The best player to ever grace the game in my opinion. Played 1024 games, 805 goals and 356 assists. He started playing in the Barcelona first team at 16 and he's now playing at PSG and he's 35. The most amazing thing about Messi is his close control. Most good attacking footballers still knock the ball relatively far forward as they run with it. With Messi, he makes more smaller deft touches. It's almost like the ball is somehow magnetically just in front of him all the time. Astonishing skill.

There are some amazing defensive minded players aswell but unfortunately they rarely get the recognition they deserve.
