to the sims 2 university, university pack is one of the worst packs in my opinion, batoo is the absolute worst.
Your laugh! Love it! 😂 Thank you for making this updated video! Had to delete and reinstall my game, due to it crashing on PS5 🙄, and needed to only install the best packs. I had every pack installed and think it was too much for my game. You saved me! 😆
None asked, Bu I thought might share my opinions on the pack I have. I personally love 4 rent. I love the idea to have more houses, build different units inside one loft. Being a tenant and literally speculate. Win passive income while your sim is ... I don´t know, hunting frogs. So as builder, yes definetly. University. Well, I personally love it. I am a little bit sad you cannot make your own university, run it as a director and you know, get more into the class dynamics like high school or magic realm and not so much about dorms. The fact you cannot put an oven in the dorm is freaking ridiculous IMO. Cats and Dogs, I cannot stress enough how much I love the world and to have pets and all the gameplay, from domesticating them, being a vet, running a shelter or even became a dog/cat breeder. I love it, I still have so much to do there. Cottage living, I love it. I love the idea to run errands, to take care of animals and harvest plants. Yes, I do play stardew valley and to mee, cottage living is better in a way. Stardew valley becomes repetitive after a while. Some packs that dissapointed me: Vampire... I love vampires, it´s just such a pity the world and the lore is so lacking. Realm of magic, this breaks my heart. It feels to me like a very cool idea and so... superficial in a way. Like vampires, the lore pleaaseeee. Other nice packs: Kitchen utensiles. I love the idea to run a market place and do pizza and gofres. But that´s me I guess. If I were to ask for a sims 4 pack. PLEASE to be an artist with social media pressence like going to work. PLEASE PLEASE I am beging for new paintings to do, even play as a short of celebrity. See the art critics. Make art galleries and put up your exposition gather people together, much more interesting. I am absolutely obsessed with the amount of possibilities.
It's 60% nowadays , I'm planning to buy Cottage Living, City Living and Seasons but it's still expensive in PHP (Philippine Peso ) ,the original price was 1,799 and the discounted price was 719 😅.I have the base game from Origin and I have the free packs and the backyard stuff which was free for limited time .
My personal goal is to just get every type of occult sim. I'm a big fan of supernatural and fantasy things. I also like having options of different occults in create a sim. For me playing with normal sims is boring. Also getting seasons in the future. I bought cats and dogs just because I'm a big cat person. Once I get seasons and the occult types -mermaids and servos I'm probably not going to spend anymore money unless they drop fairy's
I looked this up because I wanted to get into The Sims 4 but since it is so barebones (played around a bit some time ago), wanted to know which packs would be alright to get. Was a huge fan of the sims 2 and 3 btw. This however made me feel like I should not get packs or even the sims 4 at all 😂😂 my wallet appreciates you sir.
As someone who has every single stuff pack, expansion, and game pack (fuck kits) except for batuu, I can confirm that there is no number of packs that will make this game less boring

@@lunarpixiecat can't argue with that. Wouldn't even call it a world
GTW provided a lot of unique gameplay when it came out.
Yess!! It's one of the best stuff packs!
yes, i can’t believe it’s only a stuff pack! if they had just added some more bb and cas items, i’d be shocked if it didn’t upscale to a game pack! it’s certainly got more gameplay than some of them haha
I'm not that much into occults and non realistic gameplay, but Paranormal is definitely my favorite stuff pack. I agree with you when you say you're glad it received the love it deserves, it could almost be a game pack in my opinion. We deserve more quality pack like this one.
the only stuff pack where The Sims 4 was a little more ambitious.
I love how you always talk about how broken the base of the game is. It’s kinda sad knowing that the sims 4 will never be as good as the older games…
honestly, i felt the same and believed that for the longest time. Now I've spent my winter holidays playing Sims 2 ultimate collection and I'm glad I'm back to Sims 4 now, because S2 isn't even half as good as i remebered it. Maybe it's just because we were kids back then... :(
@BeautyQueen2023X I never experienced the release of the sims 3 but everyone that knows about games can see that it’s just better then the sims 4
As a yoga teacher this is one of my favorites ❤
as a spa lover in real life i’m literally obsessed with it 😭❤️
I think seasons should be included as part of the base game in sims 5. Technology has came a long way, and is standard in almost every game now
weather has existed in games far longer than 2014 so there really wasn't even an excuse then 🤣
Taking a shot every time he says “implemented poorly / badly”
Don’t forget “Shallow”
Get Famous + Paranormal pack does allow you to take the influencer track and sell your ghost oddities to collectors to make ghost hunting popular as your 'show'. I have my little drone follow my sims on jobs and that's been really fun for me as of late. I like the cross pack compatibility. Really helpful breakdown I had to share with a friend that just started. tyty for this
Feel like the packs that should be base game are:
- Get Together
- Cats & Dogs
- Seasons
- Discover University
- High School Years
- Growing Together
- Dine Out
- Parenthood
- My Wedding Stories
Like these are such basic things that have been in the game since Sims 2, I don’t get why you still have to pay for them when they’ve been diluted down from the other games
The consumer has shown EA/Maxis that they will buy anything, even if its minor things. So they are taking advantage of the consumer.
Sims 4 is Free to get base game 😊
I find it funny to watch these videos because all simmers have those few they agree on😂
My top is cottage living though, always will be.
I believe My First Pet Stuff and Romantic Garden are free on PC/Mac now
And console this time too, last I heard. Which is rare.
The family club (to bring everyone together for holidays), the school/college friends club, the work pals club, and sometimes the hobby club (like one of them has a park run jogging group or a saturday football club).😊
Dine Out is my least used pack as its just a buggy mess and doesn't work.
Can we appreciate how much legit advices and analysis is put into this vid?❤
Paranormal is the only stuff pack that matters
TS4 Modders are the greatest unsung hero in this series where it is doomed from the start
Coming from an OG Simmer, here are my recommendations of each Pack I Own that I genuinely like:
EP: Get Together, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, Island Living, Cottage Living
GP: Parenthood, Spa Day, Jungle Adventure, Outdoor Living, Dine Out (if you're interested on building restro)
SP: Tiny Living, Laundry Day, Bowling Night, Nifty Knitting
Wow...very odd, as I have 4 of the 6 EPs you mention, and plan to buy the other 2 shortly ( 50% off sale on May 2024). Ditto for the stuff packs. I have no real interest in the other EPs os Stuff packs...
As someone who only has the base game I watched this to get ideas of what to buy and I loved your honesty, for almost all of them, ‘this is such a shallow expansion pack’ 🤣🤣
Seriously, we need more content like this. This is really helpful.
I was tempted to buy My Wedding Stories just for Tartosa but I think it would literally ruin gameplay for me 💀
Don't buy it 😅 the world is beautiful but so empty and useless most people don't even make their sims live in it... and it totally ruins weddings
It's a beautiful place and I love it
I love having weddings so it was worth it to me.
It was the best decision I've made🥹 and the installation are much more easier while having the original base game compared before🤧
Idk if it works for the packs
Can you name a safe place where i can downlad it please? There so many different pages and tutorial that is confusing
@@naokimisisuki2659Pirating is always easy. For those who have been doing this for years. It's never easy for anyone who wants to start.
@@naokimisisuki2659go on r/piracy or r/gamepiracy megathreads
Love how your video isn't just focused on selling the packs but actually reviewing them!
I play the sims since sims 1 and know all about it but I'm watching the whole video because I just love your videos and your sense of humour 😍🥰
Great video and just in time for the great sale going on now. 60% off per expansion is pretty much my baseline. This is what they should cost originally.
The Sims4 seems to suffer from creative focus that is sometimes focused in some packs but not in the game as a whole
Honest truth: even if you have all the packs and kits, the game still feels very shallow and boring. Don’t feel FOMO if you don’t have some packs.
Since a recent update it is possible to remove shoes indoor with base game as well
I do wonder why do people on the internet always say it's an asian thing, I'm french and I literally don't know anyone who keeps their shoes on inside
Really?! Because american. But was always raised to take my shoes off@_Lavande_
@@_Lavande_ What if you habe to go back inside just to grab something real quick?
Your content definitely allowed me to make a more conscious decision while browsing the packs.
do not stop!!! I watch u religiously every night
I can't believe that I'm about to say this but I wish EA would release packs of the CAS and B&B from previous DLC without the game play elements. For example, I love many of the outfits from My Wedding Stories but will never ever buy the pack because it is so broken.
for me its the complete opposite, i just want the worlds and some new gameplay options, the cas clothes are all customer content for me 😭😭
Thank you so much for this guide, I just got into sims 4 and I wanted to use my money wisely with this game and this guide has definitely helped me.
The timing is immaculate
I got sims4 base game free during lock down, it wasn't worth the money 🤣
It needs mods to be semi enjoyable.
I love your honesty and depth.
I enjoy watching youtubers mess with this game and their lil challenges rather than me actually playing it.
sims2 and 3 ❤️
ur laugh is my favourite thing ever
1:12 IMHO, 60% off only. EA does not deserve anything more than that for any of their packs, but Stuff Packs will never go below 30% off.
Thank you for your honesty, good video, some people do not honest reviews because their friends created a pack and lie to sell bad packs.
I have a Mac, he needs to use Origin and “buy” the free packs. It will then be charged as $0.00.
Everytime I see a new video especially the long ones I just smile. This channel genuinely makes me happy
i haven’t played 4 in years but i still enjoy these videos just to see what they’ve come up with next lol 😅 i remember liking the clubs from get together (?) that was a cool feature i would have liked in the earlier games
Also if the packs original prices were half their ones right now they would be good
I can't agre with dine out, it works remarcably (taking the other packs as parameters) fine in my game. And it's a must. I go on dates only to restos
I'm planning on getting "Laundry Day" at some point, even though it is very buggy I've seen and heard by others🤷♀️
And when For Rent is 50%, I'll buy that too, -however I feel no one needs more then 4 or 5 packs, if they are find with using some mods instead of growing together and packs like that.
PS Jungle Adventure was free last year, I didn't get to buy it for free, but it looks really fun, I just won't buy it because it was free last year🤷♀️
Your laughter kills me that dry laughing is so funny.
Im begging for a discord for the channel Satch, you're my favorite sims youtuber by far!
I don't know how this happened but i've been bingewatching your content. Very informative for new players :) thanks!
that was a very useful video, it must have asked a lot of work. thank you
Saw there was a sale and I was deciding if/what packs I should get. Always enjoy hearing others views before buying a new pack!
Thank you for the consice explanation and personal opinions on the DLCs, this helped me round up which one's I want
get famous is such an overhated pack. if it sounds interesting definitely get it
this guy is my fave simstuber purely for the way he laughs whenever he has to say something negative about the sims
if theres any pack i want, i tend to wait until there's others i want so i can see if i can do the bundle. i got dream home decorator, tiny living, and cats and dogs in one pretty early on and i cant imagine ts4 without it lol
The laundry day is my favorite stuff pack because of the men's shirts and the skinny jeans
Seasons is the first one everyone should buy. The tiny living is a good too.
I've been considering getting a bundle since it's only for $30 right now, or just some packs like cottage living or snowy escape since they're around $15 right now for me (I use my dad's EA account and he has the membership so I get an extra discount)
I'm heavily considering a bundle though so I can get the werewolves pack, cottage living, and paranormal :) Plus i may also get the kids stuff pack cause I still don't have that one XD
I'm really hoping they make outdoor retreat either free or do a refresh cause that is the only "old" gamepack I don't have, and i really want it.
Compared to the sims 2 university, university pack is one of the worst packs in my opinion, batoo is the absolute worst.
thank you so much for this video, the last time I played the sims 4 was in 2021 and I want to play again, this is REALLY helpful to me
I already got outdoor retreat, but I actually really liked it
Your laugh!
Some packs that dissapointed me:
Vampire... I love vampires, it´s just such a pity the world and the lore is so lacking.
Realm of magic, this breaks my heart. It feels to me like a very cool idea and so... superficial in a way. Like vampires, the lore pleaaseeee.
Other nice packs:
Kitchen utensiles.
I never noticed that in the Sims four trailer for the base game they show people playing music together 2:22. Talk about false advertising.
Satch i love you you’re so real for this 🙏
I didn’t think I could get gayer but dude … you look extra gorgeous today sir! 🎉
Happy new year
My favourite things ever. The laugh and the yes you do 😂
It's 60% nowadays , I'm planning to buy Cottage Living, City Living and Seasons but it's still expensive in PHP (Philippine Peso ) ,the original price was 1,799 and the discounted price was 719 😅.I have the base game from Origin and I have the free packs and the backyard stuff which was free for limited time .
Thanks for creating this because I still play the sims 3 and only play sims 4/get to work...there are to many sims 4 packs etc..love your reviews
Using plopsy is broken. I try to sell my artwork and someone wants to buy my artwork. I can’t send off the artwork. It’s sad.
Oh that’s sad, I haven’t had any issues with Plopsy in my game play. I find it so odd how bugs aren’t universal for every player.
