      I just bought a 15 manual model with 30k. I love it! Solid. Fuel economy is not great, though. I haven’t taken it on the highway at distance yet, though.

    • @toyotabrony
      @toyotabrony 5 лет назад

      djkenny the 22 mpg and 28 highway is not bad at all. It takes u 6 days before putting more gas. I fucking love this xB2.5 and I am proud of owning one. I only got 1 of less year left before I am free from my car payment. Bought since brand new. It’s smooth, it’s fun to drive, and one of the most customizable ever.

      Toyota Brony I love mine too, I’ve learned how to get best mpg, luckily it’s a manual model, it’s getting a wide range of mpg but generally I exceed 28 mpg pretty often. These are cars that should,last over 300k easily.

    Great video! This is the best review of an xB that I have seen on RUclips. I have a 2012 xB, so from an owner's perspective I can say that you covered pretty much everything about the car. Your comments and info was spot on. Couldn't have made this review any better!

    Every time I fill up my 2005 xB I see I get anywhere from 32 to 36MPG. This is only possible with the much smaller 1.5L engine vs the 2.4L engine in the new ones.
    These are used as Taxis and Uber cars thus the gas really cuts into our profits. Hopefully my xB will last another 150,000 miles. I will say the 2.4L would be better for toeing as I sometimes toe a 4x8ft trailer with anything from couches, yard waste, building materials, etc. Then I get about 27MPG HWY.
    Good video! Thanks a lot for putting it together.

    This was an excellent review of this vehicle. I have owned an '08 and now own the '10 special edition. It was interesting to see what had changed in the last 5 years in standard equipment and features. I was disappointed with Scion for taking out the rear passenger door cupholders and I didn't notice the flip out cupholders in the middle in front of the rear seats. I also am really disappointed that they put the usb/aux port inside the center console. It's great they changed the skinny arm rest for only the driver & made the center console much bigger, but my kids will drive me crazy going in and out of it with their cables. There should be a pass through from theinside to the outside :( I look forward to a review from you for the 2016 XB--preferably highlighting anything that might be different from the standard to the special ed. Maybe next time you could note the colors available for a particular year since they are always changing with Scion! I love my XBs!!

    I bought a 2012 xd last year and I like it, but man the extra roominess in the xb sounds really appealing to me. Being 6ft tall, im not necessarily uncomfortable in the xd but I could definitely use a tad more legroom. Anyone like 6'2" or taller would not be comfortable in the xd. The extra cargo room in the xb would be nice as well. I may honestly make the switch, or at least test drive it.

    @MikesCarInfo one thing. It’s not an SUV. It’s a sub compact vehicle aka hatchback. When u park between this 2015 Scion xB and 2018 Toyota RAV4, they both have similar heights and size. One smal SUV of rav4, and one big ass hatchback xB.

    CAUTION.......if you buy a used one be aware that SOME 2008-2011 models had high oil consumption....many used a quart of oil OR MORE every 500-1,500 miles.
    I was told TOYOTA changed the piston rings in 2012 and cured the problem.

    • @davidlyday7373
      @davidlyday7373 8 лет назад

      I don't want to be a neusince but I believe the 08-09 were the effected model years according to many resources however I might be wrong. However I am fairly confident this vehicle won't have that problem since they corrected it in 2010

    • @Kinsella_Finn
      @Kinsella_Finn 6 лет назад +1

      I had an ‘08 and never had any issues or recalls about that.

    • @djkenny1202
      @djkenny1202 4 года назад +1

      Some pre 2013 models. Not all had the issue. The Recall campaign will cover any XB for 10 years from model year. Admittedly, some 13 or newer models were inflicted with oil considerably issues, but its pretty uncommon. I am testing my 15 with Toyota. We will check it in 1200 miles from oil
      Change. Then I will try again in 3-4 years when it has more miles. My car only has 32k and I bought it a year and 4 months ago. I noticed no oil consumption first 3000 miles between change, and I only use conventional oil.

    • @toyotabrony
      @toyotabrony 2 года назад

      The oil consumption is mostly on 2008-2010. They fix most if not all but u still very good chance of not gettin an oil consumption, for 2011-2015

    @MikesCarInfo At 15:00 that I can and help u and tell u what’s the purpose of having the vehicle setting on the audio system, now as a music lover and mostly Love hard bass pumpin hehe it’s gives u different Audio sound systems from each car. And the best part of u adjust the bass and treble u can hear and listen the difference the high quality bass. The tC and FR-S have a very decent bass sound, and xD has a little more nice bass than the xB that setups already. But if u try the Scion iQ, for a little car it has the more powerful base that U will ever hear it. I chose that iQ sound system because it’s exactly how I want it. And it’s very surprising and rare of how most or some Scion owners don’t know about it.
    So there u have it my friend. I hope that helps a lot if u try it.😎✌🏼

    • @MikesCarInfo
      @MikesCarInfo  9 лет назад

      ***** I am not trying to be annoying... I am genuinely interested in the methodology for determining whether a vehicle is an SUV or not. I am aware this vehicle is marketed as a wagon but it is comparable in size (height, length and ground clearance) as the RAV4 which is considered an SUV.... and they both have hatchbacks. Is it cargo capacity? Angle of approach?

      MikesCarInfo it’s considered a sub compact aka hatchback. 90% of people say as a fact a hatchback, and other 80% people say it’s wagon which it does look like one. 4-6% people says it’s an SUV but it’s not. And they need to do some research of that

      It’s not meant for everyone. The uglier,boxy-ish, and very clean unique are, the better they will be. In history? I doubt it lol.
      They are a must.
