I had one, and now a K-1. Pentax have never messed around their users like certain other companies. You can still use Pentax lenses from as far back as 1975, straight on a modern camera. They have stuck with the same basic hot-shoe connections so you can put their 1980's flash units straight on a modern camera.
nice shots and good review! Thnx Just getting into the K10 Great camera, had a pentaz film camera years ago-loved it. I really like the weather proofing! Splitting my time tween Nex 3, canon cam, sony cam, casio pt n shoot, so many images- so little time lol
This is a great camera. I remember wanting one for my first DSLR back in late 2007. I ended up being convinced by a guy at the camera store that Nikon was the way to go, so I ended up with a Nikon D40x. It wasn't until earlier this year I got into Pentax digital. I have a K-5 IIs and also recently picked up the K10D for $40 untested from Goodwill (through eBay). Mint condition with only 9,100 accuations. Takes great photos!
@@JuanBuhler ... I hope you still shoot with it. Old cameras, though slow, still take excellent pictures. If anything, it forces you to think about your shot variables -- might find the better capture since situational awareness is heightened.
I have the Pentax K100D and the Pentax *istDL both great 6 megapixel cameras I rotate and leave one in my car and photograph anything of interest as I drive around as the cameras still work fine for daylight photography.
I like those images you took with the K10D and the FA 35mm F/2 especially. I have a K10D and the same lens as well. Put the battery grip on mine. I don't use it as much since I got the K-5II.
The sweet spot idea is a good way of looking at camera evolution. I had a Canon 550D (T2i), a 2010 camera with 18mp, and it fulfilled most expectations of a modern camera. I still have the 24mm and 40mm pancake lenses which reduced the overall form factor to almost micro four thirds size. Must pick up another Rebel before Canon kill crop sensor DSLRs.
I really think that 16-20MP is the sweet spot for APS-C size sensors. I only use a couple of 24-26MP APS-C cameras nowadays because of all the other advantages of a newer camera, like fast AF or high res EVFs. But if Fuji made a 16MP version of an X-E4, with everything else modern and super fast, I would probably get it.
Thank you for this! I was waiting with bated breath 🙏 these are beautiful images. I don't think it matters which Pentax people review, I fall in love with all of them. That being said, videos like these are proof that's it's the carpenter and not his tools that make the difference.
A still have a alot of pictures I took with the K10D that I still enjoy, and I'd put them up against most of the ones I've taken so far with the K3iii. Would I go back to it, prob not but I do wish I didn't sell it.
Was an early rebel so I bought the Samsung GX10 back then... Oh and it was sold off cheaper than the K10D so was a good deal to access a better camera =D
That was a great option, basically the exact same camera but with a different brand. I wish that Pentax-Samsung collaboration had gone further than it did.
Beautiful photos! Especially the running of the bulls! May I ask what settings you used for those shots? Also, did you select monochrome in-camera when taking the BW photos? Or are they edited in post? Thank you!
Thanks! The encierro photos are at 1/30s or so on shutter priority. I think I did go back and forth between 1/15 and 1/30 or so. Then I just tracked the motion. I usually shoot in raw, then process in Lightroom. Only straight of the camera BW photos usually say so (SOTC) on the video, but those are typically when I'm testing a lens and whatnot. These video has only images originally shot in raw.
@@JuanBuhler Thank you so much for explaining :D I’ve been looking into which CCD sensor camera to get and I’m leaning toward this K10D. Thank you again, beautiful images!

I have one since 2005 and I still use it today. I've taken over 30,000 photos with it, with no problems whatsoever.

The swing shot at 3:00 is excellent, and noise does nothing to diminish its impact. Photographers worry too much about such things.

I found one in a pawnshop a few years ago. The K10 started my love and collection of Pentax cameras.
Nice overview and beautiful images. 👍
This the last of their CCDs I believe. So the peak of this tech. Colors are brilliant!
Correct, as far as I know the K20D was basically the same body but with a CMOS sensor.

Hi do you have advice on ccds with best colors ?

Nice photos. I have the K5 and it is still a great camera. Looks to me the K10 is still very usable.
Excellent work...I love your viewpoint Juan...Cheers from British Columbia, Canada
Many thanks!
I'd love the CCD sensor to come back. My gosh the colours and tones are gorgeous.

Do you shoot in monochrome?
Or do you convert in post production?
Beautiful images, either way.
I wondered the same. SOOC jpgs or separately edited? I’m thinking of getting one myself.
Valuable photos and they are on Leica style side.
Thanks! My other camera at the time was the M8 so maybe that makes sense 🙂
Your photography is beautiful!
Thank you so much!
wow beautiful photos!
Thank you!
Beautiful video!! Love your photos!!

Very beautiful samples, I also have a Leica M8 and an M9P, so I am one CCD fanboy 😂
Nice fotos mate!
Great video man! Can I use the K10D as a web cam do you know? TY
I don't think so, it's a CCD sensor, doesn't have video...
What do you think is a proper price to pay for it now. Love ccd sensors
I wouldn't really know as I bought this one when it was new! But they seem to be going for around $100 on ebay...
