@@cessaircr6511 I believe so too. The game was much more physical back in Maradona's time. Players used to actually try and hurt him a lot. But also.. he used to take performance enhancing drugs and failed tests so jts a bit debatable. But the game style is very similar. Maradona got lucky enough to be blessed with a very good national team and able to win the world Cup. Argentina of today only have Lethal attack.
Pele and Maradona are better, but the majority of fans today know nothing about football history. In fact, Pele is by far the greatest footballer of all time

The thing about Messi is no one plays like he does, to demolish defences in that manner with only body feints and one-two touches is unheard of. You rarely see Messi executing some fancy trick, no Roulettes, no Rainbows, no Elasticos. And while those tricks are definetely impressive and hard to pull off, him being able to do what he does with just the "basics" is otherworldly. It's the vision, combined with the reaction speed, the ball control and the agility, that makes him the best.

Maradona is the only one who is comparable in terms of having GOAT level dribbling, passing, control and shooting.
Messi just has way more goals, assists, achievements, records and trophies but the talent level of prime Messi vs prime Maradona is practically identical. One won the WC, Uefa Cup and Serie A while the other won the Sextuple, Olympics, Golden Boot and Ballon d'Or. Only difference is Messi has arguable had about 7 of those incredible all time great years whereas Maradona had 1 or 2

Greatest human to touch a football
There are umpteen qualities of Messi that everyone knows about. But for me, its his precision, trajectory, pace, the spin he puts on the ball at times, all the while tip toeing around defenders and with just a momentary glance find the goalkeeper and his position and the perfect space to put the ball and executes it with precision.. all the while running and finding spaces around defenders who are constantly shoving their feet between his legs. He is more than just genius. He is beyond all that a one of a kind alien.

On this video it shows how Messi won everything there is at club level several times over, but how for his country he reached finals with them, but didn't actually win anything with them. Well, since the recording of this video, he and his country(Argentina) won the Copa América(the South American Championship) in 2021 then the UEFA-CONMEBOL Champions Cup(vs Italy, the champions of Europe) and then just 2 weeks ago they won the World Cup, meaning he has now won literally everything at club and international level. He was also incredible in those tournaments, very consistent and he's 35 now. Crazy. His career has literally been like a film.

Messi is simply the GOAT. I might seem biased, but for a fact I was a Ronaldo fan growing up, I was so biased back then that I wouldn't watch Messi open-mindedly. But when I saw the 2018/19 Leo, I was blown away. Had to check him out, and I was lost for words. He was the most complete football player ever. He is just out of this world, his talent is unachievable. I don't think we'll ever see a player like Messi. We are so lucky that MESSI got to grace this beautiful game with his Magic feet.
