New to your channel & I have a question -- hope SOMEONE will respond -- I just watched the video on Natalia the Amur leopard. Is it not possible to somehow mate her w-a male in the hopes these cats can begin to make some sort of a comeback little by little.
Natalia came from a zoo. We don't know her lineage. In addition we are an accredited sanctuary and do not breed for life in a cage. Breeding for life in a cage does nothing for conservation. We need to save them in the wild.
@@bigcatrescue I don't mean to imply that they should be born & live in captivity -- what I'm thinking is there some way to have cubs that can be released w-mom to learn about life in the wild. I guess it's a no win situation, just that it's very concerning & I cannot imagine them being gone & extinct forever - they are just too gorgeous & amazing animals to not be anymore.
Sadly, it is not legal to release captive born wildcats back to the wild...unless thru a re-release program which is being trialed but has not been very successful. Their moms cannot teach them all they need to know about surviving in the wild in a cage. It is very sad to think they might go extinct.
