  • Hey ya'll tonight I'm checking out Geauga Lake Park, an abandoned amusment park located in Aurora, Ohio. I actually visited this park when I was younger and when the park was still operating, so this explore was pretty nostalgic for me. Also I explored/filmed the waterpark side of the lake which was one of the first videos on my channel, you can watch that here. • EXPLORING ABANDONED SE...
I honestly don't know why I didn't explore this side of the park sooner, It was also under strict supervision and the cops kept a close eye on the property, so I never wanted to risk it. Although, recently when the news broke that they'd be razing the entire property where the park sat, and turning it into a suburban neighborhood, I immediately knew I wanted to get inside and get one last video for all of you that enjoyed this park just like I did as a kid. Everyone online has said for years that nothing at all remains at the park, or at least since they demolished the front entrance and removed the big dipper in around 2016. So I never had a lot of motivation to really risk exploring it. But that is simply not true, although I too expected to find nothing inside this old park, we definitely found WAY more than we expected, including old walk ways, rollercoaster platforms, rollercoaster railing/track and even an old rollercoaster cart. This was an absolutely awesome explore and I've been excited to share this one with you, Enjoy.
Some clips from when the park was open are sampled from “This Is…” with permission from John Oblender. Big thank you to him and his friends for capturing this amazing footage while the park was still open. Link to this great video is here; • This Is Geauga Lake - ...

    (UPDATE)
Hey y’all so as some of you might know, going to these locations is not cheap, I actually work a part time job right now to support most of my trips. My goal has always been to make this show the best it can possibly be. Hotel stays, gas, food, and renting these locations all adds up, and especially with inflation this year, it’s been especially hard to get out and travel. I never want to ask anything from you guys, it’s already amazing knowing you watch and support my videos. That in itself literally means the world to me. But if you want to support me a step further and leave a donation, it’d be more than appreciated. I have been in the process of setting up a patreon and I finally have it all up to go. I have 3 different tiers for now and all will feature exclusive content for the kind donation you left. This is something I will post very often on, because if you guys are donating to me, I just simply want to make it worth the money, because again like I said before I want to connect with you guys and grow this channel with you all, and just make it the best it can be. So here are the tiers for now, they will be updated once my merchandise drops!

I don't know if I could emotionally handle seeing this being a roller coaster nerd, this isn't Cascade Park, Shady Grove, or Rainbow Gardens that I'm way too young to have memories of (to name a few former amusement parks I've been to the site of) or like Williams Grove where I have (perhaps delusional) sense of hope seeing the coaster still standing.

I’m from Sydney Australia. Wonderland Sydney was amazing. The original guy who built the park in 85 sold it in 94 to a amusement company. (Chinese based developer) and they ran it down into the ground effectively bankrupting it. They tore it down and now it’s a industrial area. Worth more for the land than a theme park.

This was a bit different imo , they closed it to close the competition, even if it was no longer competition.. the big dipper was built in 1925 iirc.
Cedar fair didn't put anything new into the park, they shifted the water park area, and most of the children's rides to the sea world side, and left the old water park, and rainbow island I think it was called, just blocked off but visible. The only plan they had for this park was to close it. Especially after they bought the paramount parks.

Great video! I was here every year since I was a kid in the late 80s up until 2001. I used to go to Sea World with my family and Geauga Lake. Then when Six Flags bought it. Big part of growing up. Definitely agree it is so sad to see if like this. So many memories there.

my parents surprised me with the one and only vacation we ever went on back in 2005 after i got out of 3rd grade. I remember Beaver Town and standing on tippy toes to make myself taller so i could drive the go karts. (i was still too short) Getting mine and my sibling caricatures drawn. the log ride.....I miss this place and wish i could have had the chance to experience those things again... RIP Geauga Lake..

That was grizzley run you guys were seeing, it was a river rapid ride not a race track. The loading track based on the red paint was the big dipper coaster. Im thinking that opem field im thinking that was where the raging wolf bobs, i could be wrong. I was there 20 years ago, its changed a little. This place was a huge part of my childhood in the 80s and early 90s it still suck all these years later that is gone.

So many memories over the years, I still miss it. I live a few minutes away and pass it several times a week, even though nothing is there I still always look that way. It's good to see the land is going to get used though, hopefully they pay homage to the park when the new stuff goes up.
I'm almost positive that kids' waterslide boat you stood on was the same one my son swore on when he was really little lol, he was super mad that his new swimming trunks wouldn't slide on it. oh man, that's great, thanks for the video!

I went on a trip in 2005 and we got Cedar Fair passes and went to a few of the parks. We made a stop and Geauga Lake and I have a shirt I got there. I was a huge coaster nerd at the time. I'm not quite as big on theme parks and coasters as I was then and I'm sure there are a few other places/rides that have come and gone that I have missed out on, but I do thinks its pretty cool that I got to go there and super weird to see how there is nothing left. Sad its gone, it would be pretty cool to have a house where a floorless B&M coaster once sat though.

Thank you for this video. There's not much left, that's for sure. When i first started going, they had a ski lift that went over the park, and Geauga Dog. But one of the last times i went Serial Thriller was the newest attraction, and you could ride it to your hearts content as the line was short. One gentleman had a shirt that stated the thousands of times he rode the coaster. I hope they gave him a free bag of them delicious fries😋 for his effort or something. Again thanks, kinda harsh seeing this iconic park thrown down in this way.
