You and Rhett are the kind of ‘RUclipsr’s I watch. Personable, articulate adults providing useful information. The essence of the internet. Good on you!
As a long-time, mediocre guitar wannabe and a professional photographer for over 25 years, I’m gonna enjoy the Shull suite of RUclips channels. I definitely hear some similarities between your delivery and Rhett’s. Best of luck in this new endeavor - you’re off to a great start!
You could not have explained this any better. The examples were great and putting the aperture setting you were using on the video helped reinforce what you were explaining. Thank you for making these basic videos for those of us who never understood what all this means.
This is what I love about digital photography...the freedom to try all this out at zero cost. I learned all this in the 80s when I had to roll my own black and white film and develop it myself. Otherwise it was too expensive. Great video!.
Good evening Tilly. Rhett sent me here, I bought a couple of his guitar courses. Anyway, I have been into photography since 1975, thought about it as a career, was a school photographer I even had my own dark room to process film and pictures. But in college, reality hit me...I was good, but just not great at it. Anyway, In film cameras while trying to take photos will limited light, a higher ASA film can help. The high ASA in more light sensitive, the trade off is, the gain of the negative is larger. So you loose definition, the lower the ASA the finer the grain and the clearer and more detain you will get, but it takes more light to function. If you are doing your own developing, you can "push" your ASA from say a 200 to 400 by doubling the development time in step one, but it is still not Ideal. But I too like many who have commented here, have put the old film camera away and gone to a digital SLR (A Nikon D5000) and my preferred lens is a Tamron 28-300 zoom. it has manual/auto focus and auto stabilization. Just like with Guitars, it's not the cost of the guitar itself, it's the Amps an speakers that if you want great results, that cost all the money. With cameras, it's the lenses that can cost 3 to 5 times the cost of the camera, the better the glass, the better and clear the picture, and the more it cost. Lastly, I would like to complement you on your video, very well shot, clear and conses in the delivery of information and well done. One thing I would like to ask tho, are your nails done up to support the Atlanta Falcons? I mean, you and Rhett live in Atlanta, so it makes since. If so, as a Raiders fan, who's year has gone as well as yours has, I can sympathize. Good luck with your channel, Ms Tilly.
Tilly, I am a fan! I mentioned it somewhere already, but you and Rhett are now somewhat of a power couple for me! I have followed Rhett's channel for years now as I have played guitar for almost ten years. However, photography has always been an interest and I bit the bullet this year and bought myself a Fuji Xe4, coincidentally with the birth of your channel much to my delight!! I am noticing specific nuances in the way your video is edited that remind me of Rhett's videos, but now I'm not entirely sure who took inspiration from who 🤔😅 Love this content, and eagerly waiting for more!
Good video, perfect length and the editing style is smooth and engaging. I've never even touched a camera and I was able to follow along and understand.
I found myself needing a shallow depth of field in very bright light. I discovered gray filters. These, combined with polarizer gave me the 3 more stops I needed. I wonder if they are still made?
Nice intro track!
A really talented musician worked on that for me!
@@tillyshull One of the best! U2 are the Best! Thx for the content!
@@tillyshull mmmm i wonder who that could be 😁

Such a cheater... :)
I would HOPE so...
Thanks for explaining this so clearly! Excited for me to grow as a photographer as your channel grows (which I know it will). Great job Tilly! ⚡️
Huh, so that's how that works. Been using the f stop for years but now I know!
We support all of the Shull's... Good Luck with the new Channel!!!

Awesome! I learned a new word and a new technique for taking lowlight photos. Thanks :)

Also, you develop your own film and or do your own wet printing?
Uncle woody loves you 😊
Love you uncle Woody!
So I have an old(ish) Canon QL17, any thoughts?
Load it with film and go out and shoot! I love my rangefinder. The only way to get improve is to go out and shoot!
@@tillyshull Any pref on film?
I know this might be premature, but when are you going to do a collab with Rhett? :)
Rhett Shull's parents brought us all here
You look like Jodie Foster
