I would like to thank you for these videos, I used them as inspiration to do an extended sound deadening job in my LC100. Even though it took me longer than I expected, I did as much as I could have done, leaving only minor details to do later on. I did all the under carpet with butyl sheets+mlv full coverage, i did behind the rear panels and all doors butyl sheets+ 1 inch closed cell foam, wheel arches same with half inch foam, The pillar trim I used only half inch closed cell foam but i did cover all of them, I did the roof liner with butyl sheets+half inch closed cell foam, did closed cell foam behind the glove box and close to passenger airbag, also the trim cover under the steering wheel. Because I fitted new radio also filled several free spaces inside dash with one inch foam. After all this still went for front wings, stuffed some inch closed cell foam and left overs of mlv to block the travel of sound from engine bay to the doors. Also the fitted butyl sheets+ one inch foam inside the cowl. Finally did under the bonnet with butyl+heat proof closed cell foam (under the original liner). Only thing left is to fit some foam seals to close the gaps between the doors and the body as well as the tailgate. I must say I was rather impressed with the result, wind noise was gone, transmission noise was gone, road noise gone, MT tyre noise quite reduced (surprised with that one) and the engine noise quite muffled. The engine noise is the only one I expected more of it, even though it's a diesel. However, I must say this job has taken my already refined 4x4 to a quality family saloon level. For those who are thinking about doing something like this so extensively, consider these numbers: 1 week of hard work full day, around 600USD in materials and finally about 60-70kg of extra weight. PS: if you like car audio, consider doing this before getting any good quality speakers/amp.
Video showing removal of more panels would be awesome... I'm struggling with removing the trim around my gear selectors and centre cup holders if you have any tips...
I have the same car, and I am thinking about to soundproof the heck out of it. would you recomend the products that you used or would go a different route if you had to do it again if so wich one?
The Noico sound deadiner I would still do if i could start over. I would have taken more time on the doors and the ceiling liner making sire i made the right sized cutouts and everything fit properly. Also if i had the time i would have and maybe i will in the future work on the openings behind the dash and foot well area. I wouldn't reuse the foam that i got as it is too thick and not closed cell. I would stick to the automotive elastomeric type closed cell foam with the adhesive back. Hope that helps.
Thanks to show but the sound come from doors and front site of caar sound engin you isolate where is no engin no sound door and torpedo is best way to isolate sound trust me
I think this is kind of overly eccentric to do this project. There are a lot of other beneficial things and gift of time that you can do to help your fellow neighbor.

You applied noico over the factory applied sound deadening material.
Super! It's helpful. Thanks.
Surprised you opted to do this on a Lexus that already has fairly good sound deadening.
It could be better my wife's 08 gx470 is vastly quieter than my 2000 lx.
Which motor is that under the driver side seat
Good video but damn man this car will sound like a vacuum chamber after the extra deadening haha
