All in Ritchie's phrasing..a 3pc is the best IMO but it takes an understanding of how to make it sound full at all times. TWD is a perfect example of how it works, Alice in Chains is another example that comes to mind as well.

yeah. but with bill and mike, they are like 4 people. so deep in the pocket, so over the top, great vocals, total enthusiasm. these guys were built for it...

I was lucky enough to see this trio a few days later in a pub basement club in central London that held only five hundred people. Stood only about 12 feet from the stage! What a gig watching such virtuosos close up.
Say what you want but Portnoy is the absolute powerhouse of drummer.

I saw them the other night in a small venue in London. These guys are masters of their instruments. Hard, fast rock with great melodies .
I don't care whether you understand what I'm saying or whether you don't. I've been practicing and playing live for 32 years now. It absolutely be wilderness me how people don't understand how good Richie kotzen really is. he is absolutely blow away good.
Singer, songwriter, guitarist, shredder extraordinaire, metal, rock, pop, blues, soul. Guy is awesome. Poison, Mr. Big, solo, Winery Dogs, and recently Smith/Kotzen, (blues album with Adrian Smith of Iron Maiden).
It should be illegal to have this much talent in one band.
Fuckin' hell. Billy is a MONSTER on the bass, Ritchie is is his normal solid as rock self and the drummer is killin' it. What a band.

Never been a fan of the whole "Super Group" title some bands are given, but man...that's about the only term you can use to explain these guys. Unbelievable talent blended together to make some great Rock N Roll. These guys should be way more famous than they are.

Always a good way to see if a band is good live, watch these festival videos. Usually there's tech problems, minimal to no soundcheck, no bells and whistles etc... if a band sounds good there, then they will sound good anywhere, case in point The Winery Dogs :)
