My kids used to sing “My baby’s got SOCKS!!” and it was so freaking hilarious I never had the heart to correct them. Still makes me roll on the floor laughing.
Saw them in 98 in Tempe AZ. Someone threw a joint on stage, Garrett caught it, lit it, toked it and kept playing. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw at a concert. We have the same last name and love for 🌲🌲🌲🌲
Garret D and I grew up together, Summers in NJ, Surfing... Hes a killer guy... Got nothin but love. Funny True Story? Back in the day I was drunk n disorderly in a club...got booted out. So im outside wondering how I will tell my GF WTF I am... Im waiting and here comes Garret out the back ...he sees me and says to follow him. We walk into a tour bus...With the WAILERS BAND INSIDE.... Of course my hero was Bob Marley so Im FLOORED... Bout a minute later there are Beers and Spliffs all around me and Im talking to my real life HEROS... A moment I will never ever forget! Thanks G...see you soon.
dtownlove10 Funny you ask.... Well the club had emptied out and I can see my GF and 2 other friends we went with in a group lookin for me. I see this thru the tour bus window, Ganja Smoke and Cold Heineken Fog...So I quickly say oh shit there's my lady. Everyone in the bus sorta laughs... I say my sincere thank yous and goodbyes to Garrett and the Wailers band. I stand at the tour bus door....it opens... I have 2 choices...quietly leave the bus, or yell over to them so they can see I'm in the Wailers Tour Bus. Of course I yell out...they see me and I make my exit, laughing, Stoned, Drunk and generally being an ass... I run over, she's pissed, so are my friends..my people were pissed and rightfully so...I was gone 1/2 the night. In the car on the way home I tell my tale and ALL agree it was too epic of a journey not to flow with, so I was exonerated in the car. They still tell the story. To this day I still wonder where the pictures are from the many disposable cameras all over that tour bus wishing so badly I had those photos, I'm in lots of them... Truly hilarious.
My foster kitty just gave birth and the babies smell like milk and cereal. It made me of course thunk of song and G Love and Special Sausage, and then I missed this! :)
I still listen to G. Love's first two albums. At this point in my life it's like a hipster superpower because everyone always likes them but no one has ever heard them before.
How did I totally miss this group growing up!?!? I’m 35 and just now discovered this group because they’re doing a show in June in Dallas with Dirty Heads, Tropidelic and Yelawolf. Going to be diving more into them for sure!
You are too young. They never got big. They were big on college campuses in the late 90s. My sister introduced me to them cause she was in college and I was in 8th grade in 1999. The radio never played them. They disappeared after this Album.
I LOVE THIS SONG!! I have never heard of you guys. I simply stumbled on this video. I have been calling my girlfriend Babysauce for years. And now this is our song!
I gotta say thanks to Bob, who was a friend of my older sister, who introduced her to bands like G Love and Soul Coughing and The Jayhawks, and she introduced me to them. I was raised on 60s and 70s music, but its pretty hard to beat the 90s music...
One of the most super-duper, ultra-extra underrated bands in HISTORY. Over these 30plus years they have not gained even 10% of the popularity they really deserve. Garrett is a pure genius
Oh Lawdy‼️ I love this band. Always have. Garrett - it’s cindy from Doc Watsons in Philly. You filled my bar with the funky sound that still rocks my world. Miss you🎶🙏🎶
I've liked this ever since I heard it, but I am listening to it with so much joy learning the lyrics and just geeking out. I'm definitely giving it a go at karoake
Fun and you baby rockin down the house in the middle of the unprecedented and unsanctable! This song positive vibrations with love and sauce ❤🔥💃🔥💃🌠👏Brilliant
top 3 track of theirs. classic. hopefully it is re-discovered by a whole new generation or the older generations that were too distracted by prehistoric stuff at the time.
I'm currently guarding the stage for this band as I write this comment.
Love seeing them live
Saw G Love in concert multiple times in the 90s. Always a good time. Such a great decade for music.
Lucky!!
My kids used to sing “My baby’s got SOCKS!!” and it was so freaking hilarious I never had the heart to correct them. Still makes me roll on the floor laughing.
😂 that's one of those things you don't correct
The best women have socks! Defenitely.
That's pretty damn cute!. Thanks! I'll definitely remember this. I try to apply " Swan in a ditch" and " Firetrucker".
😂😂😂😂😂❤
Well, on Cold Beverages, you can hear "I like blueberry jam" if you listen close
Such brilliance for ever
They got the right sauces
Saw them in 98 in Tempe AZ. Someone threw a joint on stage, Garrett caught it, lit it, toked it and kept playing. It was the most amazing thing I ever saw at a concert. We have the same last name and love for 🌲🌲🌲🌲
G LOVE will always remind me of summer time just drinking brew and chillin
My first drum teacher gave me this song to practice to. Gave me my lifelong inner funk
Same asf
This song never ever gets old.
2024 here!!
It’s crazy that this song is officially 30 years old this year… Takes me back to being a young teen.
Anyone listen to this in 1997?

I love how he's singing & rapping simultaneously!
Yeah
Me
Just heard this for the first time, were ahead of their time
Wish people would stop saying this about 90s stuff. It wasn't ahead of it's time, it's just how the 90s were.
This video says 11 years ago.
This came out 24 years ago.
Wrap your head around that.
I still listen to it. Really underrated band.
How did I totally miss this group growing up!?!? I’m 35 and just now discovered this group because they’re doing a show in June in Dallas with Dirty Heads, Tropidelic and Yelawolf. Going to be diving more into them for sure!
I just found them through Matisyahu's tour! Agreed. I'm 26 and I've never even heard of them.

I loved this song in high school. I haven't heard it since then ...(20 years), and I still know every single word. Funny how the brain works.

All about G Love's chilled out vibe!
I gotta say thanks to Bob, who was a friend of my older sister, who introduced her to bands like G Love and Soul Coughing and The Jayhawks, and she introduced me to them. I was raised on 60s and 70s music, but its pretty hard to beat the 90s music...
