I'm looking for some stuff to strengthen my core to help with my lower back, but I also want to strengthen my lower back. Sometimes I can just bend over or straighten back up wrong and I hurt for days. This last time I'm a week and two days in and I'm getting over it but still sore when I stand up. Takes several steps b4 I'm good and not hurting when I walk. I've had back issues every since I was a kid and pulled my back for the first time. Also football and a motorcycle crash didn't help. Of corse the older I get the worse it gets.

What he does is harmful to the spine do not do what this person does. There is a reason you do not see people doing anything he does, it is common sense that the this damages the spinal cord.
As a PT, I would personally opt to do them as a HIIT circuit- perform for 30/45/60 seconds on all exercises carrying out as many reps as you can (start at 30 seconds and aim to progress towards 60 second intervals) with ten seconds rest between each exercise station and a two min rest after the last exercise then repeat the circuit 2/3 times more. Though it states in the description to perform for 30 mins, when performing all as I have stated above it will still be plenty of time to work your abs and provide a good overall benefit. Incorporate this into your normal routine. I personally gain a benefit from training like this early in the morning and eat a few meals and make sure i am ready to do my main resistance workout later in the day/afternoon/ evening. hope that is helpful.
I am 60 years old, three times a week I do a set of exercises with dumbbells and a barbell. My muscles make my 32-year-old son sigh enviously :) But this video channel is very good. I'm glad I found it. I have taken note of several new exercises and will continue to do them.
I saw in an earlier post you said 3 rounds of 12 to 15 reps of our choice of 5 exercises. my question is, is this to be done in a circuit, or 3 sets of each exercise, then move on to the next?
If you want to do all the exercises, you should do a set of 15 reps, but if you want to do fewer exercises, you should choose 5 exercises, with 12 to 15 reps for each exercise.
There has to be an alternate method to get abs done I use to do the weighted machine crunch but my gym doesn't have one and the traditional method gives me muscle cramps in the left center of my abs.

it doesnt matter how much you train your abs if your diet is crap you can have insane abdominal strength and great abs, but they wont show if they are hidden underneath a bunch of fat thats the reason very skinny people who never worked out a day in their life have visible abs, not because they have actual strong and powerful abs, but because they are skinny and no fat is covering it up

Lower ribs are more in the front and upper part is pushed inside in the middle. I have that type of abs with no horizontal lines. Literaly the oposite of what people can have. Dwayne Johnson or young Schwarzneger is probably the best example of my type. Just one straight flat muscle. This means i totaly understand that for me 4 or 6 or 8 abs is physicaly impossible to have. 1 year home training and last month changed to GYM. In the GYM only on the crunch machine(arms and legs need to push together, the weight is controlled on the side) i can feel some response for the moment. But there is a catch. My progress on the machine is too fast. I started with 0 kg 24 reps fro 3 sets. Now i do 35 kg 24 reps for 3 sets. Putting 5 kg more every time when i dont feel pain as response after 3 sets. 38 years 1,83 m 78 kg Testosterone is on 17m/l - average for man Theory: deformation of the ribcage has lead to wrong building up of the ABS muscles. Lungs are a bit displaced and this positively affected the breathing in some way. My ABS became similar to biceps and probably should be trained the same way. Open for every crazy idea to make at least the two vertical separate lines visible. Dwayne and Schwarzneger somehow managed it.
