I just think people need to consider that this sounds amazing and they are playing from their homes. No auto tune, back up band or studio mixing magic, it is pure talent. Cannot wait to see you ladies live again.

I mean, Beca's voice LITERALLY gaves me goosebumps everytime I hear a song from them. I love their arrangements (cover and autoral works) but Beca's voice is something so powerful that I cannot even explain.

To say this is awesome is understatement.
I'm a 64 year old musician myself. What i hear and see is someone totally opening and surrendering to the music coming through them, getting the orgiastic ecstasy of channeling the tidal waves of sound, and conveying that to the listener. That's truth.
I never thought that Seal’s version could be equalled, but here we are, with a masterful treatment by the Super-sisters. Rebecca’s soulful vocals and Megans delightful harmonies, woven together with incredible slide guitar playing. You ladies are fantastic!

It's amazing to me, that you cover some songs that were sometimes overplayed, and return them to the first sense of awe and and sometimes sweetness from whence they came from -- you can hear how you've been musically inspired by the rock songbook of several years and even decades ago.

Oh my!!! I just listened to Seal's version while cooking on the Day of Thanks and thought about how much I love that song. I still have tickets to see Larkin Poe at the Independent in San Francisco, on lockdown since March but still waiting until I can SEE THESE LADIES LIVE!!! Be safe y'all.
I looked at the title of this video and thought, well this should be interesting and then sat blurry eyed for the next few minutes. Unable to see the screen through my tears I sat mesmerized by the absolutely flawless vocal and instrumental rendition of this song. I know it's just the two of you in the room but I swear I've heard less from a fully amped up quintet. You two invoke an emotional response in me that no one else has ever done and you have provided me with some of the best times of my life. Thank you for your talent and passion. 🤗🤗🤗

I already loved the original ever since I first heard it. Their interpretation genuinely made me speechless. I mean, Rebecca's vocals are highly emotive and fitting for the song, while Megan ramps up the quality with her slide guitar.

I adore your own work, absolutely superb stuff. But honestly, I would LOVE to get an album of your best covers re-recorded as they are exactly on here on YT....just the two of you, your two guitars and let you loose in a studio and just record them at the best quality sound possible and then get those suckers out on vinyl/CD/HQ streaming because I for one would buy it in a heartbeat. Have the original stuff, I now want the covers done so I can listen at home without having to resort to crap YT sound compression.

From every note start all the way to the end i just perfect. Her face expressions and her voice control is something else. I fell in love instant in her voice. After listening to both Seal's original version of this song and Larkin Poe's version of this song several times now, I can't say that one is better than the other. I love both of them! They are both equally brilliant!! I truly hope that this song will appear on a possible Kindred Spirits Vol. 2 album. I'd love to hear it on vinyl, and the dream is to hear it live someday. 👍💖🎸😎

That pushes Larkin Poe in the lead because of deeper conviction.
He also had the Batman franchise and big money behind him.
Rebecca and Megan did this production live from home.

@@frankboyd. It's just my humble opinion, no more important than yours, Frank. The song came first in '94, and then it was picked up for the Batman Forever film in '95. Because of that, Seal was not able to receive a motion picture Academy Award. I've heard him talk about the song. He said that he was experimenting with a 4-Track tape machine and just putting stuff together. He has never explained what the song means, just that it's based on a relationship, and it can mean many things. He did say that he was initially embarrassed by the song and a friend brought the merits of the song to his attention after he set it aside for a number of years. Even the record producers weren't sure about it. I'm absolutely confounded as to how anyone wouldn't be sure about this song. In my opinion, it's one of the greatest songs ever made. It was probably more about what they were going for on the Seal II album and whether it would sell at that time.
@@frankboyd. Have you ever wondered what the song is about? One of the reasons I love the song so much is its highly poetic lyrics and vivid imagery. There's the blending of dark and light and the metaphors for sadness and love. The connection to Batman is very, very interesting.
