Thanks for the honest review. Temper is my first cream shadow ever. Really enjoy the cream but disappointed in the powder. Can barely pick it up with a finger and the glitter particles are larger than I prefer (I prefer more of a shimmer effect over glitter).

I think Auric pressed pigments are very similar to Tom Ford glitter pigments in eyeshadow duo. They are also pressed pretty hard which results in pretty spaced glitter particles (if you understand what I mean) and almost no base (which I realy realy like).
Loved the review... but... sounds pricey for not being able to easily use it. I love my LM sticks... but I have recently purchased the Elf shadow sticks and I’m pleased with them and surprised. Thanks Shelbey!

Thought this might be a good place to mention that I recently bought one of the Ulta Bouncy Cream shadows. I got Maple Pecan (described as a Taupe Shimmer). I really like the formula!! I don’t like a lot of warmth in my shadows (or bronzers/blushes) and even this color reads a little warm on me. But it is perfection with a bit of a gray/purple powder shadow I have dusted over it. The powder is not highly pigmented so it just subtly “cools” down this color. I’d like to get a few more colors of the Bouncy shadow! Thanks for the tip on this product, and great, honest review of Auric!
@emi I have liked a Revlon cream shadow in Chocolate Brown. It’s matte, not shimmery. Mine is about half gone and a bit dried out, but I can dampen a brush. I don’t know what the rest of the colors are like. This color I have is a nice cool darker brown. It’s more of a cream-to-powder.
Did u say $8!!! Wow my shipping was like $45 and that's not including taxes and duties to UK so Lord knows how much it would have been. For me buying the Tom Ford shadow duos actually works out cheaper than buying these from Auric! And the hollywood flawless filter seems like a drugstore price product compared to how much the glow lust would cost me, i really dont understand the pricing of these products, even without the crazy shipping costs they are still very over priced considering how new the brand is. She is claiming to be very inclusive with shade ranges (which is great) but where is the inclusivity in the prices? Ther was so much hype and promise with the launch and then when I went to order it was like a slap in the face, thank you for your honest review Shelby, it's very much appreciated x
Jia Khan I committed the mistake of buying and shipping to the UK, total for one glow lust incl. p&p, customs and duties was $121 aka £87.50. That's almost 3x the CT HFF. And unfortunately I don't like it. Huge regret buying.

I feel for u cuz that is such a blow especially at a time when things are so difficult for everyone. Could you ask for a refund maybe, I would message customer services and try asking for some of the money back, I had a similar situation when I ordered from Pat McGrath, and they very kindly agreed to refund the cost of the product, its worth a try x
Great review! I am almost out of my Charlotte HFF & have been contemplating replacing with the glow lust. I sometimes use the FF over my spf & call it a day. With the glow lust being a little more thick, I’m thinking I may like that more. 😬😬 I can’t decide
Shannon- that is exactly how I wear mine, over my spf & I love it. If I’m really dry I’ll add in a drop or 2 of vitamin E oil or if it’s to shiny, I will dust a light layer of a finishing powder on top. I hope this helps.😊
I have been a cream shadow "convert" since Laura Mercier introduced the Caviar Sticks, and I have not worn powder eyeshadows since. I so enjoy your tutorials because you so accurately detail the applications for best results. Due to your KIKO Milano review of eyeshadow sticks, I purchased a couple, and they are exactly as you stated. Also, your candor is most appreciated due to the cost of products, plus shipping, and that is a definite consideration whether to purchase or not.
I wanted to support Sam and buy the smoke reflects but the prices 😬 I was shocked when I went on the site and saw $39, then I realized that was only the USD price- not even the CAD price.
Thanks for making this! I only bought Temper and I've been wearing it every day, so it's nice to know you've had the most luck with that cream. I didn't think the glitter was supposed to be as sheer as I get it to be, so I guess I'll have to try pressing harder.

Canadian here.... waiting for my products that I ordered on launch day. I am def looking forward to testing them and reviewing them from the Canadian shipping perspective. I am hearing friends who paid for the products in USD (so add 30%), paid $15 USD for shipping, and then had to pay $30 CAD on arrival.

The cream shadow in temper is all I’m using on my eyes anymore. I don’t wear a lot of makeup and throwing on a little of that cream gives me a soft subtle glow on my fair skin that gives the amount of dimension I want.

I’ve seen a few shots of these in reviews.... and the cream shadows look kinda shrunken in the pot, like they’ve dried out a little and pulled away from the edges. I wouldn’t be happy with that myself after paying so much for them. Great review Shelby! 💜
I bought defiance and temper. I usually only use bronzer as an eyeshadow, because #momlife. I really enjoy the cream shadows as a quick application but I agree with the toppers. I wasn’t expecting to have to dig so hard to get the glitter out. It reminded me of the glitter shadows in Charlotte tilburys 4 pan shadows, which I was also disappointed about (at least the 2 I have)
So far I’ve only used the temper cream and defiance topper, but i loved the way that turned out! I used a brush to apply the cream - looks like you only used your fingers? Did you attempt with a brush at all? Also I love that you take a week to try out the products to give such a thorough review!
I only have temper, but noticed right away how tightly packed the powder is and how little payoff you get. I like the cream applied with a brush. I haven't tried my fingers yet. It did crease with a lot of layering.
Thinking someone could switch the top of the two products so you end up with the cream shadow and pigment combo you prefer together? But still have to invest a big chunk of $ 🤷♀️
I wear cream shadows almost exclusively but I have a terrible time finding satin shadows. I am 72 and don’t feel comfortable in glossy finishes but I find matte finishes so boring. Are there any satin cream shadows you could recommend?
Try looking into Lise Watier cream shadows. Subtle, lovely wash of color on the eyes. Very light and mousse like. I am 54 and use these for everyday makeup. I like them a lot.
I am loving mine so much! I’ve been wearing the defiance cream almost every day and it’s my perfect shade. So easy to blend and looks seamless. I have also been wearing the glow lust everyday with just a little concealer and bronzer. I feel like it looks more natural than my CT flawless filter, but I love them both.

I hope that they release a really deep rich brown. I don’t mind that Sam wanted to do luxury makeup and it’s a splurge for sure, but it needs something to add depth and the current range doesn’t allow for that.
Hello. I wanted to see if the formula has changed or dried up since you have purchased. I heard someone else say their's did and I wanted to see how yours is since it's coming up to a hear.
I’ve had the same experience with the Temper shadow topper! Very densely packed and barely any pigment comes off on the finger. I had to dig in and warm it up a bit to get a better payoff. Otherwise, I love the color and cream shadow!
I was really disappointed in the smoke reflects. The cream formula is nice enough (but less cream product compared to competitors) but one of mine came kind of separated in the pot. The topper is so hard pressed in both shades I got that it's a bit gritty and hard to pick up product. The toppers for me were really disappointing and I get a lot of fallout as the day goes on. I won't be using those. I just wish I hadn't spent $39 each on these. As for the glow lust, it's nice and while I find the texture to be thicker initially, when blended out as presumably intended, it's indistinguishable from the Charlotte tilbury. So I think if you have the CT, you really don't need the auric. Overall it's a nice launch, but the price point is pretty absurd and most people who follow Sam already have nearly identical products in their collections.
I agree with a lot of your points! Like I said, if I were just a general consumer and not someone who reviewed makeup I probably would have picked up 1-2 products max. I took a look at Temptalia’s review after posting my video and noticed she reviewed the pigments as being harder to work with since they’re so tightly packed so I definitely think that could be improved upon, although, I get the vibe that maybe Samantha wanted them more sheer? As a preference for me, the mousse style shadows aren’t my favorite to work with but I know a lot of people prefer them over a stick so it’s hard to judge based on that.
As soon as I heard the prices I peaced out. For a BRAND NEW brand, unestablished with no consumer reviews...I'm not about to pay Charlotte Tilbury prices. Hell, I don't even pay Charlotte Tilbury those prices! I know damn well that if it wasn't Samantha Ravndahl selling the stuff people would have FREAKED OUT over those prices.
These shadows are like the Tom Ford. Tom Ford is around $60. I believe Tom Ford pigment is more chunky. I have seen a lot of people using a brush not their fingers. I think a lot of people complaining about the price but this is a luxury brand. CT are just creams are$32 for just a cream. I am not going to buy the eyeshadow because I was looking for more of a true rose gold for my collection and temper is not the color I want. I think otherwise with the pigments that is a preference. I own 2 Roen palettes so I feel like I need more glitter. I will be purchasing The Glowlust. It more creamy and perfect for dry skin. Also one thing you forgot to mention is Auric is Cruelty free and vegan. CT is not.
I have a couple of the Tom Ford ones, and the cream shadow is super nice, but the powder topper is SUPER chunky to me (on the Tom Ford).I did pick up the Glowlust though and have been missing into my moisturizer in the mornings to and it makes me look “not dead” and then use concealer where I need it, so that’s making life easy and it’s not super prone to transfer onto my mask.
That's strange, I've always heard makeup compacts with mirrors can't be recycled with the mirrors. But a lot of people don't remove the mirrors if they do recycle, wouldve been better to do it without the mirrors, than make the packaging smaller in my opinion.
I got 2 products from her, and my total was $94 total. That's VERY expensive. They also haven't arrived yet, and I don't even think shipped yet, and its been over a week. But, its covid, AND an ice storm, AND its coming from another country. So I won't hold that against them I guess LOL
I wasn’t really that impressed with my defiance. I love Sam! And was excited for the brand, but the color and consistency of the defiance cream wasn’t my fav compared to the charolette tilbury. The glittery topper was also very yellow of a gold.
Defiance cream is definitely my least favorite but I really thought the topper turned it around! Definitely more of a fan of the topper in that duo but I don’t think bronze cream shadows compliment my eyes the best so that’s probably why!
I bought ego and the cream is fine, but the topper is just too hard-packed. It looks dull on the eyes. I’ll use it because it was pricey but won’t buy anymore of them 🤷🏻♀️😬
Shipping to Europe costs 50$ and then you also risk paying additional taxes which could amount up to 50% of the purchase price AND shipping combined. So yeah. No way jose that I will spend such an amount on products I can get similarly and which perform equally good if not better (Charlotte tilbury, Tom Ford...)
Her international shipping fees are ridiculously high, so I won't be trying any of these. For example, I has an order for $54 and the shipping costs were going to be $45 - which doesn't include UK taxes!
Honestly me too :( I find I can only wear it max 2-3 days in a row, and then give my skin a break.. but I just love it too much I really wash and clean my face after using mine!!

I’ve seen a few shots of these in reviews.... and the cream shadows look kinda shrunken in the pot, like they’ve dried out a little and pulled away from the edges. I wouldn’t be happy with that myself after paying so much for them. Great review Shelby! 💜
I love the glow lust . It’s amazing.
I bought defiance and temper. I usually only use bronzer as an eyeshadow, because #momlife. I really enjoy the cream shadows as a quick application but I agree with the toppers. I wasn’t expecting to have to dig so hard to get the glitter out. It reminded me of the glitter shadows in Charlotte tilburys 4 pan shadows, which I was also disappointed about (at least the 2 I have)
So far I’ve only used the temper cream and defiance topper, but i loved the way that turned out! I used a brush to apply the cream - looks like you only used your fingers? Did you attempt with a brush at all?
Also I love that you take a week to try out the products to give such a thorough review!

I only have temper, but noticed right away how tightly packed the powder is and how little payoff you get. I like the cream applied with a brush. I haven't tried my fingers yet. It did crease with a lot of layering.
Because I don’t love glitter at all I LOVE how sheer and tight the top pigments are. I can use them and get a nice shimmer without so much glitter.
Thinking someone could switch the top of the two products so you end up with the cream shadow and pigment combo you prefer together? But still have to invest a big chunk of $ 🤷♀️
I wear cream shadows almost exclusively but I have a terrible time finding satin shadows. I am 72 and don’t feel comfortable in glossy finishes but I find matte finishes so boring. Are there any satin cream shadows you could recommend?
Try looking into Lise Watier cream shadows. Subtle, lovely wash of color on the eyes. Very light and mousse like. I am 54 and use these for everyday makeup. I like them a lot.

I am loving mine so much! I’ve been wearing the defiance cream almost every day and it’s my perfect shade. So easy to blend and looks seamless. I have also been wearing the glow lust everyday with just a little concealer and bronzer. I feel like it looks more natural than my CT flawless filter, but I love them both.

I hope that they release a really deep rich brown. I don’t mind that Sam wanted to do luxury makeup and it’s a splurge for sure, but it needs something to add depth and the current range doesn’t allow for that.

I’ve had the same experience with the Temper shadow topper! Very densely packed and barely any pigment comes off on the finger. I had to dig in and warm it up a bit to get a better payoff. Otherwise, I love the color and cream shadow!
Didn’t love that about the duo. Otherwise, it would probably be my favorite!
I was really disappointed in the smoke reflects. The cream formula is nice enough (but less cream product compared to competitors) but one of mine came kind of separated in the pot. The topper is so hard pressed in both shades I got that it's a bit gritty and hard to pick up product. The toppers for me were really disappointing and I get a lot of fallout as the day goes on. I won't be using those. I just wish I hadn't spent $39 each on these. As for the glow lust, it's nice and while I find the texture to be thicker initially, when blended out as presumably intended, it's indistinguishable from the Charlotte tilbury. So I think if you have the CT, you really don't need the auric. Overall it's a nice launch, but the price point is pretty absurd and most people who follow Sam already have nearly identical products in their collections.
I agree with a lot of your points! Like I said, if I were just a general consumer and not someone who reviewed makeup I probably would have picked up 1-2 products max. I took a look at Temptalia’s review after posting my video and noticed she reviewed the pigments as being harder to work with since they’re so tightly packed so I definitely think that could be improved upon, although, I get the vibe that maybe Samantha wanted them more sheer? As a preference for me, the mousse style shadows aren’t my favorite to work with but I know a lot of people prefer them over a stick so it’s hard to judge based on that.
As soon as I heard the prices I peaced out. For a BRAND NEW brand, unestablished with no consumer reviews...I'm not about to pay Charlotte Tilbury prices. Hell, I don't even pay Charlotte Tilbury those prices! I know damn well that if it wasn't Samantha Ravndahl selling the stuff people would have FREAKED OUT over those prices.
These shadows are like the Tom Ford. Tom Ford is around $60. I believe Tom Ford pigment is more chunky. I have seen a lot of people using a brush not their fingers. I think a lot of people complaining about the price but this is a luxury brand. CT are just creams are$32 for just a cream. I am not going to buy the eyeshadow because I was looking for more of a true rose gold for my collection and temper is not the color I want. I think otherwise with the pigments that is a preference. I own 2 Roen palettes so I feel like I need more glitter. I will be purchasing The Glowlust. It more creamy and perfect for dry skin. Also one thing you forgot to mention is Auric is Cruelty free and vegan. CT is not.

I have a couple of the Tom Ford ones, and the cream shadow is super nice, but the powder topper is SUPER chunky to me (on the Tom Ford).I did pick up the Glowlust though and have been missing into my moisturizer in the mornings to and it makes me look “not dead” and then use concealer where I need it, so that’s making life easy and it’s not super prone to transfer onto my mask.

When Auric was released, another influencer said that the packaging was compact because of environmental concerns.
That's strange, I've always heard makeup compacts with mirrors can't be recycled with the mirrors. But a lot of people don't remove the mirrors if they do recycle, wouldve been better to do it without the mirrors, than make the packaging smaller in my opinion.
I got 2 products from her, and my total was $94 total. That's VERY expensive. They also haven't arrived yet, and I don't even think shipped yet, and its been over a week. But, its covid, AND an ice storm, AND its coming from another country. So I won't hold that against them I guess LOL

I wasn’t really that impressed with my defiance. I love Sam! And was excited for the brand, but the color and consistency of the defiance cream wasn’t my fav compared to the charolette tilbury. The glittery topper was also very yellow of a gold.
I have one pot of Charlotte Tillbury and Ive yet to find a cream that compares. Some that come close...but CT is the best
Defiance cream is definitely my least favorite but I really thought the topper turned it around! Definitely more of a fan of the topper in that duo but I don’t think bronze cream shadows compliment my eyes the best so that’s probably why!
I bought ego and the cream is fine, but the topper is just too hard-packed. It looks dull on the eyes. I’ll use it because it was pricey but won’t buy anymore of them 🤷🏻♀️😬
