He is the Wilson Glove Expert that breaks in the Gloves for the MLB Players that use the Wilson Gloves so he knows what he is doing even though it may look strange to you But it works Period Thanks for sharing etc.
For everyone doubting it works, I've done this on past gloves and it works beautifully. I'm breaking in a new A2K and I can almost squeeze it all the way already.
A guy I know was in upper management at Wilson and he made it possible for me to spend a day with Aso to learn glove lacing and break in. It was great.
Tristan Newsome I mean if you think about it, a high end baseball glove is catching a ball moving at least 70 mph so he's just simulating that sort of assault
I always thought the same thing. After sending so much money on a glove the last thing you feel like you wanna do is starting beating on it but honestly, it works really well and it’s totally fine to do.
You inspired me Aso. I used your method on one of my granddaughter's new gloves but, on her second one when I had misplaced the mallet, I did this and it worked to perfection! First, I gave the glove a generous coat of Neats Foot oil, my old-old favorite. Then I placed the glove on the floor on a piece of cardboard so as not to get oil on the floor. Then I removed my shoes and using my 200 lbs of body weight and my heels, gave that glove a complete "loosening up" workout, inside and outside, for about 5 minutes. Voila! A loose glove! The extra weight added to the glove by the amount of oil is negligible!
At 6:56...The absolute expert in gloves says, "Playing catch is the best way to break in a glove. This is the short cut way...." So, if you're worried about jacking up your glove by beating it up, just listen to Aso and go play catch.
This works I got a red, white and blue A2k yesterday. I was skeptical about the water, but nothing bad happened. Just follow what he says to do and your glove will be good.
My team also followed these steps! By the way, Nathan great video on your baseball drills for First base! We used your drill today at our practice! Thank you!
I've used this method on 3 new gloves AND IT WORKS! In addition to the hot water I will use Lexol Leather Conditioner on days 2 and 3 but repeating Aso's glove beating method each time I apply Lexol. Lexol is not a thick paste like other glove conditioners. It's very liquidy and runny like water except that it contains Lanolin which is very good for the leather and it makes the glove highly pliable. Try it. You'll like it.
Me. Aso is only one of few master baseball crafter in the world. I personally do not like using hot water (or any kind of water) but when Mr. Aso does it, I trust his technique. For 70 year old dude, he is on wicked shape.
After the glove is completely dry I use Nikona Glove Conditioner on it, Then put a baseball in the Pocket and use a glove wrap on it and store it like that etc.
for infield i recommend using a 12 inch softball on the pocket when the glove is wet, then going to the 11 inch when its dry, only if you dont have a mallet. for outfield i recommend using a 12 inch softball for the whole process so you create a very deep pocket (the glove shouldnt be able to close easily around it, just enough that the edges close around it)
Here is the thing.....hes breaking in the glove this way because most major leaguers dont use the same glove for more than a year or 2. Using water on a glove is not the greatest thing long term but is the best way to break in the glove as soon as possible. I will use this technique with my 11 year olds glove I will be getting soon and will probably need to purchase a new glove in a couple years because of him growing.
If your using your Glove for an infield position, You want a shalow pocket in it So you can get the ball out of it much faster etc.A deeper Pocket ok for an outfield position etc.
My Son saw my boiling some water & he asked me " DadYou making some coffeee.?" I said no I am about to beat the S**T out of that new Baseball glove that I bought a while ago. " Works for me."
You are one lucky SOB. I dont know If I could ever use an Aso signed and broke In glove. Id probably buy a glass case for It and put It on my mantle In the living room. Aso = glove legend.
Give it a good application of glove oil. Put a ball in the pocket. Close the glove across the break and put it under the foot of a heavy piece of furniture, like bed or table, on the break. After a few days, its ready to use. You want to make sure that the glove closes where it should, as it was designed. The oil moisturizes the leather, strengthens it and softens it up. As a general rule, don't use water, as it takes the natural oils out of the leather and dries it out. You don't have to beat the crap out of it to break it in. Just use it, play catch.
When he had his hand in the glove I was like fuck dude watch the fuck out because I thought he was about to fucking shatter his hand into a million pieces
Yes.. Only problem with that is when youre getting a good glove for a younger player that's not strong enough to squeeze a stiff glove... Also young kids don't throw hard enough to break in a glove on its own! These steps are very necessary in assisting your kid breaking in his new glove! 👍
BaseballKidd15 I was wondering what should I do with my new glove I just got an A 2K and I was wondering if I should do the hot water treatment twice or once what do you think I should do
Ben Shingledecker go with an a2000 I’ve had mine for 2 and a half years and is still in great shape a2k is the same way I just prefer the price of the a2000 because I don’t think you get that much better of a glove the the a2k
He is the Wilson Glove Expert that breaks in the Gloves for the MLB Players that use the Wilson Gloves so he knows what he is doing even though it may look strange to you But it works Period Thanks for sharing etc.
Y'all be judging this guy, he's the one that making Wilson gloves
He breaks in a lot of gloves for the MLB Players and they trust him 100%
man i bought a franklin lol
Who on earth is judging him? It's like 'hey musk, what do you really know about cars without gas or going to another planet?
Yup! Like what does everyone think the A stands for 😅
@Tobias Casey yup, no one cares. I thought these posts were done and obsolete. Why not throw in 30,000,000 USD$ on behalf of the prince of sim salabim
Haha, he's so aggressive, I was like NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! But then i thought, well this guy is famous for breaking in gloves so I trust him.
Tristan Newsome I mean if you think about it, a high end baseball glove is catching a ball moving at least 70 mph so he's just simulating that sort of assault

Tristan Newsome me to
Bro I also he is bending the A2000 i feel sorry for the glove
He literally makes the glove
6:57 "Best way to break in glove is to play catch." His words, not mine. I can do that.
Peace
Could have been a 30 Second video
@@jerryaelvoet72 If you like half the advice...
Sometimes you don’t have the luxury of time and prefer the glove broken in sooner.
So you basically ignored most of his video. Got it.
He is brilliant. Forget all of the other videos; take his word for how to do this.

Awesome advice from the Master Craftsman, Aso!
Lol look how ripped his arms are from doing this
This
Oh shit. I just seen that😂😂
so we basically put hot water and beat the glove up
Yea that's no joke
This works I got a red, white and blue A2k yesterday. I was skeptical about the water, but nothing bad happened. Just follow what he says to do and your glove will be good.

This is the steps I followed, now my glove is perfect! Thank you!!!!
My team also followed these steps! By the way, Nathan great video on your baseball drills for First base! We used your drill today at our practice! Thank you!
I used this video to helps us break in our gloves as well! Great tutuorial! Nathan! you're a baller! I saw your batting cage videos!!! Keep it up!
thanks! DJ REIVAX
cool! me and my dad fo this a lot Jay Elay

Aso you are a legend my friend! Thanks for the video and details.
Hey to the people who disliked this the problem isn’t with him it’s with you
Without Aso life would be different.
0:06 you said it not me
Bruh... I watched this at least 12 times and I'm in tears. "Ma Aso" is what he should put on a shirt.
Thank you for the laugh!!
I heard “ima aso” and “in ma aso” 😂😂
🤣

Same. His method and the Nokona glove conditioner is how most all guys getting paid to play the game do it.
Aso surgical with that mallet! He’s done this video so many times he can do this demo in his sleep!
I did this whole thing but without the hot water and it worked great
Dylan Wszolek hot water softens the leather and makes it easier to form that why he used hot water
This guyy is like a celebrity in the glove community

Infielders dont usually want a deep pocket
@@mariasalcedo9772. i know, but when the glove dries it shrinks back again
0:04 Dont be so harsh on your self bud.
That's pretty good lol!
So I treat the glove like my childhood bully... gotcha
This relieves so much stress😂😂
A lot of you guys don't understand that this is the fucking Glove God.
If your scared doing this just play catch
Always just played catch. Granted I was a kid and didn't need an immediate break in

he’s a professional and broke in Brandon Phillips glove
Thats about right etc.

Thank you sir. I appreciate your wisdom.
I was watching the video in the background, all I could hear was banging and slapping 😂
Put rawlings lace on your wilson gloves please
Why
Wilson laces are thin and cheap@@navalsealsnipersports1199
It just takes a little patience
It takes a little time
A little perseverance
And a little uphill climb
I'm gonna go use this on my Rawlings Pro Preferred 🤣
My Son saw my boiling some water & he asked me " DadYou making some coffeee.?" I said no I am about to beat the S**T out of that new Baseball glove that I bought a while ago. " Works for me."
MyREDTAIL r/thathappened
This dude is a legend and his name is literally a Cuss Word
Lol. Good one
7 mins and 20 seconds of beating in a glove to get to the end and say....oh play catch. best way to break it in. LOL I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
where do i get that awesome Aso shirt?
Aso Question,? After this is done, Is it ok to use a good learther Glove conditioner on the glove to keep the leather from drying out tc.?
Yes
Is there any long term cons about this technique
i tried it and it is so awsome
Aso is goated love this man
I won that glove .. He signed it also
mathew orozco either your lying, or your one lucky son of a bit**
You are one lucky SOB. I dont know If I could ever use an Aso signed and broke In glove. Id probably buy a glass case for It and put It on my mantle In the living room. Aso = glove legend.
hey cool i won something from that giveaway also i won a glove also but it was a a500 but it was still really cool and it was also signed by aso COOL
Orozco fam were you at
The only reason I believe you is because of the sheer amount of football memorabilia that I have.
I just did this except adding the water and my new glove is already so much easier to close.
He had me at “Hi I’m an asshole from Wilson sporting goods”
Should i do it to my a2000 which is grey leather
Is it the dp15 all grey
Gotta respect how he just sticks his hand into 150 degree water
This is a great video on how to break in a glove!
JeremyGerritsen your the first comment
folded towel works
The way he uses that mallet is like a Japanese chef demonstrating how to use a Japanese knife… be careful of your fingers! Incredible! 😮😮😮
this guy knows all about baseball gloves. if the pros trust him you can too.
He probably makes the best pizza
Thank you this was helpful

I'm a Aso
I love Wilson gloves
If your scared of running sexy new a2000 just do this without the water, trust me it works
His dinner plates are probably A2000's lol gloves hold up well mines ummm let me see got it when I was 14 I'm 27 now and still going strong!!
Good job
When he had his hand in the glove I was like fuck dude watch the fuck out because I thought he was about to fucking shatter his hand into a million pieces
I have no heart to punish my new glove! LOL.. But I trust him.
Senpai of gloves.
fucken weeb
i just watched 7 minutes of an asian dude beating the crap out of a baseball glove
Dandan95406 if that’s all you got out of this video, then you weren’t paying attention.
@@pyro791 Right on.
@@pyro791 so serious 🥴

I want that glove so bad
he gave away that glove and it was signed, i won a glove from that giveaway but it was a wilson a500 but it was signed by aso so i guess it was cool
When Aso San speaks…listen carefully!
I just use this method to soften lace and form it to hand
+Cant Cutch This why do i see u everywhere
+Cant Cutch This For real same here, see u everywhere on random baseball videos
+Tanner Pierce cause when I have nothing to do at night I just binge watch stuff lol
If your angry or something it will be relieved if you will break in a glove
I used this method and the green laces and piping ran and turned my white glove green. Anything I can do???
This dudes got Popeye forearms...
I prefer the old fashion way,by playing catch.
Yes.. Only problem with that is when youre getting a good glove for a younger player that's not strong enough to squeeze a stiff glove... Also young kids don't throw hard enough to break in a glove on its own! These steps are very necessary in assisting your kid breaking in his new glove! 👍
My only problem with wilson gloves, is the palm bubbles with the middle ans ring finger. What causes that?
this guy is a pounding machine
What would consider 150-170 degrees water? Running hot water from a faucet?
Unless your hot water heater is set really high, no. You need to heat it on a stove. Just use a simple cooking thermometer you can buy at the store.
Dude I broke my 12.75 a2000 in within 1-2 hours of repeating what he was doing, I also have blisters on my right hand 😂😂😂
if you don’t have a mallet just get a baseball, put it in a sock, twist it and use that as a mallet.
Plot twist: it’s a workout video, it’s arm day 😂
I love watching aso beat up gloves
Is there any things that should be done differently when being in a softball glove? 10u softball
Just make sure an adult doesn’t put their large hand inside the glove…meaning don’t put the glove on like Aso did in his demo.
Is it OK to put water on a suede glove?
He's the man!
Does it work on mizuno
I just use it in practice for a few months. It's not really that complex.
Not really complex...
Like husky fans
i love ASO and glove
Can i do this without the mallet
I use a 2 or 5 lb weight as a mallet.
12 inch softball, 1 inch drill, 12" of 3/4" PVC - makes a good mallet!
He sounds just like he says “ hi I’m a asshole”😂
which model is that?
The water doesn't damage it? And how hot the water is it suppose to be?
150-170
Water damages it... This is a quick way to break in a glove use oil at first
No it doesn't damage the glove. And 150-160 degrees
BaseballKidd15 I was wondering what should I do with my new glove I just got an A 2K and I was wondering if I should do the hot water treatment twice or once what do you think I should do
Robert Meyers ever use glove oil! It stains the glove and makes it heavier
Hey I’m twelve and I was just wondering if an a2k or and a2000 rly worth the price
Ben Shingledecker go with an a2000 I’ve had mine for 2 and a half years and is still in great shape a2k is the same way I just prefer the price of the a2000 because I don’t think you get that much better of a glove the the a2k
I legit thought he said his name was a**hole at the beginning of the video
Lmao
Im assho somtimes too
wont the water ruin the glove?
That glove is so tough
I apply a light coat of Vaseline, then pretend the glove is the wise guy at the field 😊
Can I do this with a glove that is not broken in all the way but it's not brand new?
Jason Johnston you can do it with anygl9ve at anytime, it doesn't ruin the leather as long as you dry it correctly
TheGoat YT I am getting an eight you thousand and I was wondering if I should do it twice with pounding what do you think I should do
Stage 1: Feel comfortable kneeling for 7 minutes.
