    Nice commentary. The nice aspect with the Pentax K10D is the CCD sensor, which is different than the current crop of CMOS sensors that abound.

    Good to see I'm not the one still using the k10d! I love that ccd so much. It has something special.
    Thanks for the video, you made my day.
    Greetings from Spain

    I use a Nikon D40x with the 18 55 kit lens. Another great CCD sensor camera. Lovely results.
    I used a Sigma 10 20 wide lens.

    _ Nice!
    _ I like the way you processed those shots. If you feel the need then do it! At our age we know that there is no right or wrong way to do anything.
    _ The fun is in the experiencing of whatever without "personal" involvement.
    _ When one starts to fret over comparisons of what others deem to be correct or better, then fun can turn into work and frustration.

    Thanks for the video. Good luck with the 14mm lens.
    The 18mm on APS-C was my most used focal length some time back, which led me to buy a 14mm. Somehow I could never "see" in that field of view and ended up selling it later. These days my most used focal length is 35mm on APS-C.
    And please make more old gear videos. I have six-seven cameras. The ones that work have a purpose each. But the cameras I enjoy using the most are my Fuji x-E1, six years old, and my Ricoh gxr, a 9 year old small sensor camera (s10 module). For me, that's the best part of photography, the fun in enjoying using a camera. I hope to keep learning and have fun for a long time.

      What can I say? Hopefully I can come to terms with ultra wide. Thanks for your comment.

    I can not agree more. Just bought an Fuji XE1 and put on a 7artisans 25mm F1.8 on it. Makes me slow down and think more. Hopefully it will lead me to another step closer to better get it right in camera skills 😁 keep it up. I enjoy your content every time

    The K200D had a focus confirmation "beep" for manual focus vintage lenses, does this model retain that feature?

    Enjoy your photos of Charlottetown and PEI, having visited at least 4 times from the US. I believe the brass quintet was playing in front of the theater (or museum?) every time we went.What is that bracket you have mounted on the bottom of the K-10 extending up the side?

      bigpardner A really right stuff L bracket. I have cheaper versions on all of my Olympus cameras.

    I love my K10D. The only camera I have used that produces jpeg's I love. Hard to imagine that someone considers it a 'disposable' camera. It is the only camera I own that I would not part with. You appear to have blamed the camera for a crap kit lens. Put some decent glass on it and "Respect the classics man" ( a quote from Disney/Pixars - Cars) =)

    • @acrummey85
      @acrummey85  5 лет назад +1

      This video was not to condemn the K10d but to praise it. For the "disposable" comment, I merely meant that I have a newer Pentax so the K10d would be used for the situations where I would fear for the well being of the newer camera. Enjoy your K10d, it is truly a great camera.

    This Irish Pentax guy loves your videos and your relaxed informal style. I have used Pentax since the 1960s film era. I currently own several film era models plus the Optio H90, the K-01 and the K3. One last thing - is your name the same as the Irish name Crummey?

    • @acrummey85
      @acrummey85  5 лет назад

      I'm not certain but the Crummey name has been in Western Bay Newfoundland since the 1700s.

      Ira Crummey Yes, that would make sense a lot of Irish people went to NFL around that time. A colleague of mine who is also a keen photographer is also a Mr Crummey. The Gaelic original form of the name was Ó Cromtha. They were chieftains in these parts.

      The K10D has now passed on to a new owner but I will check back and find some images to post in a future video, thanks for the reminder.

    • @acrummey85
      @acrummey85  2 года назад

      No it doesn’t have live view or video functions because of the CCD sensor.

    Well, in my eyes it looks like the 18-55 being the weak point in this combination. Much better partners for the K10D would be the old 16-45 and/or the DA35/2,4

    • @acrummey85
      @acrummey85  3 года назад

      Yes, I had the 16-45mm f4 that I often used with the K10D.
