    I've loved every movie I have ever seen with Linda Darnell in it. My favorite movie of hers is "A Letter to Three Wives" with Paul Douglas, another favorite actor of mine. I am so sorry her life went the way it did and that she didn't even have a childhood with a good mother to instill the things Linda needed. It's horrible the way Hollywood has chewed women up and spat them out.

    3:16 3:17 I don't want to hear any More of this about Linda Darnell. She was a close and dear friend of mine. A wonderful, wonderful woman. She died in a horrible way. That's true. I don't want to hear anything bad said about her.She was a dear lovely, sweet woman i'll know more about her than you'll ever know. And where you got your information

      If indeed you knew her, even as a more intimate friend, then I admire your integrity. By recognizing her dignity and telling others that her beauty emanated from an actual person, all other perspectives are suspect or worse. The clouds part and we are all the better for it. Such truth "...restores the soul" and I just thought I'd thank you.

      Thank you for your reply in the affirmative I often get very nasty remarks when I say that I knew somebody or they just say I'm trolling so I didn't know her I worked in Somerset for many years so I got to meet a lot of actors who work on the way up and on the way down😊 she was a lovely lady@@normanleach5427

    It is worthy of mention that in those days one did not reach legal adulthood until the age of 21. I believe 18 became the age of consent in the sixtes or early 70s. Why? Because the war hawks did not want to be rhought of the predators they actually were by technically sending CHILDREN off to war.

    Thank you for this intriguing and fascinating video. Well researched. Never heard of this actress and love 😍 old movies. 😔 sad about her emotionally abusive mother. That did not help. The mother did not have Linda's best interests at heart. Linda did have bad judgment regarding men. Never get involved with a married man. She had no regard for her marriage. Probably needed much therapy to deal with family issues self esteem mental health. The list goes on. 😔 sad ending to a Hollywood life. What happened to the daughter.

    Linda Darnell was exquisite looking. She had a soft, almost other worldly beauty. She looked hispanic and very exotic. She reminded me of Delores Del Rio, Susan Kohner, Lena Horne and even Dorothy Dandridge. The narrator focused on her being underage and being cast opposite much older actors. Every actress in Hollywood was paired with much older actors. Lauren Bacall was 25 years younger than Humphrey Bogart. Betty Grable was underage when she started and so was Ginger Rogers. Patricia Neal was decades younger than Gary Cooper.

    Thankyou for this behind the scenes look at Linda Darnell's tragic life. You stated that her injuries "covered 80% of her skin". Which sounds extremely awkward. The correct terminology is: "80% of her body".

    Was there any actress of the 1930s and 1940s that Howard Hughes was not involved with at some time? Every single biography of the female stars has some reference to Howard Hughes pursuing them and/or having an affair with them.

    Its such a tragedy what happened to that beautifil lady. She acted fast to get the child to safety and sadly died herself. RIP Miss Linda D. 😔🌹🌹🙏Hollywood can be a rough place, with big egos and abusive big shots. Her mother must of been a stone narcissist, for pushing her young daughter the way she did. Too many wacko stage mothers.

    I HAVE ALWAYS (LOVED) ACTRESS "LINDA DARNELL"❤. SHE WAS ONE OF A FEW (MOVIE STARS) THAT I MOST DESIRED. GREAT ACTRESS/WOMAN, DESPITE THE MANY PROBLEMS SHE ENCOUNTERED. ACTOR "TYRONE POWER" AND "LINDA DARNELL ❤️ " WOULD HAVE BEEN A (GREAT) MATCH IN THEIR PERSONAL LIVES. I WISH THEY HAD GOTTEN TOGETHER; LIKE ACTING TOGETHER. HER PROBLEM WAS GETTING WITH THOSE (PSYCHOPATHS) "MEN" IN HER LIFE THAT (DESTROYED) HER AND HER CAREER AND HER (CRAZY) MOTHER. RIP 🙏 "BEAUTIFUL" WOMAN❤

    She was very hard looking, even when young. She plays a great hard boiled girl in Letter To Three Wives. I don't see Darnell as a great beauty, but a good looking woman. "The Girl With The Perfect Face" was obviously just publicity department PR. Hollywood was always coming up with "angles" for attractive young starlets. A terrible place for most women who didn't have a protective family.

      Another hard-boiled actress was Joan Crawford! Even in the movie Mildred Pierce she just did NOT exude any of the warmth that that role called for. Although it seemed she threw herself into the character of a loving, very hard working mother, whose world centered around her only child, her daughter Vita. But her natural 'hardness' was just impossible to get past, for me!!

    There is too much blame on childhood. All throughout history people had real horrendous childhoods and marched on without complaining.Since the inception of “ psychology “ more and more people put the blame of their unhappiness on childhood. Not saying that is not a real thing but the amount of people on therapy is staggering and it seems that it became a big business and a crutch for too many. People became weaker and weaker, lazier and lazier and more entitled each time .

    The perfection of her beautiful face was such I cannot bear to hear how dumb she was with men.Sorry.However Hollywood is now exposed as a seething mess of horrible experiences I hate to admit it I adored Linda Darnell's perfect face but I always sensed Linda Darnell's lack of inner strength.
    This story is unlike the one I read of her death , Linda Darnell was drinking alone in her home and was burnt to death in a fire caused by a cigarette she had carelessly lit
    before passing out dead drunk. With two other people at close proximity to her hard to believe the fire was not detected earlier?

    • @searchthewind99
      @searchthewind99 Месяц назад +7

      She did not pass out dead drunk. She actually managed to get out safely but mistakenly thought her niece was still inside and ran back in where she did not escape. Actually, her niece had also gotten out.
