My BEST FPV MOD! How to Improve DJI Scale FPV experience with a Custom 3D-Printed Canopy Mod

- In this video I walk you through how I improved my DJI scale FPV setup by modifying the canopy with a custom 3D-printed frame. This easy mod ensures you get a clear, unobstructed view while keeping the canopy sleek and functional.
I used a simple but effective process:
1- Covered the canopy with tape to map out the perfect field of view.
2- Created a stencil from the cut-out design.
3-Traced and modeled the frame in a 3D design program.
4- Printed the frame flat using PETG for flexibility and durability.
The result? A crystal-clear view for scale FPV flying that transforms the whole experience. Whether you're flying for fun or capturing epic footage, this upgrade is a game-changer.

Great video. I never thought to use painters tape as a way of outlining. I tried eyeballing it and I did not get far.
Glad you got something out of it bro bro
Love the explanation speed. Good visuals! Are you a teacher or instructor by chance?
Thank you so much for the compliment! But no not a teacher, honestly I just try to make videos I’d watch/think are useful.
Great video! 👍
Appreciate you watching, homie!
Hell yeah man, EXCELLENT video homie
Thanks my fellow Broman - your vids keep me hype and inspired
@AntoniusBlack01 hell yeah man
Great pointers bro, Something for me to consider before i enter into the fpv realm for my jets
@@double_0_6ix26 let’s gooooooo
Great vid. The painters tape thing is brilliant.
@@flipfpv thanks for the kind words homie
I've been building and flying fpv multi rotors for a few years now. I'm very interested in building a fixed wing rig with head tracking. I'll take all the tips I can get right now. Nice vid. Thanks!
Bro,when I started last year I saw your video explaining a trick that skynet showed you and I saved it . Literally yesterday I finally did the mod cause I’m good enough to stay in the air haha . Thanks for all the tips . Upload more videos always hyped for new ones !
@@Pretend_pilotFPV Really!? How’s it working out for you?
@@Pretend_pilotFPV also hype to hear/read you’re good enough to stay in the air now lol
@@AntoniusBlack01it’s excellent! I have it on a su30 I did it all ghetto so I’m gonna cut it clean and use the tape trick that’s smart .and thanks! I have a few clips up check em out sometime . Did I see a sneak peek of a super Turcano in there ?👀
@@Pretend_pilotFPV Thanks homie

That's Awesome
HEY! Thanks for checking my video out Syn!
Thank you for this. Super timely for me. I just got a super Tucano and I need to modify my spare cockpit. Much appreciated. BRAVO
Awesome! Let me know how it goes for you!
@@AntoniusBlack01 Will do! I ordered the sheets. thanks for that... Have you shared the STL for the window frame? I haven't learned fusion yet on my X1C.
@ I’ll be throwing together an account to release prints this week.
That would be EPIC. Much appreciated where do yall fly?
@ were in Tx. I fly all over the state and pretty much wherever
Thank you! I'm planning to build a couple balsa warbirds and put FPV gear in the cockpits. But I was struggling to figure what do do with the canopy. You just gave me a few ideas.
I have 2 question:
First, would heating the PETG sheets (and maybe your 3d printed frame) with a heatgun make them form to your cockpit a little easier and potentially let them last longer before showing stress cracks? Or would that just be more trouble than its worth (and possibly even cause problem with uneven warping/bending)?
Second, it looks like you have a fan on your O3 air unit... but do you have any holes to allow air to enter or exit the canopy ? Or are you just recirculating the air trapped in the canopy? Has the O3 ever overheated with your current setup?
do you fly fpv drones?
@@AleksanderOsborne yes I sure do
