I have a 2003 1.9 beetle, just lifted it and it’s sitting on 28.5” BFG Ko2’s
I’d love the sound and more low end power out of it.
After adding the straight pipe, did you need to do any mapping or ECU tuning?
Have you noticed any difference in power either better or worse?

That’s sweet, i’ve been wanting to lift mine too. And you don’t need any tuning for just the straight pipe but i have heard a tune will really wake them up. Mine is still on stock tune and i bought it with the straight pipe so i couldn’t really tell you if it added any power, but someone i know did a straight pipe and a tune from kerma tdi and he said it was a huge difference

pretty sure the noise comes from the vanes closing in the turbo since alh (99-03) motors use a variable vane turbo with no blow off valve or wastegate, not totally familiar with the bew motors is it straight piped?
