- TED AND PATTSY FOUND THIS CAR STUCK ON THE LONGBEACH APPROACH . THE OWNER DID NOT WANT TO TAKE A CHANCE OF DAMAGING THERE CAR . PATTSY CALLED ME FOR HER . MOST HIGH END CARS LEXUS , BMW AND MERCEDES WILL HAVE A TOW HOOK USUALLY IN THE TRUNK THAT WILL SCREW INTO THE FRONT OR REAR BUMPER FOR DAMAGE FREE TOWING WHEN STUCK . THERE ARE VERY FEW AREAS UNDER THESE CARS THAT CAN BE HOOKED INTO WITHOUT DOING DAMAGE .
"You want me to open the hood too" From the same mind that would drive a Lexus sedan onto a sandy beach.
bought the truck as a 5 yard dump truck . It had a blown trany . $2,300 trany rebuild $1,000 bought an old class B gmc wrecker $4500 Tires $2500 spent 6 months building and painting approx 300 hours . I figure with my guys labor I have total about $16,000 into it . You couldn't buy this truck from me for twice that . It has made me double this amount in the first year .
glad to see that you used the screw-in eyebolt in the fashion it was designed for. only one "glitch" and it's my opinion, I haven't seen any actual rope recommendations. I think your rope is too strong and would break the eyebolt out if loaded angularly with enough force. it'd be nice if the eyebolt had an attachment rope designed to break away before the bolt could. soft sand is a pretty good surface to be pulling on. it doesn't grip too hard in most cases but also resists rolling enough to maintain pulling tension. easy followed by peasy.
John Worrell I have always use the tow hook provided with those European cars but I have also seen inexperienced tow drivers Start cranking down on the winch when it’s on the bed and rip the entire bumper off
Hey thanks a ton man, you just saved my ass because of this video.
@wade6peters
DAY OFF FROM WHAT . I LIVE ON THE BEACH GET TO SPEND MY TIME DRIVING UP AND DOWN THE BEACH . I HAVE A WRECKER THAT'S [ IN MY OPINION ] THE COOLEST TRUCK AROUND . I PLAN ON GOING TO WORK RIGHT UP TO THE DAY I KICK . IF WE ALL HAD JOBS WE LIKED I WOULD BET NO ONE WOULD RETIRE .
You have to have a pretty small knife blade to get them off . on some of the cars they are reverse thread and a real course thread some what like the threads on caging bolts for air brakes . I am sure this is done so people do not try use an unrated bolt or hook
Hill Auto Body & Towing push the corner of it and it pops open usually a tinny mark for where to push.
Good work!
I didn't know about those hidden hook tow points either. Nice to hear some appreciative owners.
If you look real close at the cover there will be a small arrow . YOu press in on the arrow and the cap will pop out on the top
Thanks! I hope I never need your services, but if I do get stuck, I hope you're the one to come get me.
Dam it's like being back in 3rd grade . Mrs. Garron tried to beat spelling and grammer into me . Spent every lunch and recess in her room doing make up work . 50 years later and I still can't write worth s@*t .
Thx for sharing! Awesome info. too sir!
Long as your not really pulling hard, the eye bolt is ok but if you put any heavy load on it, they snap and pull out of the bumper, stay safe
What do you charge to tow a stuck vehicle on the beach just like the Lexus?
Cool! Learn something new every day.
That's pretty cool. Didn't know they made a 404. i thought it was a 345 or a 392.
I WISH I had a truck like that.....
"in their car"
I wouldn’t drive my Lexus on the sand
@HILLAUTOBODY Very well said.
does the tow hook come with car?
Seems like most of the new cars will have a tow bolt on high end cars on the cheaper cars it is 50 / 50 . Seems like most of the cars that are bought second hand the bolt is missing .
@@HILLAUTOBODY thank you for response.
Correct way? Either (1) not at all, or (2) on its roof rather than on its wheels.
GOOD TO LEARN IS DON`T GO WITH UR LEX TO SAND ITS NOT SUV 100% ULL STOCK
zeng ricky. Low profile tires will get you stuck on any soft ground.if your shoe heels sink in, the ground is too soft.Prevent getting carstuck.
