Man I really love this enclosure...your attention to detail is impeccable!!! I'm hooked on watching your old builds, all due to your unique style and modern take on enclosures. They seem futuristic to me. Great job once again
Dude, you are a true master carpenter and basshead... You are awesome and make everything look so simple... Beautiful job! Had no idea you fab that dude's enclosures... Well done brah...
Holy cow Mark you hit that box outta the ballpark. I'm a personal friend of Jp and I know he's absolutely gotta love it. Two thumbs up in the air for you brotha basshead and friend much love and respect for you.
Damn man, great job! That box looks amazing! If you are ever bored and feel like building a random box for a 12" and giving it away, I am your guy haha
You don't just do awesome work, you describe the steps in the most comprehensive way possible. Also you make people destroy their mice from all that like smashing action.
That JP guy is a good dude. I bought some wire off his website and his price tags where good I want a box but want 2 12". But each sub has its own box. Sometimes ya like to take one out i had 2 15s. Subs nowadays slam way harder than my old subs.
Build an out feed table on casters that is the same height as your table saw. You can role it into place when you cut long or heavy stuff on the table saw. Lock the casters and clamp it to the table saw for stability. When you don't need it you can move it and use it as an assembly table. Just a suggestion- my shop is not very big and it works for me.
Subscribed to both you and Johnathan price. You guys give me tons of motivation to do custom projects not only audio but General wood working as well. THANKS!!!
Going to be 're-doing a sub box for 4 8" MTX subs on a pontoon boat. Going to direct the air movement more forward and make the sub box way more appealing. Make it more of a show piece then just a wood box that goes Boom!
DUDE!!!! Thank you so so dam much!!!! Why? Cuz you simply threw in the fact of using MATHEMATICS!!!! Sure all your doing is cutting wood. And measuring. Ok simple. But to gain what your trying to accomplish it takes a bit more!!. And this is what I had to show a very dear loved family member... and now he’s all on fire!!! His grade in both math and woods shop have changed unbelievably from d average to a- to b+ in math and from d average to a in woods
Impressive work. I wonder if you are still in the car audio business or if you've moved onto something more lucrative, like custom interiors. You've got the skills to do a ton of different stuff. Thanks for the video.
A trick i like to use when doing a double baffel is once i have my woofer locations layed out, i drill the center hole for my jasper jig pin through both layers of mdf. That works very well as does your flush trim bit.
So then do you cut one hole then flip it over to the other side? What if it's already attached to the rest of the enclosure? Or did you find a bit that's 1"5/8 long? That would be nice to have.
I align both pieces and clamp them together. Drill the 1/8" center hole through both pieces of mdf. Then you can use the jasper jig to cut the woofer hole on one baffle and the larger hole on the other baffle which would be the face and that hole would fit around the outside perimeter of the woofer. Both baffles align perfectly
mark gipson ooooohh ok so you cut one circle then flip it over and cut the other because you already drilled the center hole all the way through. Got it. Makes sense now.
Awesome work as usual, and after watching his channel when he puts it in the truck IDE rather of seen the box wrapped in vinayl. Just think it would of matched the interior better. But regardless stellar work.
Nice Work Mark, I Seen It On His Channel. Haha Fit Just Right, Cant Wait To Hear The Final Install. Nice Channel You Have Here Mark, Its Great To See Channels And People Like You Willing To Show And Help Others Out In The Car Audio World. Great Vid
502 Audio Thanks man! Glad you like it! Pay it forward and help spread the knowledge so we can build this community into something positive as opposed to negative bashing!
I watched JP fit the box into his truck , looks awesome ! I love the way the embossed logo follows the contour of the seats , Did you plan that? I'm a bit of a perfectionist myself and that is pure perfection! Awesome job on the box and vid , Thanks for sharing!
cool build, would love to know how it performed. Really big fan of kerfed ports and I try to do every project of mine with one. Can't say I care for the router / table saw safety part - in the end I understand you are teaching many who have no flipping clue so it has merit being in the video
sir..I'm trying to do 4 sundown sa 10s in a blowthrough in a 06 f150 supercrew wondering how should I position subs...v shape or straight across or two on each side?
Hey Mark, once again nice box!!!!!!Nice tutorial as well man. Thanks for your willingness to help us all get better. Got a question for yah. Would you consider doing a tutorial showing how to calculate 45's so as to keep the width of your slot port the same at the bend and throughout the length of the port. I.e., obviously you don't just slap a 45 in there and call it a day. How do you determine the width of the 45? Simple I know but to make a good box, like yours, very valuable information. Thanks for your positive attitude too man.
I have a 88 convertible camaro very little room to work and place everything in the trunk including a med size noz bottle I already have a set up I want to use because I know how powerful it is (2 alpine1242d type R and a monster MRV 1507) ANY Suggestions on making it all fit? I built one but didn't like it because of the weight
When ever I build a box without fasteners I put 1/8th inch dowels space as equally as I can on all my mating surfaces. Is this good or bad in your opinion
How can I get a small subwoofer box to fit in the rear deck of my 2013 fusion, between my 6x9's and not take up a lot of trunk space? I'm not looking for something big, or hi powered, I want flat response down to 25 - 30 Hz. Can you do that?
Hey bud any box ideas for 3/4 12s in a Chevy cruze with the port on the drivers side facing towards the cab and the subs themselves facing out towards the trunk?
Great job on your videos. You do awesome work. I am about to start on a custom install in my 04 VW golf. Trying to come up with a couple cool looking ideas for 2 AmericanBass XFL 15s. Sealed or ported. Any suggestions I would greatly appreciate ... Thank you and keep doing the awesome work you do...
I dig your Chanel, you truly do some beautiful work. this video, I see you did an open woofer box. I realize you have some advantages and disadvantages to an open box Vs separated woofers, Myself, I'm not sure what they might be. I'm building a 4x10 cabinet for my Bass Guitar. right now they are in a ported open box. I have a 15 in a ported box taking care of my low end. I'm thinking about putting the 10 in separate sealed boxes. I'm thinking I'll get a tighter, little higher end bass. each box will be about .8cf. crossed over at about 800hz. yea or nay?
Hi mate, i was wondering why you not cut the edges of all the sides at 45 degree angles and then glue them together so you have more surface area and not need screws? P.S the finished resualt is really nice i like your innovative way of making the decals.
I'm looking to build a box for a 80 caprice 2 sundown audio 12" but the trunk floor has a big hump towards the back of the seat I don't want the box to pick up the trunk space how could I design this box
Hey man, i love the videos and work you do. Freaking nice. I like how you said jp was a big body building guy. But when you took that picture with him, you almost dwarfed him.
This box is impractical for most of us if I put 5 8s in my console of the work truck they would be damaged in first couple days. It's a work truck. But this box is bad ass just needed LEDs under JP logo. Most of us don't have access to all those tools to build a custom box like that. I been building for 22 years (houses) and I don't have some of the tools used jigs, router bits glue spray gun. Here's how to build a custom box with $10,000 in tools
Noob question. As long as you keep the internal box volume and port area requirements does it matter what shape your box is? I ask due to needing to make a triangular box at home.

You don't just do awesome work, you describe the steps in the most comprehensive way possible. Also you make people destroy their mice from all that like smashing action.
Greatest little box I've ever seen!!
That JP guy is a good dude. I bought some wire off his website and his price tags where good I want a box but want 2 12". But each sub has its own box. Sometimes ya like to take one out i had 2 15s. Subs nowadays slam way harder than my old subs.

Thank you! You are an artist and crafstman!

You're talented with that wood working. I'm impressed.

You have the hands of Christ on you bro. Awesome Craftsmanship.
Instead of me learning all this I'll pay you to build my box. Hell I'm still trying to make a circle with a jigsaw. Informative vid non the less.

Nice!! 👏
I have my own plan for a woofer box that utilizes my car's rear seat and keeps its function as a seat have you done anything like that?
Hi mate, i was wondering why you not cut the edges of all the sides at 45 degree angles and then glue them together so you have more surface area and not need screws?
P.S the finished resualt is really nice i like your innovative way of making the decals.
Great video, you're the best, no doubt. Hug from Brazil. Thank you, keep posting!
Do you ever build any fibreglass molded enclosures ? P.s. I wish your channel was around when I was learning the art of car audio. Love this channel!
What would I need to do to get a box built for under the backseat of my 98 z71 ex cab
Can I use small staples ? I have 1/2 inch mdf cut already and mdf seems like craps like cardboard and don't want splits happening or a certain nail ?

do you change the polarity of the on top mounted chassis? anything else wouldn't make any sense would it?
I'm looking to build a box for a 80 caprice 2 sundown audio 12" but the trunk floor has a big hump towards the back of the seat I don't want the box to pick up the trunk space how could I design this box
Hey man, i love the videos and work you do. Freaking nice. I like how you said jp was a big body building guy. But when you took that picture with him, you almost dwarfed him.
did you think he literally meant big body builder? lol good one
How do you create support or brace for your woofer. For example at the bottom of the speaker.
Wow so cool 😎
Brilliant.

I love your work. I need a idea for sub box in 1972 Ford convertible. 2 18"
How come you did not fill the gaps in the curvature with the fiberglass reinforcement filler?
Have to point out that the kerf is functionally useless in this application but still a nice touch. I admire the desire to go all out you do nice work
CarAudioFabrication where is the speed foam availabe from? This is cool Mark Thanks for a great year of Awesome Vids!
Www.uafproducts.com sells the speed foam.
Noob question. As long as you keep the internal box volume and port area requirements does it matter what shape your box is? I ask due to needing to make a triangular box at home.
The shape of the box doesn't matter, but the way the sub is firing will make a difference.
Could you recommend a design for 3 12in JL Audio w6 v2s?....it's going into a SUV, Thanks.
