I actually really like these results! This would be great for everyday for me. I'm not looking for crazy curl longevity, I'm just looking for some clumping (my hair is baby fine and looks stringy sooo easily) and less frizz without weighing my hair down. Finding that balance of moisturizing and curl enhancing while not weighing my hair down and also doesn't make my hair look instantly dirty (fellow oily human here!) has been so so hard. I have to use 1/2 to 1/3 of the amount of product you do.
Ditto. I'm in south Texas at the moment so lightweight is exactly what I need. Most of the time it's too humid/hot to have my hair down so heavy moisturizers wouldn't go well with everyday styling. I usually just brush in a bit of jojoba oil to seal in the moisture and prevent excess sun damage.
My hair is also very fine, thin, and lots of gray taking over. It has taken 3 yrs to get the right mix of products to give the results I want. Good luck in your hair quest. For what its worth, here's my usual washday, Tre Luxe Gentle Cleansing Rinse (shampoo) 2x. Or Aveda Sap Moss shampoo (very small amt needed...might have to get used to earthy smell ..but I do love it). Conditioner: Tre Luxe leave in or most recently, AG Vita C Conditioner (2-3 min then rinse out) this gives me bounce and elasticity that I often lack. Take out some of the drippiness with your towel but keep hair pretty damp/wet for styling. My styling combo is Curlsmith Full Body Thickening Lotion rake in with hands, followed by Tre Luxe Hi Def Gel..work in small amts and wet hands, rake thru, scrunch in..repeat to all hair. I usually brush style fb wide tooth comb but not always. follow with Tre Luxe Reflex Serum, rake and scrunch, too. Detail my problem areas with my scrunch-it brush or whatever. Then diffuse on med high heat with cold shot mixed in...hover diffuse. I also lift with extended prongs to lify certain areas that tend 2b flat. Dont touch hair right away. Let it cool down..get dressed, get coffee, do a dance....whatever just let it b for a moment. Then I either shake/ break my cast from under side, shake my head a few times. If needed, I add 2-3 drops of Verb Ghost Oil to my hands and glaze lightly any dull looking areas. Another fantastic product I found for my thin fine curly wavy hair has been AG Recoil. I especially love it for quick refresh days by itself or can follow with a gel. But it gives me great bounce, definition, and soft hold. All this costs $$. Some companies sell sample sizes or can return if not good for your hair type. bless us all....Hair shouldn't be so hard!
I have to say I really liked the end of the day look. I've found that when defined curls get stretched out they start to look stringy. But softer waves just look soft. I've stopped using so many stylers at a time. Now it's just gel and mousse
And try a regular conditioner instead of the 3 minute one. So same shampoo, a reg conditioner, the sprunch and end with instant freeze gel! Can you also show us your hair right before you diffuse so we can see it when you stand up. I don't diffuse so just wondering.
They did a formula change on the gel recently. I haven’t tried the new formula, but a lot of reviews online really don’t like it anymore. I think basically it’s more drying without giving better hold.
I love this brand and have never clicked on a video faster. I think part of the issue with different ingredients on different sites is that Aussie is changing formulas. From experience with my color treated hair their total miracle shampoo is less stripping but still gets all the silicones out from their other products. Their wavy, curly, and coily lines also have slightly different formulas than their normal ones. My favorite leave in is their miracle curly leave in milk. So maybe try some of their other lines see if you like the results/feel better. Their curly mousse seems to give decent definition and last longer than the one you tried but I’ve never tried the sprunch mousse.
Oooh yay the volume shampoo! I'm waiting to try that one and it's cool seeing you using it. Also Aussie's scents are the BEST, everything smells amazing!
Thank you for all you do to share your expertise with us! I’ve been focusing on home decor lately but just want to tell you how much I enjoy your videos. You have such a cute personality and I love your funny words (“anywhoozles”), descriptions, and exclamations. You’re beautiful, knowledgeable, and fun to watch. Keep up the good work!!
Your hair has looked curlier, but I don’t hate this. My hair looked great with it at first but fell as the day went on. I’m going to try pairing it with the gel.
I use the Aussie products I use the volume hairspray I use the volume mousse and I use the miracle curls refresher and I do have wavy curly hair that naturally curls even without products, but my hair is very healthy and I am a retired 74 year old woman and the less I have to do with my hair the better off I am but I enjoy using the Aussie products and they make my hair feel wonderful and my curls and waves stay in for several days I can go almost a week without another wash day or even a co-wash, my hair is fairly thick, My hairdresser does condition my hair deeply at least once a month. Keep up the good work Courtney you are very informative and you’re a lot of fun to watch and you do have beautiful hair
I have no idea how I missed this video, but I'm glad I have seen it now. I love Aussie! I often use the Volume shampoo to clarify and, yes, it is very cleansing. However, I have not used the other products you reviewed. I have always been nervous to try the conditioner because of my fine hair. This makes two of your videos in two days that have given me some inspiration 😁 thanks! Btw I love watching all your videos. I've been following you for nearly 4 years and you've been so much help.
Could you do more one day wash days with Aussie products? I love their products because they’re so affordable and have multiple wavy, curly, and coily product lines. They also recently released a instant freeze mousse that I’ve been intrigued by! I would love to see a separate wash day video featuring the wavy and curly product lines.
I may keep that styler on my watch list. It may be great for refreshing as well as priming hair to use a gel. I find products that help my curls clump together but are lightweight like foams or serums are my favorite things to use to refresh. It may be a great budget friendly option. Or also for if you want more beachy looks for the summer when you are outside at the beach, pool etc...
The 3-Minute Miracle Moist has been a ride-or-die for decades! So good for so cheap! I was afraid I'd "have" to give it up to play with my waves, but, honestly, that's not going to happen. Courtney, your hair is (of course) beautiful. I may try the Sprunch. I used it when I was teenager, but I really don't remember and I really had no idea how to use hair products. Thank you for the video!
Ok, I watched again. Lol. I think your soft results are perfect for super casual days. I hope I get a similar outcome. I'm always so sad when I spend time making my hair super cute and defined and then it turns into a hoodie day or I need to take a nap or other surprises. This looks pretty enough to go out but soft enough to survive manhandling. I may try it with the Instant Freeze gel. I'd love to see how your hair turns out with the "Sprunch and Freeze" combo. 😂
I actually think this is the best your hair has looked since you cut it short! It looks soft and sleek and shiny. The end of day and 2nd day results were great too! And your hair is protected from damage with that nice silicone coating on it so nothing wrong with that! I love aussie for my curly hair. Their conditioners are great for detangling
I love this mousse and it's the ONLY product I use on my curly hair. I HATE the feeling of product and this doesn't feel like I have anything on my hair. Love it.
I know you have as much control over hair type as the rest of us 😉, but I cannot tell you how much I appreciate you being a voice for wavys in the curly community. You've made it so much easier to be acceptuon of my waves and how versatile they can be. I was so hopeful I could get to 3a because of how tight my day 1 curls could be. While I still shoot for strong hold to make them last, I'm okay with how they fall as the days pass. So thank you for being you and for sharing all this amazing info.

Oh, great timing! I just picked up the Sprunch Mousse yesterday because I was so intrigued when I noticed it. I also grabbed the new to me Instant Freeze Non-Aerosol Hairspray and my beloved Instant Freeze Gel. I love Aussie as a brand, they work quite well for me. I definitely need to try the shampoos & conditioners at some point
Did your gel look like what she showed first or the one at the end? They've changed the formula of it and it's not nearly as amazing as it used to be, sadly.
@@christiemese I definitely have the new bottle design. I usually layer several stylers and use this gel last. I haven't noticed a significant difference but I've been experimenting with curl enhancers lately and my hair has gotten very long so I don't know that I'd be able to tell a clearcut difference. I also don't keep an eye on ingredients though so I don't know when they changed the formula.
I've been using Aussie for a few years (just started the curly girl method last week), and always had pretty good results with the 3 Minute Miracle Moist as my once a week conditioner. The last wash I did with it where I tried the squish to condish method and plopping for the first time I got decent waves (without any sort of mousse) - not a ton, but more than my old application technique. I think if you want to get started with CGM techniques before swapping out all of your products for CGM approved products, using your existing Aussie products can start giving you more volume.

Thanks for showing that your hair isn't always curly. I've felt like a "failure" because my hair is "so straight" come wash day. It turns out that I have more wave left on wash day than you do. Yeah! I'm not doing anything wrong! That's just what wavy/curly hair does over a few days! 😂😂
This is why I make a point to follow mostly wavy hair influencers rather than curly hair ones, not only to support them since they get attacked by the 'curl police' quite often (you know the type, 'if you have to scrunch you're hair's not curly' etc....such gatekeepers) but also because I get a much better idea of what my hair will actually be like with these products. Honestly, I feel like the sprunch Mousse has plenty of hydration on its own. But everyone’s hair is different, so I would suggest you try both and see what you like better with a leave in conditioner and without.
The effortless waves look sooooo cute on your length…love it! I’m allergic to anything with proteins. I love the sprunch with a little of the miracle curls mousse, my hair loves the coconut oil….
Your hair actually looks beautifully wavy, even on day 2. I clarify weekly but don't deep condition with heat for 30mins. I have very fine, low density and low porosity hair. Should I be doing your suggested deep conditioning?
Thanks for the video. I've been using Bis-Aminopropyl Dimethicone in my conditioner for years with about every wash. It comes out easily with a curly girl approved ingredient in the corresponding shampoo. Let's hear it for mindful formulation!
Funny, but this brand works the absolute best for me. I've tried so many. My go-to are the Coils Shape Jelly, the Curls Mousse and the curl refresh already. They never fail me and never end up weighing my hair down!
Same! The 3-min Miracle is my go to deep conditioner. I’d say everyday but I wash twice a week tops. Usually once or less and it’s so lovely on my very fine, low density, high porosity hair. The spray conditioner is great for my daughters curly hair too.
@@kanona0115 Your hair type sounds like mine! I've been waiting to try the deep conditioner, but just want to use up some of the others I have first! 🙂 I only wash twice a week tops, as well, and clarify every 2-3 weeks depending on how my hair feels. Love that a cheap brand works so well!
Bought the scrunch moose and have used it 3 times so far instead of a gel. I love the results. My curls have stayed in better than anything else I have used! It lasts 3 to 4 days. I used the Giovanni shampoo and conditioner. Rinsed with apple cider after wash. Used curlsmith curl cream then assie moose finished with Giovanni Tubo moose. My curls have lasted the best ever and look more natural than with using gel.
Courtney - would you consider a video to discuss using henna on wavy hair? The hair community seems to be split on the use of henna and I am curious if it might be a safe and healthy way for those using CGM to have color options for their wavy locks! Thank you for considering this!
Have you tried the Aussie Miracle Waves line?? It only has shampoo and conditioner though. But then use the Aussie Curl oil and Detangling milk for light styling. Amanda Castillo did this, and I’m curious how it would work for you! And your input!
You mentioned that your hair felt "siliconey" or "plastic" because of the silicones. That is so funny b/c silicones don't do that to my hair. My hair just feels soft and smooth. I guess it is like we say, everyone's hair is different.
That is so true! It’s amazing to me how different peoples hair response to the same products. I’m so glad that silicones make your hair feels smooth. That’s awesome!
*Sprunch Mousse + Leave In* . My fine, low density 2B wavy hair loves this product. It's my go-to for refreshes. A mist of distilled water, a few dollops of mousse, air dry and fluff. I found several of the Aussie shampoo and conditioners too heavy but I love the Sprunch on damp hair.
I tried following the curly girl method a few years ago. What a mistake. My hair hated it and never looked good. I persisted for quite awhile determined to make my curly hair look and feel decent. Finally I gave up, and returned to blowing it straight (as you can see in my pic...lol). Spring and humidity come around and I just couldn't keep it straight. So I just started experimenting with different products and discovered that sulfates, silicones and certain alcohols were miracle ingredients for my hair. It's the curliest and best feeling hair I've ever had. And it's healthy to boot! I have always been a person who believes that you have to do what works for you. Love these videos except I'm then buying more products to try...lol...sigh
Didn’t you do a this with a single foam styler in your “short and sweet” wash day (4 years ago)? I’m wondering if you think results would be similar to this with other foams/mousse or this one seems better for a quick routine?
Oh my goodness! That would be a really fun routine to try! Really the main difference between these two routines would be the application. It would be fun to test out how application would affect the performance of the sprunch mousse & leave in conditioner!
I used Aussie until I found CG. Don’t follow CG anymore. I follow you, manes by mell and curly fit mom now. I need protein and glycerin. Do you know of products you could do a wash day on. Ty

Courtney - would you consider a video to discuss using henna on wavy hair? The hair community seems to be split on the use of henna and I am curious if it might be a safe and healthy way for those using CGM to have color options for their wavy locks! Thank you for considering this!
Love the results with the products, and love your natural color. 👍🌹
Thank you so much!
Have you tried the Aussie Miracle Waves line?? It only has shampoo and conditioner though.
But then use the Aussie Curl oil and Detangling milk for light styling.
Amanda Castillo did this, and I’m curious how it would work for you! And your input!
The new verb ghost air dry whip is amazing for air drying
I love the beach waves look.
Thank you! 🌊🌊
Ohh I can see this being good for refresshing!
Would love to see a one-brand Wash day of JVN products on your hair!
I have very thick, dense, wavy hair. I have been using Aussie for years. I try to go away from it and always come back.
i LOVE sprunch!! and your content, so this video was so much fun 😅
Awe, thank you!
I'm so excited for beachy waves Courtney! :D
Thank you! I do love a good beachy look too!
Would love more thoughts on their other stylers
Have you ever tried the Seen brand? They have a fragrance and fragrance free option.
I will have to dry that leave in conditioner
Courtney your videos always make me laugh 😂
Yep! Every wash day is different! The awesome things about waves/curls is there is versality!
Can I just wash my head with any type of shampoo and only use foam?
Aussie gel is the best hard hold gel!!!
It is a great gel!
Nice beachy waves
The Aussie shampoos and conditioners have the itchy M’s in them in Canada 😢
ugh!
This is great have you tried the next of us brand?
I will look into them thanks!
Does this have a strong scent?
No, the fragrance is good and light. It’s not overpowering at all.
Great video
Didn’t you do a this with a single foam styler in your “short and sweet” wash day (4 years ago)? I’m wondering if you think results would be similar to this with other foams/mousse or this one seems better for a quick routine?
Oh my goodness! That would be a really fun routine to try! Really the main difference between these two routines would be the application. It would be fun to test out how application would affect the performance of the sprunch mousse & leave in conditioner!
*orders sprunch stat*
I used Aussie until I found CG. Don’t follow CG anymore. I follow you, manes by mell and curly fit mom now. I need protein and glycerin. Do you know of products you could do a wash day on. Ty
You could try anything that has proteins on the label or on top of the ingredients list, and most shampoos from what I can tell have glycerin.
