    Such a pretty pastel mint.
I recently dyed yarn with Wilton's Juniper and it was pink at first. Eventually most of it turned green, but I was disappointed it wasn't more even. I started with cool water for a slow bind.

Hi @cindyrowits1536 I use glauber's salt as a levelling agent I dissolve it with the dye (eg i don't make stock solutions) I bring water to below boiling add dye glauber's salt dissolve both fully add acid of choice volume depending how much your dying thats trail and error im afraid....then reduce the heat or (you will burn the wool) once at that stage add your wool then stir constantly in 30mins you should see even dye job but colours like dark green black blue purple may take 1hour in the pot and double the dye...
      hope this helps you out
      All the best mark 👍

Some colors are trickier, and have a pigment that dissolves slower and so can be a bit of a surprise at the end. (Dharma's avocado is one color like this for me.) I like the glauber's salt suggestion

@@ChemKnitsTutorials thank you glauber's salt it works for me slows down the dying process so all dye pigments strike at the same time meaning solid colours.
unfortunately it doesn't work aswell from stock solutions as pigments sink to the bottom of container.
Dye to pot ( boiling )
      Glauber's salt
      Acid of choice
      Dissolve well
      Reduce heat
      Add yarn
      gentle stir 10/15 mins
      Check until happy
darker the colour this could take up to 1hour 😊

@@ChemKnitsTutorials had a brain wave you could try that process with your old/new stock of dharma fire engine red to you see the difference because that dye needs alot of heat thank you for the videos 😁😁😁

Wow, that turned out a lot lighter than I expected! But, like you said, just goes to show that you can't just the DOS by how the dye bath looks.

This wintry color was dyed with an unsponsored zip tie.

Where can I get the yarn to dye? I can't seem to find any that you don't have to be a whole seller..

At first I thought you were asking about my shop (chemknitscreations.etsy.com/) Whoops! I have some links in the video description to where I source my yarn, but you can also find some different sources on this blog post: www.chemknits.com/2023/01/where-to-buy-bare-yarns-undyed-yarns-in.html
I buy a lot of yarn for my videos from KnitPicks which doesn't require a wholesale account.
