Bad News At Boeing, Again

- Опубликовано: 21 ноя 2024
- October was another month full of struggles for Boeing. The planemaker saw just 14 deliveries as it witnessed strike action and significant limitations on its overall output rate. These problems are continuing to put pressure on the American planemaker's finances.

All major companies try to do the same business practice of squeezing all the juice and energy out of their employees without paying attention to quality and safety. There is no way around it for Boeing or to any other company, you have to pay well to retain quality employees in order to have a good finished product. When it comes to airplane makers, safety is of the utmost concern and adequate supervision must always be present. Cutting corners to make huge profits does not cut it anymore if it means putting safety on the line.
This is a USA business phenomena. Vastly overpaid senior execs who float from one business to the next before they get caught, while the highly skilled and undervalued staff carry the can.
strange approach - you don`t owe anything to anyone - it is not your business, you don't like working at Boeing? go find other job - it should be open market, otherwise you will end in USSR
@@alexanderr8603so we can’t have enough money to put food on the table or get ahead in life while execs made 100s of millions of dollars and live in mansions across the country?
@@alexanderr8603 Or go to work for AirBus, maybe?
@@alexanderr8603 Or Japan, maybe.
The word “again” is an understatement at this point.
Boeing, Boeing, Gone.
And their new ceo saying the employees should take responsibility is INSANE. No hope for Boeing anymore….
Shareholder & Corporate greed has ruined Boeing.
First, take a first-tier company and remove all the things that made it a first-tier company. Then...
14?
I’m surprised they shipped that many! IF all goes well, they might get up to 33 units a month by mid 2025. I don’t expect an increase beyond that before mid 2026. That’s not being pessimistic. They really do need to spend effort on changing their culture.
The CEO needs to get management’s attention off of Wall Street and profits and back onto building planes.
If they can do that, then he could allow them to divert a little attention to profits. In 2027!
They must not forget their first priority is the product! Profits will come if you do that right. If you don’t make a good product, then you don’t need to be in business.
Moving corporate headquarters back to Seattle would be a good idea to get things started.
The CEO is in Washington.
Moving the headquarters, every so often is not necessarily a good thing because the people were hired in that location.
They would all have to move yet again
One can be a good CEO and make a lot of money.
One can be a bad CEO and make a lot of money.
Boeing will never again be Boeing until they expunge all traces of McDonnell Douglas from the company. That includes the logo.
Only then can they get serious about a true recovery.
it s not Boeing already for 30+ years - wake up
@@alexanderr8603 Keep on being snotty and rude. You obviously cannot "wake up."
Shedding 10%of its staff can hardly be positive having such a back log . It’s hardly delivered any wide bodies this year and with the longer delays to the triple x and 737 max 7s and 10s how do they ever hope to catch up?
Their biggest mistake was ending the 747 program.
No it wasn’t. No one wanted it and they were loosing money on every single plane because of the low production rate
i am here for popcorn again..hehe
Let's see some pretty extensive cuts of executive 'compensation' and unearned bonuses and see how that works out. Just saying.
At 14 planes a month from Boeing, Airbus is delivering 4 times (and hoping to get to 5 times) the output from Boeing. Not sustainable for Boeing if it wants to remain in the commercial aircraft business. The danger here (and I say this as an Airbus fan) is that the company could be split into two - military and commercial. The commercial side is barely viable right now, and that would be bad for the whole industry - Airbus needs the competition.
What is bad news for Boeing is good news for all passengers who can now fearless board safe aircraft’s built by their competitors‼️😁
Competitors?
They only have one competitor.
And that competitor can’t build enough aircraft to replace Boeing.
What I think would have little impact as I don't have engineering inspectors on the Boeing factory floor. Among others, Ryanair does and so it would be interesting to get O'Leary's take!
O'Leary is only going to argue his own case and that's delivery times.
Try to find where he's talking about safety, good luck. 😉
It’s not cursed just utter mismanagement and greed that ruined this once beacon of a business.
Talk about ruining a name that brought pride and joy to the country.
sounds like normal news to me
Bad News Boeing, once again.
Staff morale must be at a all time low despite the new contract etc, low morale leads to inferior work standards not really what you want when the end result is a passenger aircraft.
Only way is to go up from here. Evaluate and look ahead.
"Dogpile on the rabbit..." :D lol
My thoughts are, if Boeing didn’t have a monopoly they would be a better product.
They don't, they are in a duopoly with Airbus in some markets, mainly wide body airliners, and quadopoly with Airbus, Embraer and Comac in the single aisle small airliner market.
They don't even have a monopoly when it comes to producing airliners in the states as Airbus has a manufacturing hub in Mobile, Alabama as well as one in Mirabel Quebec and a helicopter manufacturing plant in Fort Erie, Ontario.
@@gumpyoldbugger6944 Emre doesn’t make planes the size that Boeing does. And COMAC has dated planes that aren’t certified outside of China.
They also have the wrong production problems.
Otherwise, Boeing would be completely screwed
Going, I mean Boeing, just laid off a ton of people, how are they going to increase output?!?M
So, the 777X will enter service by 2028-2029 by then?
So, the 777X will enter service by 3028-3029 by then? (fixed it for you.....😒)
Lol, the CEO came in here today and asked us all "why do we have 30 777X's parked and we don't even have it certified." That's what I like to hear being a part of 777 from a new CEO.
Ugh, I see it as a place to stop the bleeding but not having output is dangerously close to bailout. I don’t the the US Government would let Boeing fail but it would an extended period of difficult year
what a shame those criminals ruined a great company what happened with the guy found dead in his truck? whistleblower.
that wasnt boeings fault
So who's fault was it ?
@@AbdullahNajib-b9z yes it was they killed him
@@valyydzn.6782, oh really? Where's your proof?
Oh geez...here we go with the conspiracy nut jobs about whistleblowers. So answer me this: why are the 6 whistleblowers that testified before Congress still alive?
I don't understand why this channel constantly blunts the facts.
In August of this year, Boeing delivered 38 commercial aircraft, over 30 being the Max. So, it can be said that, with a goal of 38 Max a month in 2024, the federal oversight had become a non factor.
Then, why is it that this channel constantly points to government oversight as the issue? Clearly they delivered 14 aircraft because of, and ONLY because of the strike. All the other digs were unnecessary.
I predicted that Boeing was going to pay more money and cut staff, including union staff, and that's exactly what they're doing. All of this is to be expected and it's going to strengthen the company going forward.
The worst of their setbacks is hopefully behind them so this whole door blowout and Max crap can be paid to rest. People are tired of hearing the same crap over and over while other aviation news are being ignored.
If they cut union staff against union will, won't they just go on strike again?
@@RobbedemYes. Sacking union work force for their membership is going to force the union into action. It happened in every other industry, from mining to hospitality and logistics.
Boeing ha a long road ahead . This will take time.
All I have to say is; "Go Boeing, your really showing your true colors. Wake up and smell the coffee".
*smell the burning jet fuel
A long road back, I feel
First things first, take care of issues with the 737 Max & 787 Dreamliner. Then move forward to the new normal.
This is good. An incompetent company needs to be thrown out of business. For Airbus, please never ever follow BOEING's steps.
airbus fan cant even spell 'thrown' properly
Oh...that's good. Wish unemployment for the remaining 150,000 employees. Such a kind, moral person you are.
@@toms1348 so there 150,00 people working for that evil company. What a shame.
@@jayvee8502
Boeing are not an "evil" company. They made foolish mistakes and they are slowly turning it around. They are under the microscope so the safety of their aircraft will now become good news for travelers. Airbus themselves stated that Boeing having such troubles is not good for the industry. Wishing people out of a job is not good at all. What is evil is yourself. Do you love the industry or are you a shameless troll?
@@jayvee8502, evil comany....what a ridiculous comment 🙄
IF BOEING WANTS TO SELL AIRPLANES THEY SHALL STOP THOSE STUPID ADS SHOWING PASSENGER A/C CLIMBING LIKE FIGHTERS AFTER TAKE OFF. TAKE MY ADVISE SERIOUSLY PLS. I AM A RETIRED AIRLINE CAPTAIN
They diluted shareholders equity by selling shares to raise capital. Thank you very much to the FAA and Striking Workers.
As long as the shareholders maximize their profits... who really cares?
Fourteen planes?! Practice makes perfect so we're failing on this count. Every time I hear about production of the 737MAX, I cringe and ask why. Boeing has had years to replace that platform. It is comparable to producing a VW Beetle. It was a great car but no longer relevant. Boeing is just so behind and the engine problems in the industry. We are so behind. We have to fix this. We have Boeing and we have Airbus.
Apparently, the total amount that they use for stock buybacks was enough to design three different planes.
But priorities are priorities
If China Comac C929 successfully manage to get the certifications, will be even worse for the Boeing.
the only silver lining for Boeing...is COMAC won't get certification...at least, NOT in the West. That 929 will have to fly for a decade , Without Incident....before ANY western airline will take the risk/
The plane doesn’t exist yet.
They also need to set up parts and repair facilities around the world. They have a long way to go.
Boeing needs to focus only y correct airplane construction, delivery and forget about what`s going on in Tolouse European plant or wherever they`ve got assembly line. Filling the courrent costumers needs right away is the main reactivation program today, as well.
I wonder how the pay and bennies are at COMAC?
The past leaders of the company should be held accountable! How can the employee turning wrenches on the assembly line suffer when they merely followed instructions? I have been in civil aviation for 42 years and grew up watching Boeing plans fly over my house. We know all what caused the change. Why aren't they being held accountable??? While they made their millions, why the poor employees and the reputation of Boeing has to suffer??
Poor poor emploies.
plus i just heard this that they plan on laying off almost 2200 workers and 400 engineers starting in December of this year
They've got to keep the DEI employed, though...
That will certainly up the completion rate NOT!!
A new administration is coming in for the FAA. They will help Boeing increase production.
A new FAA administration who knows nothing about aviation
@@nyc1164 Yes. A new FAA administration. Get used to it.
another good reason not to fly boeing.
A qualified FAA leadership, or just another quantifying leadership with the previous results?
@@jantjarks7946 An FAA who won't drag ass on decisions to move forward. MBGA. Make Boeing great again!
777X by 2026.
Well, so far Boeing is entering the long winding descent that will end with Boeing being picked apart in the end.
Without new variants, but especially new models, Boeing will turn into a museum over the years.
Yes, there have been some indicators for Bowing at least trying to turn around, but that's far from decisive.
Boeing has to come up with two new plane designs in the long term. Not sure if they are able to finance this. It seems ever more unlikely.
Sorry for the workers having to suffer from McNerney's success again.
Most large organizations have a lot of fluff and dead weight. This is very evident in the largest of organizations (federal government). We're starting to see big tech shed redundant and inefficient workers.
Lean times provide an opportunity to shed the inefficiencies. I don't know what's in the future for Boeing, but this is an opportunity to get better.
Boeing should start with the Board. Time they recruited Engineers who know what the hell they're doing on the production line, NOT Laying them off FFS!
Surely bad management is to blame for having too many people on the books?
@@peterjuchnevicius7320 100%
Typical business school BS. Firing employees works only on the short term because customers can not switch vendors quickly. Eventually the customers go away but by that time management and Wall Street has cashed out. Thus the gradual destruction of US manufacturing - Boeing, Intel, GE - all great companies headed toward the waste bin by following the easy path of "efficiency" rather than the harder task of increasing sales.
Nothing new really. This was to be expected.
Boeing, Boeing….gone.
I believe in Boeing. They could easily come back from this.
Coming back? Yes, that's possible.
Easily? No, it will be a painful path to tread. Especially for the first half a decade.

Boeing,,, Going,,, Gone
Not with a half-trillion dollars in airplane orders. Automakers with their huge inventories of unsold cars should be so lucky.
How's the weather in Europe these days? Boeing will not be gone.
Airlines are filing chpt 11left and right and the Boeing bashing continues. Serve that almighty algorithm DJ....
Put it this way, those workers passed a really good deal, or so they thought becuz some are getting the pink slip for being the surplus of the company. There is a high chance that robots will be utilized in the future on some of the manufacturing processes. If they agreed with the 25 percent, and the 40 percent they pay more than airbus, they job should be safe for 5 to 7 years to come, but they agreed with a 38 percent, around 50 percent more than airbus, and caused such losses to the company. So they got what they wanted and the company starts cutting surplus staff. 14 jets from boeing in a strike is actually a lot, consideringan entire shutdown of production during that period. The departments the took out are a certain DEI department, some HR staff and a small number of everything else. Its mainly those administrative staff who would be leaving. So no it aint quality related. But its gonna have an impact towards the Seattle economy
You love to bash this company kid. Give it a break and find some real news.

Time to rename the company.. They better start coming up with something catchy. If Bell Atlantic can rename itself after 100 years so can Boeing

They seem to be h.ll bend proving it.
