  • Our Home Decorators Collection Wynn 54 inch LED ceiling fan with wireless remote was turning itself on and off. I suspect it was picking up interference from another device or one of my neighbor's fans. I resolved this by moving the fan to a different frequency using the switches on the fan and remote.

    Bro... you're a freaking god! someone changed the switches on the control of my mother's in law fan, she asked me to help her cuz the fan stop spinning, I searched for at least an a hour for the combination (cuz she doesn't have like any screwdrivers to disassemble the top part) until I found your video, thx so much!!

    3rd attempt at changing frequency hasn't fixed it yet. Getting pretty frustrated. If the next attempt doesn't work, it's going on the trash and I'm buying one with NO remote. Glad I'm not alone though. Thanks for the video. Hubby kept telling my I installed it wrong. Umm no! LOL

    Been having the fans/lights for almost a year and just kinda learned how to live with it till they started getting annoying. They would turn on right after I would turn them off like if my neighbor was messing with me all the time. Thanks for the video

    This video is incredibly well done. Well explained, stop and look pause shots, close ups, hilarious clips in between. Give yourself a pat on the back. I who am NOT handy at all will be attempting this after I visit my breaker first (I do enjoy living grin) to do this. Garage fob by condo neighbours sets it off in the middle of the night. The California breezy look is not good at 3 a.m. Thanks!

      Thanks for the kind words, it means a lot. I hope it works for you. For what it’s worth, ours is still fixed since I made this video and it’s been a while. Good luck! 👍

    Thank you, going to try this (again). I changed the frequency once after my light switch kept coming on over night, but suddenly my fan started coming on. Hopefully it’s just bad luck of having my frequencies match my neighbours again. Your mention of it happening twice was really appreciated.

    • @thefiXfiles
      @thefiXfiles  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I was pretty discouraged after it was still happening the first change. It’s been a while since I made the second one and it hasn’t turned itself on anymore. I guess you’re unlucky like me lol

    After watching this video, I’m SO GLAD I have old fashioned pull chains on my totally durable 21 year old fans…The new fans in my grandmothers house have a life of their own. So frustrating!!!! Gonna try this to see if they work

    Thank you for this video. I have a unrelated issues where my remote and fan receiver have the same dip settings (1 and 4 are off, 2 and 3 are on) but for some reason they would NOT pair, even with shut off at the breaker -very strange! Thanks to your video, I learn how to take the panels off and access the remote module without breaking stuff, change both to new/different dip settings and now its back in action. Thanks again.

    Well done video. I think I’d rather call my neighbors and tell them to change their switches. Trial and error? Very random occurrence. Also it doesn’t happen for weeks, then daily. Sometimes slow, sometimes fast, sometimes with light sometimes not. I’m ready to disable the whole thing as it’s freezing in Utah and I’m not in the mood to have a fan on.

    • @marniedavidson6955
      @marniedavidson6955 3 года назад

      Mine acts the same way, and I’m ready to toss the whole thing out. Nothing has been so random as this fan light.

    • @markrobinson891
      @markrobinson891 3 года назад

      @@marniedavidson6955 I bought and installed one with a good old fashioned pull chain. I’m not too lazy to get up and pull a chain. It’s funny how no other remote control device acts that way. If RF caused a ceiling fan to switch itself on and off, i would think a garage door or etc would act up too.

  • @RadioRich100
    @RadioRich100 Год назад +4

    Your not changing frequency your changing digital codes. The frequency is the same. Changing the codes wont always fix it. The problem is not just neighbors its electrical noise causing the reciever to false. Those remotes dont have that great of a range, unless u live in an apartment. My neighbors are far away and it happens. Sometimes u have to live with it.
