Pearl WAS NOT a large woman. In her youth she was small with a very tiny waist. Size-wise the opposite of Latifah. The right actress is out there! Her beautiful brown skin is what prevented her from rising to the stardom of Dorothy Dandridge. Today -- like Viola Davis - she would have been a megastar!! The role belongs to a small curvy chocolate actress! Not Latifah.
