On this week's 'Roger (Ebert) & Me,' an imitation 'Siskel & Ebert' movie review show that keeps 'At The Movies' alive, film critics Brett Arnold of The New Flesh & markreviewsmovies.com's Mark Dujsik take on eleven (11) new release movies out in theaters and streaming the week of Friday August 23rd 2024 (08/23/2024) and also one movie that came out last week.
Check out markreviewsmovies.com for several more movies reviewed by Mark. Brett's a slacker; Mark did 15 for today!
For more on Blink Twice, The Crow, Strange Darling, and more genre titles, check out The New Flesh, Brett's other show, out on Monday.
Thank you to Banshee Beat for the incredible original theme song. Alien Ant Farm's music video for 'Movies' closes the show. And thanks to Mary Houlihan for the killer hand-drawn artwork.
"Roger (Ebert) & Me" is a celebration of the late, great Roger Ebert, aiming to keep his unique spirit of film criticism alive by reviewing new movies in the easily digestible format that he pioneered. In other words, it's a movie review podcast. A podcast for regular moviegoers and people who like to keep up with new release movies.
Every Friday, join Brett and veteran film critic Mark Dujsik as they review all the movies set for theatrical or streaming release that day and let you know if they're worth your time and money.
Wow!!! Brett got to 11... I'm impressed!
Hey Brett, it’s your Twitter buddy Nelson. Just walked outta this. I really liked it and appreciated it. But I gotta say, the twists and turns are pretty obvious? Are people surprised by where it went? I called that right away. So when I kept hearing about twists, I didn’t really see any. I knew right away that it was basically a (SPOILER SPOILER) what if the woman was the bad guy movie. Which I appreciated! It’s nice to see a movie that says what if we shouldn’t believe all women. Cuz ultimately that’s what it’s doing.
While I do tease about how long this episode is, I do enjoy the fact that you guys included so much this week... and I hope you're all prepared for the terrible movies coming out Labor Day weekend.
Brett's perfunctory use of the word "Trigger" triggered me.
