As a kid playing Kingdom Hearts for the first time, Destati was where this adventure began for me, it always gave me chills. Such an incredible piece to have in a "kid's game".
this is a great kid's game.

Kingdom Hearts pretty much isn't a kids' game, it's more for people who grew up with it

I'm a trombone player, and yes it is frightening how loud we could be. And that's what makes it fun to play trombone.

I can distinctly recall the exact emotions I felt when I heard this for the first time around 15-ish years ago... I was terrified firstly, too young to be playing Kingdom Hearts despite it being so riddled with Disney, but I was also *filled* with some truly special and unique emotion. I felt steeped in the magic and awe, truly called to adventure - as if I *was* Sora in that moment.
It was such a poignant introduction level, honestly, that even my night terrors and hallucinations (I’m narcoleptic) began to take the form of Darksiders or other heartless... and sure, that was scary as hell, but having this game? Having Sora? I learned and felt so much with this game, and I don’t really understand it, but I don’t get nighttime hallucinations anymore at all. I’m pretty sure that’s because of some strength or bravery in the face of darkness that I learned from Sora, cheesy as it sounds. Maybe there’s a more medical explanation, but my cognition was definitely shaped in some major ways by this game; and this song- though it is what warped my visions to such creepy things in the first place -was really the start of something major for me, just as it was for Sora.

1:18 I totally wasn't expecting the violin to come in, and them the wonderful horns to compliment with it, I got goosebumps!. hAHA same thing happened at 1:40 with the awesome percussion and horns and tubas. Goodness haha

God that line always hit me with serious chills. It's just so... nonchalant. Like, he has a tone as if he's just making a casual observation for something damn near incomprehensible for the average person. I just like how much he brushes off Riku's circumstances- he's almost giggling at the notion that one would consider just being surrounded by water to be a prison.
I never played KH before hearing this and I loved this arrangement so much I desided to play these games.
Now, after finishing KH3, I'm here again with tears of joy.

I’ve listened to and love all your work, but I have to say the intro to this track will always be my favorite “moment” in your catalogue. You all were truly channeling Yoko when you came up with that Dearly Beloved/Destati intro. The way you create so much tension with that blasting horn against the piano and the rising choir is inspired.
I personally would love if, in your next album, you revisit some of these ideas and come up with a totally original final boss theme. I’ll always be sad that the KH3 final boss music was handled so carelessly, but I think it would be cool if the fans inspired by KH’s music were the ones to give Xehanort his real, true musical farewell. ;)

One of my favorite songs from the soundtrack beautifully remastered. It was a different experience altogether from the original dynamic choir overtaking most of the orchestral music.

It's surprising how much this song calmed me down after I got my ass handed to me multiple times when I tried to jump back into KH1 on hard mode
(It seems I'll be spending the next few hours trying to level up before I progress)

When it came to doing a little what if I could choose, and design 10 characters for Smash Ultimate as a Kingdom Hearts fan Sora was an early and easy choice for my list, and when it came to the 20 songs that came with him only one song was higher on the list than Destati, this version of Destati to be exact, Dearly Beloved.
