Seriously…..these sisters (if they want to) will be on top for……ever?. Even if they changed their mind NO ONE WILL EVER FORGET THEM. I’m so pleased that they’ve chosen to continue. Might this mean “ Mad as a hatter” will become available on an album eventually? Every ones asking girls. Js
I have to agree wholeheartedly with you there my friend. This one had the hairs on my neck standing up way before Rebecca started singing. The Slide Queen had my heart from the first note, then when the vocals started I was gone and done for.
its obvious you don't get around youtube much as there are many super great covers of this song and Larkin Poe while its very good it does not get the Golden ticket award
I agree with @Krispy1011. For sure this is a fantastic cover. But there are so many great covers of «Wicked Game» around. Impossible to decide which one is the best. Stone Sour, Philippe Berghella (La voix, France), Chase Eagleton, Luisant ... to name a few vor 2 Wochen
@@steinbauge4591 I absoutely agree. For sure this is a fantastic cover. But there are so many great covers of «Wicked Game» around. Impossible to decide which one is the best. Stone Sour, Philippe Berghella (La voix, France), Chase Eagleton, Luisant ... to name a few
When i lose faith in the world and see only everything that is wrong, i get renewed faith in life when i see these two girls bang out something like this. Awesome job!
No kidding... you and me both. Especially because I know that there are still those out there who love music like I do. The passion they bring! It's indescribable.
Very, very few and rare times I've watched a video of musicians and got chills over the emotions and vocal timbre. This is the moment when the universe aligns. Well done Rebecca & Megan. Well done.
This had me in tears and sent shivers up and down my spine oh man Rebecca and Megan at the top of their skills makes this old mans heart beat and feel again.
This is a GREAT song anyway, but it’s as good as it comes for Megan’s slide. It lets Rebecca show her vocal range too. In other words, this is another A+. Don’t know how you all can get much better, but I can’t wait to hear where you go next.
Please do not take Larkin Poe apart and judge individual ingredients. They are great as a team, as a whole, unique. However, I must admit that I also love the Meagan's slides. :-)
Can be anywhere, that stunning gospel out of “th color purple, it don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing, with the RatPak and Ella F. Or maybe a fierce, haunting flamenco with Carmen Linares or Bachs Toccata Fuga, the intro rocks my boat. Death letter by Son House or the accapella version of motherless children by Tina Turner. And this one you may not know, Heavenless by Ilse de Lange live. And a lot more. But this Wicked Game, man I so much agree with you. It moves ya, it’s that good!
Megan’s’ approach and attack on her instrument is so awesome. It’s a nice contrast. Her vocals are extremely complimentary. Great musician!... both of them.
Of all your covers, and you’ve done some great ones, this is my new favorite. As others have already said, Rebecca’s lead vocal along with Meghan’s harmonies this time are just mesmerizing, and the slide break, well, it’s outstanding!
Their secret: they make it real. Everything they write, everything they reinterpret, everything they perform. When they're blasting away on stage, they're at the top of their game - and when they perform just as a duo then the emotion is even more intense because it's all on the surface. One of the greatest sister acts of all time.
You two have done it again. I can’t believe the emotion you put into playing this Chris Isaak song. Or maybe it’s the emotion you bring out of me listening to it. Which ever it is, it’s so deep, so massive, I love it. I love your ability to move me in this way. Thank you. Thank whatever force in the universe it is that has brought you here, now.
Breathtaking. I knew Rebecca would unleash her howling vocal at some point (about the 2 miiinutes in) and it cuts through to take the song to a new level. The extra treat is that Megan not only covers the signature tone and licks, but then she throws in great single note improv toward the end that also elevates the work, and her musicianship, to a new level. The constant steady building of the artistry of these two troubadors is remarkable and not ony enjoyable, but soothing and soulful, especially in a song that contemplates sorrow and loss like this one. They done ya proud Chris!
O.M.G. I've heard this song performed by many famous and not so famous musicians, but never has any one of them brought tears to my eyes until now. The passion is overwhelming in you two. Signed- Fan For Life
This world is only gonna break your heart. It broke mine!!! Jesus put me back together. There were so many pieces, but he knew just where they all fit!!!
Absolutely outstanding in every way. Can't praise this performance enough from the great song choice to Rebecca's powerful lead vocal. From Megan's amazing harmony vocal to her sublime lap-steel playing. Perfect.
I've heard this song hundreds of times, but the tragedy and heartbreak never really resonated with me until I heard your version. The two of you are such a force. Brava.
I simply don't understand how you two lovely people smash these covers every single time! This one is one of your VERY best! Soulful, so, so sad but so uplifting! Please let's have a version of Love's Signed DC. It's begging for you! Much respect and grateful thanks. See you in the UK (again) next year!
As many have said, this is a great cover. Love the spare, dry approach, dynamic build, restrained guitars (til the lap steel solo, which pops like crazy). No place to hide here at all, and no need for one. Harmonies not too shabby either. Bravo!
Hi 👋🏻 I’m back because I had to say something. I very recently discovered your band. Now a couple nights ago I was brought to tears when I found Mad as a hatter. I live in Ohio, born and raised. Over two years ago my father was taken away, house car and everything sold and put in a home in Georgia. Thank you ladies from the bottom of my ❤️. Your music has touched me and is helping me through a trying, dark time right now. I am grateful 🙏🏻 GOD BLESS YOU BOTH. ✌🏻❤️🎶
Another special moment lost in the shapes of sound, swallowed by feelings, made whole by connection to something larger than ourselves... music. Thanks Larkin Poe.
It blew my head. I don't remember when a cover made for two voices and two guitars squeezed tears from my eyes. You were so overwhelmingly convincing, as you really made the journey back to 1989. This look of each other, at the end of the piece, reminds me that this journey didn't really take place physically or that you just came back to the present. Congratulations on your sensitivity and artistry. Thank you for a nice Sunday morning, I won't waste it.
Just added to my playlist of best Wicked Game covers ever. You add something to this song. As a Day without Music, in a Day Lost, you save my day! Thanks so much for this. Keep Rocking and Have a Great Day!
So much soul, and such a passionate performance! Chris Isaak is digging it, for sure. Both ladies really shine on this piece. LP just keeps getting better and better with every cover they do. Keep them coming!
That folks is how it's done. Real musicians, real instruments, real singers, no loops, no auto tune, just pure talent. Well done ladies, I first saw you when you opened for Bob Seger in St. Paul. Killer show, been a big fan ever since.
I've been ignoring this on my feed for three days - thought I'd heard it. No I hadn't! As a musician myself, I might have tried it with Rebecca doing the "This World is only going to break your heart" alone and softer, but they might have tried that and decided this worked better. As near perfect as it possible to get. What stunning arrangers they both are! They do this time after time; taking old songs and doing them in ways they've never been done before. Probably my favourite band.
I don’t want to fall in love with Larkin Poe said no one ever. What a masterful rendition of a masterpiece. Bravo.
Js
If it's permitted to make requests, I hope that I don't fall in love with you, by Tom Waits would be nice.
@@sinecast any day, any time, I'd marry him and the ones who think they understand me, would understand.
I know what you mean, got goos bumbs all over.
Too late…💜
I finally understand what it was like for Odysseus when he heard the Sirens. This is truly magical :)
Definitely Sirens! Gorgeous!!!
no. the sirens had no deep text only sound (grumpy cat emoji)
A cover that actually smashes it out of the park. Stripped down, those high notes and harmony, just wow.
Dear friends, the world is in serious need of an album of songs like that.
I believe they made a cover album, see above
You broke my heart with this. There’s a point where technical skills, then art, are left behind and only emotion is left.
I have to agree wholeheartedly with you there my friend. This one had the hairs on my neck standing up way before Rebecca started singing. The Slide Queen had my heart from the first note, then when the vocals started I was gone and done for.
Yes. I concur, as well.
That is a beautiful observation
Nothing like playing with feeling.
Yeah man, you said it and I understand cause it touches me to. And thats a wonderfull feeling.
As much as I love Larkin Poe's Southern Blues Rock performances, these quieter moments are my favorites.
The late great James Calvin Wilsey, Chris Isaak's guitar player would be proud of this cover. May he R.I.P.
Indeed he would. RIP James. One of the nicest guys ever as well.,
I was thinking the same thing.
Please I beg you..please put this on your next album. This is pure magic
And also put You Can Close Your Eyes on that album.
Stunning...absolutely stunning. The picking, the slide, the vocal harmonies...everything!
As the saying goes: Everything sounds better in Larkin Poe.
I wonder if Chris Isaak knew what this song could become in the hands of such great artists? Simple, wholehearted, beautiful. Stunning
Yes he did. At least he hoped so.
Rebecca's voice is so damn strong, and will Megan's steel this is so WELL DAMN BEAUTIFUL.😭😭😭🤧🤧🤧
This is the BEST cover EVER of this song. I absolutely adore these megatalented women.
I still prefer that of London Grammar/Hannah Reid.

Me too, they are 'as one' perfection, a complete, tear raising experience.
Something very special, rare and wonderful.
Agreed, so true
No kidding... you and me both. Especially because I know that there are still those out there who love music like I do. The passion they bring! It's indescribable.
We need to keep that positive flame inside us glowing.
This is a good place to start.
Rock on 🎸
Very, very few and rare times I've watched a video of musicians and got chills over the emotions and vocal timbre. This is the moment when the universe aligns. Well done Rebecca & Megan. Well done.
Oh my freaking goodness. One of my all time favourites getting the Larkin Poe special sauce.
And that was just glorious. Those harmonies. : )

Original proved the vocal abilities of it's vocalist. This proves the soul of these two sisters.
If you’re not moved by this you’ve never loved 🥰! Thanks for posting
Or haven't had your heart torn out, thrown on the ground, and stomped on.
I wish I wasn't moved by this
...and these slide !!!!Can a feeling go deeper inside ?!
If any song was begging for a LP treatment, it was this one, and the ladies do not disappoint! Outstanding!!
This is probably _THE_ best cover I've ever heard of this song.
it's good however I think Celine Dions version is better and I love Larkin Poe
I love Daisy Grey's version, beautiful voice
James Wilsey's guitar playing made that song. R.I.P.
They smile really big when singing "Nobody loves no one" because they know it's not true - these two obviously love each other very deeply.
It started out well, but holy shit, that slide-break! *That* is how you make me drop anything else I'm paying attention to.
The anger and the hurt are right there.
Megan’s’ approach and attack on her instrument is so awesome. It’s a nice contrast. Her vocals are extremely complimentary. Great musician!... both of them.

Excellent that you put feeling into this song rather than just belting it out.
This performance breaks my heart. The dust of the desert.
"one of your best" "the technical skills" "simply incredible" "excellent" "goosebumps" "wonderful" "amazing" ...
Pick six…
There are many cover versions of this song, but this is one of the best…
Just outstanding! I never tire of Megan's skill on that lap steel. Touche'
Your talent, your harmonies might literally be unmatched in the music world today.
This was absolute fire!!🔥
Years ago the Indigo Girls had the great harmonies…
You two have done it again. I can’t believe the emotion you put into playing this Chris Isaak song. Or maybe it’s the emotion you bring out of me listening to it. Larkin Poe covers are the best! Y'all care about the music!
Everything they play is just superb then and now in 2024….
Its Amazing... one of my favorite! Please plan to come in Quebec!!!
The talent on display here is staggering
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever written and these two have made it more beautiful.....
LP covers are usually pretty damn good, but every now and then they do one that gives you chills. This is one of them.
from 2:02 to 2: 00 I was compelled to let the tears flow
unbelievable passion
and all the guitar licks are pure killer
On the verge of tears at the start, then the vocals… I just lost it
This is Amazing! Please put it on an album 💜
These two lovely ladies can make any song go to another level. Thanks for your passion.
Megan's slide guitar is so soulful. Astounding. I am grateful.
The slide sounds absolutely STUNNING in this. So beautiful - gut wrenching.
Is there anything these two can't do? Yet another stunner.

Captivating, heart breaking, evocative - Larkin Poe at their best. I'm already in love.
That voice!
What a wonderful version of this marvellous song !!!
Wow. Chris Isaac is a unique talent, as are these two. Beautiful
Simply incredible. Ladies, I tip my hat.
Another special moment lost in the shapes of sound, swallowed by feelings, made whole by connection to something larger than ourselves... music. Thanks Larkin Poe.
I woulda never EVER thought it possible to do this particular song justice 🤘💜🤘💜😘 but THEY DID IT!
what a breath of fresh air
I love the way these two totally get into each of these cover songs, really feeling the lyrics.
The fusion of two performers into one. I have no words... i love 🤟🏻 Larkin Poe
There no words for how absolutely perfect and amazing this is.

These two hit me 70 Years old Guy in the Heart with all that Music that they play.
You nailed the melancholy mood perfectly. Simply fantastic.
Yay!!! One of my all time favorite songs, by my favorite Blues sister duo! :) Mama's ears are happy :)

I absolutely enjoyed your version of this amazing and what an incredible performance indeed!!!!! Thanks for this wonderful rendition!!!!!!!!
Once again, a great song stripped to its bones and the last drop of sublimity extracted. Pure sound. And that's one darkbright slide slipping thru.
You put a such great spin on every song you cover.
This knocks that London Grammar cover of this track into next week. It's miles better than any other cover
Hauntingly beautiful. One of the best covers to depict the pain and longing of the song.
Wow...just wow...emotion, feeling and pure skill!
Five seconds in, my heart was already melted. What a great cover! You ladies give me hope for the future of music.... Keep up the great work, kiddos!
OMG goose bumps all over....!!
Might be the best version I've heard ever Wow Girls. !!😑😎 absolutely haunting
Wow!! those vocals, Stunning and as for the Slide playing, Out of this World..........
One of your best. And that's saying something.
Pure. Unadulterated. Talent. Just off the charts beautiful. #1 on my need to see live list....
Love the song and I know y'all will do it justice.
...and as expected, y'all did a killer job. EXCELLENT!!!!
Living this song now. Bone chilling realness.
Killing it girls! I saw y'all perform with Billy F. Gibbons and you girls "unintentionally" stole the stage with your performance.
Ooh I saw a pic they posted with him, didn't know they performed with him, where/when was this?
Impossible not to fall in love with these two
