The whole country came out bc this was their dream for Messi for the longest time. Final after Final - he has been losing so with this squad who said they will take a bullet for him - they had to make sure he gets this win in his final world cup. The whole world in every corner was up watching and rooting for him bc it was the greatest gift football will give him after all he's given football, fans etc. all over the world. yes he is a playmaker and wants to give to his teammates, for example he has the most assists in football history, the most assists in a calendar year, he also was i think 2nd top assist this season, and won like the most playmaker awards, all this while having 800+ goals, 43 trophies, the most goals in a season, the most goals in a calendar year, for example one time in 2015 he was on a race with cristiano ronaldo for the golden boot (most goals in a season) and he was fouled and got a penalty (bascially 80% free goal), he had the opportunity to score and get infront of cristiano but instead he let neymar his teammate at the time take the penalty, and he has done this 10-20-30 times... the number of opportunities he got to score a hattrick (3 goals) with a free pen and instead gave it to his teammates, he said it clearly he doesnt care about being the best nor did he ever think of it,

    11:20 Messi is a very introverted guy. He doesn't really get on his teammates like that. He's more of a lead by example type of person. It wasn't very effective though as Argentina lost three finals in different competitions back to back and Barcelona was always crumbling under pressure. He changed his approach to being more vocal at Argentina in about 2019 and it almost instantly paid off as he finally won them a trophy in 2021, then followed by the World Cup in 2022. He's still a calm guy, but as captain he's a more vocal leader. Just not on the vicious MJ type of thing, he's very encouraging to his teammates and they in turn fight for him.

    For the Argentina team, they wouldn’t have even made the 2018 World Cup without Messi, and to put into perspective, they wouldn’t have made it to the final of the 2014 World Cup without him. Most likely would’ve been knocked out before the round of 16 in 2014. Only for Messi to have dragged them to the final and have their striker (Higuain) to fumble 2 easy chances to finish and win the World Cup. The only time higuain was even remotely sort of useful in the team ever really

    The World Cup is special because it is a tournament that takes four years to arrange. Countries would call on their best players who play everywhere around the world in order to create a powerful team. Then each country would compete in their respective continents/regions in order to win 1 slot in the tournament. The best players of the world normally have 3-5 chances in their life to be part of the team and qualify. So winning the World Cup is a high honor for players who win. Pele of Brazil won 3 World Cups in his lifetime making people consider him to be the GOAT. Maradona of Argentina was Argentinas diamond player who single handedly won Argentina their second World Cup in 1986. He was everything people said and more. An amazing player to watch and viewed as a godly figure in Argentina. When Messi had begun his career, Ronaldihno, one of the best players at the time, already claimed that Messi was gonna be the greatest ever. Messi did it all and he was winning everything. The glory of Barcelona. However, he’d yet to prove to the Argentines that he was every bit as good of a player as Maradona. Argentina had gone many years without winning anything, especially in the Copa America, the competition of South American national teams. He’d been placed with the pressure of the number 10 shirt and was expected to do what Maradona had done in 86. He got close any times. He reached to Copa America finals but he lost both of them to Chile. He managed to reach the World Cup final in Brazil 2014, but fell short thanks to a late minute goal by Germany. The pressure was too much, even going as far as saying that he is done with the national team. Maradona would later pass away in 2021 due to a heart problem. A huge loss for Argentina. Maradona had coached Messi and lead the national team in 2010, were they fell in the quarter finals to Germany. Maradona was in the stands cheering them on in 2018, were they would be knocked out in the round of 16 to France and an 18 year old Mbappe, the winners of that years World Cup. Things were Grimm for Argentina but it was starting to turn around. For the first Ike in Messis career, he managed to win the Copa America in 2021, his first trophy with Argentina. They’d later play a game against Italy, winners of the European Cup, and win as well. In Qatar, Messi did it all, and he reached the final once again. France was the winner of the last World Cup and the ones that knocked them out of the tournament. Mbappe is the best up and coming talent France has produced, and quite possibly the best player of the new generation. Messi and him were teammates in PSG, yet that day they were rivals. While Messi managed to score 2 goals, Mbappe was the villain to all of Argentina, scoring 3 goals, keeping the game even and France in the match. Penalty kicks was were everything changed, and thus Messi was able to claim his greatest accolade. The people of Argentina celebrate and cheered in glory. Over 5 million people gathered in Buenos Aires alone to cheer and celebrate. Messi suffered many years and injustices but he achieved the total that many people believed he’d never do. The debate about whether he is the best or not is because he plays for FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid (rival team) has a monopoly on sports communication and with marketing he makes it appear that those who play for Madrid are better than anyone else. Barça player. But objectively Messi is the best in history.

    after messi and ronaldo, i think the debate will be about mbappé and haaland. they are both very young but really good. they are my top favorites for the ballon d'or in the near future.
    haaland´s only disadventage is that he plays for norway. they are far from being as good as france. zlatan ibrahimovic has the same problem with sweden. he hasn´t won anything with the national team, but he was also one of the greatest football players in history

    Talent and footballing ability wise Messi is at the top along with Maradona and Pele in my opinion. There are many more incredible footballing talents out there in the history but only a few sustained the test of time and had an incredible career.
    So career achievement and legacy wise Messi, Ronaldo, Pele is my top 3!

    This Argentina team would probably have made it to the 2022 WC without him, but just barely, and they definetly would not be World Champions. In 2018 they would not have even qualified if it was not for Messi.

    • @nachosc18
      @nachosc18 11 месяцев назад +2

      I wouldn't say barely. With Messi Argentina is the strongest team of Conmebol, without him they're the second strongest team in the region, so they'd definitely make it. A team doesn't have a period of 36 matches unbeaten just because of Messi.
      Being champions that's another thing. It'd be very difficult, but I'd say they'd get far enough.

    • @piero17sb
      @piero17sb 11 месяцев назад

      @@nachosc18 I am from a Conmebol nation and play them regularly, they right now are the strongest team, but before Scaloni they were not even near the 2nd or 3rd, even 4th strongest team, and barely qualified for the 2018 WC even with Messi. They had a few years of deep crisis.

    • @nachosc18
      @nachosc18 11 месяцев назад

      @@piero17sb even with the crisis and irregularities, Argentina was 3rd or maybe, just maybe, 4th strongest team in Conmebol. If they weren't at that level, they wouldn't have ended on the 3rd spot in the 2018 WC qualifiers, only behind Brazil and Uruguay, and over Colombia, Peru and Chile. Also, I wouldn't say they went for a "deep" crisis over a "few years". Crisis was during 2017-2018, before that they played the 2015 and 2016 Copa América final (I'd say that's enough level to be one of the strongest teams in the region, at least top 3) and then they ended up on 3rd place 2019 Copa América and champions of 2020 Copa América. So the only considerable "deep" crisis was during the 2017-2018 period and I wouldn't qualify it as deep, at least not in the football part, yes in the management/administrative part. Football was not what it was expected for the team, but they didn't do horrible, just not as good as they should.

    Great reaction, but really it´s hard to compare Messi to anyone else because he is the Absolute GOAt in his sport, no one is even close, while Basketball some say it´s Jordan others say it´s Lebron. If I was gonna compare him to another Athlete it´d be like Tom Brady, who is the Absolute GOAT of his sport with no one else coming close, at least not right now, though I will say Mahomes is on pace to join that conversation someday.

      @@BardhanProductions again Jordan has competition. Messi does not. Whether you think Jordan is the absolute GOAT that’s fine, but Lebron has certainly made a case. His accolades and longevity speak for themselves. I’m inclined to agree with you that Jordan is the GOAT but Lebron has a case. In Messi’s case, everyone else is so far removed from him it’s actually quite comical when people try to throw others in the conversation. Not Ronaldo, not Pele, not Maradona has done nearly enough to be in the same conversation as Messi. Everyone else is missing something Messi already has. Messi has something the others don’t whether that’s Balón dors, champions leagues, golden boots, leagues, a World Cup, and such.

    • @BardhanProductions
      @BardhanProductions 3 месяца назад

      @@thebestfrom361 as a Barca fan I think Leo is the GOAT too but Pele has an equally convincing argument. That man was Mr. World Cup and had no equal. He dominated everyone. Brazil league (which at the time was considered arguably the best league in the world), European clubs, dominated other South American sides, and dominated at the world stage.
      Also, LeBron has had too many meltdowns at times in his career to be the GOAT. On top of that, he never built a dynasty (3+ titles) with any team in the NBA. He just ran away every time to the next team.
