here in Brazil it must be quite a surprise to get the results for this kind of test, 'cause we are a very miscigenated country. we had (and stil have) many indigenous nations, we have been colonized by Portugal, and (sadly) slavery happened here too (with slaves being brought violently from africa by the portuguese, who also enslaved many of the indigenous people too).
other than my last name (that was traced back to an italian dude from Florence who came to Brazil a little after the beggining of the portuguese colonization), I know nothing about my ancestrals. I am probably a big mix of a lot of ethnicities. I'm curious now, think I'm gonna do a test like that.
*in the of 19th century, and beggining of the 20th, happened a somewhat big italian, german and japanese imigration here (way before the second world war, so it was not directly related to that). and more recently (from the 2000's) we have received many african (from many different african countries) and chinese imigrants. the descendants of these more recent imigrants (from the end of the 19th century to now) all know their history, but the rest of the population is just like me, the product of a big mix of races/ethnicities.

What did you mean when you said that you were enough "NATIVE AMERICAN" for school????????? I'm asking because my direct maternal line aka mitochondrial DNA is B2 Haplogroup which is native American. Also my native American percentage on 23andme is 4.3 percent. It's was originally 4.6 percent but they updated it. Please let me know what you did for school to let them know that you are native American. I'm currently in school now.

Interesting video. I took a 23andMe test, and it said I was 99.9% European. It was interesting for me to also learn that I have a slave owner ancestor, as well. I have found one slave owner ancestor, but I probably have more, I would guess. It was also interesting for me to learn that I have at least two Civil War veteran ancestors. Both fought for the Union. One was the colonel of a cavalry regiment, and the other was not an officer, but also fought in a cavalry regiment. Both survived the war

What is your haplogroup? It will tell you more about your ancestry than your ethnicity estimates. And if you watch some more of these videos by people of Afro descent you will find that your ethnicity places are quite common. And what other Caribbean region do they connect you to, because I noticed this a lot in others test. They connected them also to an island region.

Fascinating this is very interesting. So much less diversity and mystery for people on the continent. Especially for those who have families who have been living in the same place for generations. I bet these tests don't sell half as well in Europe.

The indonesian is from a Malagasy(people of Madascar, they have both indonesian and Bantu ancestry) since some malagasy were brought to the Americas. The west asian is probably from the fulani( they have middle eastern and north african ancestry)Many fulanis were brought to the Americas during slavery you can find them all over west africa! Nice results !

I finally came around to watch this lol... Initially, I guessed that you could be Congolese I guess I wasn't completely incorrect. That's so awesome that you found out where you are from. Since your ancestry said that you are also Liberian I'm officially adopting you as my cousin 🙌🙌. I peeped the book you used the Liberian girl skit. Also to answer your question about the colonization of Liberia it is correct. I remember asking my mom some history that she learned from her high school days when she was growing up in Liberia that when the ex-slaves came back to Liberia there was some friction that turned into a war because of how they wanted the country to run. The ex-slaves did win but there was more on enculturation. (The blending of two cultures). We didn't have a native Liberian-born president until 1884. Yeah so if you have any questions let me know cousin 😁

Awesome video! The DNA test are not very reliable you have to do you genealogy to get more details. If your grandparents or great grandparents told you that you are an indigenous American, then more than likely you are an American Aborigine. There were blacks in the America prior to colonization. A lot of of the indigenous aborigines were captured and put into slavery. The Colonizers reclassified all of the dark complexion Indians as colored or blacks in the early census. So the DNA have the blacks mislabeled in the first place then the test will always be off. You may want to check out Dane Calloway channel. Peace & Light!
