Ian and Ritchie being friendly to each other makes me wanna cry 😢 why wouldn’t it be like that forever? 😭😭
Ritchie's guitar tone is unbelievable......thanks man in black...
Great way to celebrate Ritchie's 72nd birthday. Happy Birthday Ritchie!!
FOURTEENTH of April
Ritchie Is A Beast.
I'm glad I saw them on this tour. These were great shows. Happy Birthday Ritchie. RIP Jon. To the rest of the band, God Bless.
Super
Ritchie Blackmore playing Beethoven 9th and Jimi Hendrix playing Star Spangled Banner at Woodstock are the supremes pinnacles of the Everestian marriage of Heavy Metal and Classical music. Of course, there is Uli Jon Roth , there is Yngwie Malmsteen and so many great masters of this marriage, but Ritchie and Hendrix are the greatest Pioneers.
I was at this concert in St Louis, Mo back in '85.
Genial !!!
Saw that tour in Chicago and Indianapolis!
Purple had their problems but creating great music was not one of them. You can come count on one hand the bands that lasted like Purple and so many talented members through line up changes. Happy Birthday Ritchie. Thanks for what you did for Rock. You made it interesting to say the least.
Dobre
Feliz cumpleaños Ritchie Blackmore 79
Ritchie and Jon two Maestri
Consider me mad but, at the beginning of the video, I swear I have seen Gillan and Blackmore communicate with each other...
and not in an insulting way^
and smiling at each other
Ritchie Guitar God Blackmore
Jon Douglas Lord is the GOAT rip 🙏
asta este adevarata muzica de ascultat
I.L
RIP
Cuanta música!
I think it combines bits of Wring That Neck improvisation and the improvisation Jon used to do at the end of their shows in 72-74 :D
I have been a fan of Deep Purple most of my life (57 years). However, the version of this on the Rainbow Finyl Vinyl compilation was to me better at least what Ritchie played. I also thought the Purple album that JLT sang on was also good and not to forget the last Rainbow album with Doogie on vocals. There was some great guitar work on that also.
As you probably know this was originally a Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow track.
I'd always hoped that someone had figured out a way to get Schroeder from Peanuts involved with this bit. Absolutely loved this laser show when I saw the band in the 1980s, although I could swear there was a sequence during the guitar solo where Beethoven put his hands to his ears about the "noise."
Irony of ironies is that Jon Lord is filling in for Don Airey here. Extra points if you're from the Detroit area and you think of a particular Highland Appliance commercial any time you hear "Für Elise
". At one show, my friends and I turned to each other when Jon started playing it, and we all said the same thing: "No, Jonathan can't come out and play right now. He's practicing the piano."
Interesting how Ian and Ritchie stick out their tongue at the same time... 0:36
Ian Paice said in an interview that he had a car mirror to see the laser beethoven behind him and to be on beat with it.
Anyone notice the resemblance between Blackmore and Beethoven?
Is there going to be an official release of this show?
MrKayley10 - thats what I'm wondering.
Probably not, but the show that should be released is this one from Providence from early in the tour. Ian's voice was still strong, the video and audio (stereo) are also much better. So far only one track surfaced, Space Truckin', ruclips.net/video/pbbVJB0SKNY/видео.html
I'm wondering if the interplay at the beginning was Ritchie telling Ian to get away from his part of the stage. Glenn Hughes said that Ritchie used to do that to him years before this.
hes saying something about the camera probably
3:28, this little Beethoven is a freaky part of the show
Okay, so was this show filmed in its entirety? There have been rumors about for decades. Now there are 3 songs released from it....do we have the full one?
Four. This, previous uploads - Knocking and Smoke and Space Truckin' released years ago on New Live & Rare 84-00 DVD
Svilen Trifonov Somebody is releasing it in bits and pieces. There must be a master tape of this concert that they're teasing us with.
told ya there was lazers at this show! : )
0:27 - 0:31 Ritchie shows the camera like a serial killer 😂
camera man:sweat in anxiety‘’‘
