There is some things I left out or that I may have not said 100% correctly But I will cover in the Video that I upload next video. Thanks for watching guys
So when ya say a epoxy for the 04 05 heads were talking about jewelry yes? Thinking of trying what ya describe out for the hell of it haha thanks for any and all info in your vids man!
@@15brucet lol I gotcha. But yes. Always remember you wanna do the port roof on most ports. Flip the head upside down and pudle the JB weld or epoxy into the and sround the valve guide boss and then let it cure then you do your porting.
Hey trx tech there is only 1 hp difference between dasa and hmf with hmf having a better bottom end witch is what you want with a racing quad ! So I'll stick with hmf
it depends on all of the supporting mods. The Dasa has a reverse megaphone style exhaust system so the pulse of the exhaust leaving the exhaust valves get stronger as it gets further down the tube creating more of negative pressure behind the Exhaust Valves. As for my biuld my wngine likes to breath A LOT and if I had an HMF on my quad I would never be able to achieve close to 60 hp like I am. I'm not sure if you have ever seen the size difference of the Dasa, monster rossier, empire exhaust or a Curtis Sparks... an HMF but it's gigantic compared to the HMF. The HMF header pipe is barely even bigger and barely even longer than the stock exhaust.
@@bryceswan7936 Yeah idk man. I do this as a side living and I never have played with any cheper exhaust's or seen then make as much power as a high dollar system does.
@@trxtech3010 the dasa doesn't have a reverse megaphone, barkers does, as for hmf, they make more power than a sparks will due to having more steps in the header, they also have a larger mx diameter pipe that will work better for top end power.
Do you do any of this work on other motors in particular the Kfx450r? I've heard that porting and polishing on the Kfx450 along with a stage 2 cam, really wakes them up.
Hey what's up TRX? Nice vids I've watched thim about 10 times now... Couple questions what's the best tool for taking out meat when your porting aluminum? What's the best speed? Does the D shape work on 400x or all cylinders for that matter?
I usea carbide and a diamond bit. I think i said what i use and suggest in one if my videos. D shape will work on the 400ex yes, works on almost all ports.
If you have a TRX450R or YFZ450 or the earlier years you'll see a big gain in power (If you have a cam to go along with it) it will be a night and day difference.
I just bought a 2012 TRX 250x for my son an it needs a rod bearing what can I use as a rod bearing other than spending the money Honda wants? Maybe a longer rod for power idk
De shrouding and removing the “hot” edges are two different things. You can de shroud to the limit if your bore. 99% of the time you can solve it with a different piston. 14+ to 1 is to much for anything outside of a dedicated race motor anyway. Shit is just to hard on parts. Epoxying the ceiling instead of cleaning up the valve guide is about the dumbest shit I have ever heard. Let me just reduce my highest velocity air. Take your time. Be careful. Epoxy on the floor if you need to bring the runner cc back in line. Get your short turn good. Good valve job. Etc.
This is an old video, look at my newest porting video if you wanna talk more shit. As for the early Honda TRX/CRF heads You cannot just "clean up" the port roof and around the guides the port roof is just to high and the intake port has major dead spots on the 04/05 heads just behind the valve guides along with early CRF heads. I have used a flow bench and tested this Theory many times and it makes a sagnificant difference in flow with and without epoxy. I worked at Racers Edge AZ where I learned my porting. You HAVE TO put epoxy on the roof of the port to correct flow and actually make power ofher why's "Cleaning up" is just something people who are "Wanna be" porters it does nothing. the epoxy does not and never has ever fallen off if you think "It's the dubrst shit ever"... Now the dumbest shit that I ever heard is someone who is clearly uneducated on porting these style heads. Deshrouding is openeing up/blending and making a smoother transition from the Valve Seat to the combustion chamber which allows air around the valves The short turn radious on these heads is the least concerning on the intake other then just assuring that they're smooth. Don't leave idiotic comments. Do your research before saying anything.
@@trxtech3010 Allow me to re iterate. When I say "clean up" I mean reshape the obstruction into a vane that allows and guides the air so that it can flow all the around the valve. You called it cleaning up, so I used the same terminology. The end goal is to get maximum flow without having big variances in velocity in the port. Every time you do that you cause turbulence and cause fuel to separate from the air. Sorry if I came off like a dick. I am just very direct.

Nice video. It gives you the foundation, of the theory for porting these heads. Good job!
Thank you! Glad to hear!
This was a very helpful video. Hard to find info on doing the port and polish your self. Would love if you posted a crf head specific video!
That one is in the future! Thanks gor watching!
Did you see noticeable improvement after this also is it still worth doing the er
Yes. I been meaning to make a New Video which should happen sooner now. Maybe in the Next Few Weeks.
I thought those termites were on my phone is trying to blow them off I didn't realise they were in your video
haha.

It will add to any engine. The beter they breath the better they can run.

Honestly just spend the money on the OEM Part i wouldn't mess around and or cheap out on that.
Hot rod sales a deal an just be done with it

Thanks for the tip I'll order the Honda rod an bearings
