Guess what NMAS (North Miss All Stars) have this nailed down the roots of this music. They grew up with all those cats, their dad Jim Dickerson made sure they learned it from the Elders They learned it from the must authentic of them all!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Dickinson
Plenty of young blues talent out there. Larkin Poe, Samantha Fish, North Missippippi All Stars, then the little older crowd, Kenny Wayne, Johnny Lang, Ana Popovic, Tab Benoit..... just have to look for it.
This is the definition of modern blues. It captures all the old resonance with all the modern tints - sound-wise, spirit-wise, and soul-wise. True art.

What a time period ... When musicians as good as any that have ever walked the earth play everyday with very little recognition ... Excellent drumming guitar and singing
I have listened to this song every day since the first time I heard it. These women are the real deal, blues like I heard when I was a kid and I'm 55 years old. They're phenomenal!
Saw them for the first time live Monday, will not be the last. Small club, 100 people tops, drove 2 1/2 hours to get there, absolutely fantastic live. I cannot stress enough, THEY WERE GREAT !!
Their music is from a different time yet its so current. They are capturing the gothic nature of old country songs and old folk ballads. This is poetry for all generations.
This is one hell of a brilliant band! I have only just found their music and have fallen head over heels for their feel, musicianship, and authenticity.
We've just come back from your concert in Aus. We absolutely loved it. The live was even more amazing than the recorded ones! There were so many songs we loved from the previous albums, and the new ones we loved as well! It was so good to see you in Aus, definitely worth waiting 3 yrs through covid. Hope to see you guys soon in the future ❤🤘🤟
This made me literally say "Oh my God" out loud. Never heard of Larkin Poe before but I am so glad RUclips recommended this video! I feel enriched for having watched it and found you. Keepin the blues alive!
I just came across this today. This is truly remarkable! I grew up a Stevie Ray Vaughn and Allman Brothers band fan. I now have found a brand new band to stand along side them!, thank you for keeping the music alive, but new! I have 3 daughters and it makes me proud to see women of this magnitude in all aspects! I had meet and greet tickets Monday night 12/10 and they played this song at the meet and greet, then again later in their full set. After hearing this live twice Monday I still can't get it out of my head.
I discovered Larkin Poe whilst looking for a cover I saw of The Logical Song by Supertramp, saw this thumbnail instead, been a fan ever since. These two girls should be very proud of themselves
You girls ROCK! You're keeping the spirit of good old-school music alive. I really hope that you will inspire current generations and generations to come.
Slide is just one side of a drum solo. A whole lot of electronic voice. Dang, I'd like to hear some serious down home crankin rock. Why do you guys do Toyota ad fifteen seconds ad music?
Incredible this is the real blue. Both of you women are admirable in that you love the roots of blues music. In many cases your performances are deeper with more inner soul than the original song.
Love this rendition. I saw Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi doing this. Those guys are great, but this wins 1000%! Stays in my head all day!
Can’t wait to see these ladies at the jazz cafe Camden. Was given a ticketmaster gift card at Xmas and was stoked to find them on the website - didn’t even know they were touring. This is my kind of music!
Comment dépoussiérer le vieux blues par 2 merveilleuses et talentueuses sœurs. Elles nous régalent par leurs voix, la slide et les tripes qu'elles mettent dans leur musique. Bravo mesdames et merci.
These two are absolutely redonkulous. How in the world am I just hearing the now. What in this world??? Covering my favorite in Son House. All is right in this 🌍
I'm sitting in my backyard in Flagstaff AZ and hear this voice and music, it's amazing. Come to find There's a Blues and Brews festival going on just down the street. I frantically search to find who this voice is. You girls are fucking rockstars! I love this stuff. I'll be following your music from now on.
I had not heard of this group until today, May 19, 2024. I came here from another RUclips channel where the gentleman was playing this song on a Cigar Box Guitar, which sounded very good. But this version is fantastic, thank you for posting it!
Heard this on the radio the other day. I’ve loved your blues covers for a while now. Nice to see you getting the recognition you deserve. Keep at it ladies, you’re gonna be big 👌

You guys are 1 of the best bands going, The harmonies and passion you have for your music really touches ones soul....Every song I've heard from you is beautiful and has so much heart.
Son House deserves to be regarded as equal to Robert Johnson in absolute iconic status. Well done for bringing one of his best songs to people's attention once again, ladies! :D
Son Hous, by all accounts, considered Robert Johnson to be something of a punk kid. All props to Robert Johnson, but.to me, Son House and Blind Willie Johnson were of a deeper well than Robert Johnson.
The story goes that RJ genuinely sucked and got fantastic between Son House's visits to his town. He'd been off learning from someone else, obviously, but it fed into the myth. At least that's how I seem to remember hearing it.
Son House, by his own account, thought Robert Johnson couldn't play worth a damn early on, but was one of the best guitarists he'd ever heard after Johnson spent about a year woodshedding. The devil story was popularized by Son House saying that Johnson was so good that he must've made a deal with the devil since he'd last heard him.
Transfiguration of a CLASSIC: these two young ladies are the genuine article -- they have both the raw talent and the explosive exuberance. TOTAL PACKAGE!!
Congratulations to Larkin Poe for winning the Grammy Award!
February 2024👏🏻🥳
Well deserved.
Just when you think the blues is gasping its last stale break, it gets reborn by a younger generation. Thanks Larkin Poe!
Guess what NMAS (North Miss All Stars) have this nailed down the roots of this music. They grew up with all those cats, their dad Jim Dickerson made sure they learned it from the Elders
They learned it from the must authentic of them all!!! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jim_Dickinson
Agreed
Plenty of young blues talent out there. Larkin Poe, Samantha Fish, North Missippippi All Stars, then the little older crowd, Kenny Wayne, Johnny Lang, Ana Popovic, Tab Benoit..... just have to look for it.
The blues will never die, because there will always be pain in this world!
Christone Kingfish Ingram is one of those incredibly talented youngsters.
If Robert Johnson sold his soul to the Devil - Larkin Poe bought it back 👏
Reality
This is the definition of modern blues. It captures all the old resonance with all the modern tints - sound-wise, spirit-wise, and soul-wise. True art.

Think'n you mean when Johnson allegedly met the devil at the crossroads ...
