I would love to see these compared with Becca Backlight Priming Filter and the Physician’s Formula Spotlight Illuminating Primer. I feel like people are forgetting about those OG gems when it comes to this comparison.
I’ve used the CT flawless filter and the Becca Backlight Priming Filter and I’d say they’re quite different in texture and effect. The Becca one really is less runny and works better as a glowy primer that helps your makeup last (although perhaps not quite as effectively as a true gripping primer) and the glow is more intense, almost with a sheer metallic quality to it. The CT flawless filter is more runny and I actually prefer to use it on top of my makeup as a natural highlighter or as a base under and around my concealer on my no foundation days. I would never use the Becca Priming filter on its own because it’s so intense and doesn’t have those skin pigments to help it blend into your natural skin tone but it’s the one I guarantee will still give you a “lit from within look” even under a high coverage foundation. I love both and use them differently!
@@AmandaZ Agree. Becca & PF are just glowy primers. CT & Auric are not so metallic, they are more healthy skin like luminous, and more hydrating multitaskers. I love the finish of Auric ✨ w just concealer.
It's quite nice to see that the comparison observation on HFF and Glow Lust is very consistent fr one person to the next. Something to add from an oily B (aka me) is wearing Glow Lust underneath or mixed in works so much better than HFF. HFF made my skin oily and my base slips around and breaks apart/separates much quicker, while Glow Lust doesn't affect the performance of the few foundations I've tried with it while made my base looks easy even better.
These comparisons and showing how you would "dupe" the look with other product is SO HELPFUL. Thank you! I like that the brand appears to be about layering tones and textures. I've been inspired to try other combinations in my collection instead of picking up the launch this time.
As someone who has the Tom Ford cream and power duo I'm so curious to see how Auric compares. I haven't seen anyone comparing the bronzes but I think people have said the Auric is a formula dupe.
I have both and they are super close. I bought the TF because it reminded me of the Auric formula (which I owned first). The topper in the TF has a stronger base color and is a bit thicker than the Auric one. I love both, they are my absolute favourite eyeshadows. I bought also TF cream color for eyes because I wanted more of this moussy stable eye color, but it is not the same as the cream and powder duo or the Auric one, and it does not last on my eyes as long.
In my experience the CT as a primer disappears under my Shiseido foundation- Auric hasn’t disappeared- as primer under anything- even more full coverage. My dream combo atm is Auric in all the places I would highlight and then use the Em cosmetics cushion. I’m REALLY dry though, and I lightly- very lightly powder the t-zone w that combo, but my skin looks flawless, somehow still like skin? It’s incredible
Omg thanks! I was having a bad day and randomly decided to click youtube- and here is the video I was waiting for, thanks! Also I would love if you could do a more in depth video on ritual de fille. I'm planning on making a purchase from them but I haven't heard much about the blushes from anyone but you. Have a great day!
Can I just say how much I appreciate the depth you go into with your reviews! The swatch shots, the comparisons, the extensive use as opposed to first impressions.. so refreshing and fab ❤️
I was waiting for your review on these Auric shadows. I would like to get these but am also interested in Vieve, Jamie Genevieve’s line. Jamie’s products are powders that to me have a cream type appearance, both in her eyeshadow palette and her new blushes that just launched. I’m very interested in the Auric shadows and one of the glow lust shades. I thought everything looked beautiful on. I also like that you can use the glow lust several ways. 💜💚💜
I completely agree that the Glow Lust works better for oily skin (which seems counter-intuitive since it's more glossy than the "light-from-within" glow of the Charlotte Tilbury HFF) because the HFF breaks up quite frequently in contact with my natural face oil. The Glow Lust doesn't!
I always feel like I'm watching a bujee high class YTer from your intro music haha. Love your reviews and recommendations. Could you recommend a luminous cream/balm bronzer that is Cool toned please? Most of them are orange. TY! 😁💘
I am wearing the fenty beauty butta biscuit in this video- I find it to not be too warm on me! They also have amber which is a contour shade as well :)
@@AmandaZ thank you! I actually ordered Amber, darn I should've ordered butta biscuit but the swatches looked orange but it looked beautiful in this video. Thank you!

This video was so well done 😍 I don’t have the Charlotte tilbury product but so have the Auric one so I was really curious what the differences were 🙌🏽
Thank you! These were exactly the products I was looking to have compared to Auric. I already have the CT hollywood filter so I don't think I also need Auric's glowdust- or do you think I should try anyway? lol
Can’t wait to try Auric. Their smoke reflect has been sold out. Frustrating I keep seeing reviews and I can’t get it. Anyone know when it will be restocked?
Before watching Amanda’s videos I was a combination skin type of girl, but due to my medication it made my skin dry 😅 So thankful for your videos! Tried some of the blush and base makeup u have and they don’t disappoint! ❤️
I ordered the Glow Lust in morganite on launch day... I’m in love. I have really dry skin and it’s perfect as a hydrating primer. I’ve been kicking myself for skipping the Smoke Reflect. I’m definitely going to get one when they restock💜
Yay! I was waiting for this. If you could only pick one of the eyeshadows between Auric, Charlotte Tilbury and Tom Ford which would you choose? Could you rank them in order of your favourite to least favourite? I know you like them all but I’d like to try just one formula to start. Thanks!! Great review!
I am not Amanda, but my makeup tastes are identical and I have all of these. If I could only choose one product if would absolutely be the Natasha Denona chroma crystal top coats! Tom Ford and Charlotte Tilbury, I honestly find them a bit boring, especially for the price. The Natasha Denona give you satisfying, reflective, WET-looking sparkle. The Auric ones just aren't reflective enough, in my opinion. Except for the greenish shade, which has a really great, reflective top coat.
Your skin looks so good in this review!!! And your lips are so stunning! Also there is a new clean beauty brand at Sephora called Merit. I really want to hear what you think before I buy their line. Just wondering if you will give this brand a try?
I love your European vibe, subtle yet so pretty. Can you recommend a similar topper that is sheer with a thin micro glitter like Aurics? Since I am 59 I do prefer the finish of scattered glitter toppers without a foiled or wet effect.
I'm considering buying the glow dust, is it comparable in moisturization to the bobbi brown face base? very different products, but I love the feeling of the bobbi brown face base, and also like illuminating primers... also too lazy to use 2
I have temper and ego and the difference in texture between them is big. Ego (and I think defiance) are way more high impact and wet look. I'm definitely not opposed to a lighter look or a lighter texture, but I find the difference confusing. That said, I find the temper cream easier to use, but that could 100% be my skin tone and color.
It's crazy that Becca is not a brand anymore but I don't understand why people weren't talking about how close the Becca backlight priming filter and Charlotte Tilbury flawless filter #1 shade of Charlotte Tilbury and Becca BLPF shades are identical.
I don't see how I can afford to buy Auric and another foundation .. seems overkill. IMHO there are lots of products that you can use to achieve the glowy look and effect. But I think the cream eye shadows look nice.
I gotta say, I'm disappointed in the brand launch. I ADORE Sam but if you're going to try to dupe existing products, you have to do them better. Will be excited for their future launches!
I don't think she was trying to 'dupe' anything, at all. There's really ...not many ways to create something entirely wholely unique anymore. It's not always about reinventing the wheel. Plus, she obvs put a lot of thought and effort into these products to represent her (they def do) and her values (love that she didn't shit on PoC and make us wait for shades like how CT did even though CT has money to BLOW and huge investor funds🤷🏽). Not only this, but her products are much more longwear/oily skin friendly, which CT's are not, whilst having their own finish to set them apart again (which isn't necessary, but is a point of note). CTHFF and GL both fit niches the other does not, as well as both come together to provide more options across the board now. Some people's skin, oily or not, just isn't biologically going to jive w FF or perhaps they aren't a fan of CT for some reason; now they have more market options. That's a good thing and kind of doubly good for a working artist like me😅 I'm happy we both support someone as wonderful as Sam! She's a thoughtful, no-bs SWEETHEART, but I feel your take was rather (NON-MALICIOUSLY! Non-maliciouslyyyyyy😭😬) cynical.
It's bizarre that she's getting so much credit for inclusivity on this line when there are ZERO shades for fair skin. The fairest shade doesn't work on pale skin. There's videos on this and even her website doesn't list any fair shades. If you're fairer than NC20, none of these shades will work. That's not inclusive.
The issue is that many, many brands carry super pale shades and have for decades and decades, while deeper skinned people are consistently left out of product inclusivity. I am a very pale (aka just a white person) person myself, and while sometimes I can't find a shade light enough, in most products I can. Samantha R is being called inclusive because she's actually including shades for deep skin tones (something that CT notably doesn't do).
@@TheSim1derful yeah, noted... but when your entire brand is centered around the idea of inclusivity, it's probably not a good idea to explicitly exclude an entire end of the shade spectrum. She's said in many of her videos that brands shouldn't bother to release products without a full shade range and then she went and did it.
@@katiemcgann2529 yeah, Sam is specifically getting credit for offering more options for deeper skin. That's why it's considered inclusive. That's really it! Inclusivity towards lighter skin tones isn't important because of how accessible products are for us. We can go to 4 other brands and find our preferred liquid Luminizer, you know? When people are talking about inclusivity, they're talking about people being included who aren't USUALLY included. and that ain't us!
@@TheSim1derful I get what you're trying to say here but trying to make the argument that exclusion is actually inclusion is just not very compelling. But okay, agree to disagree!
