Hey Courtney! Beautiful video!!!Very aesthetically pleasing! 😍 I love your results! I am a type 4 natural coily/curly girl and I rarely ever use leave ins either and I always get bomb results when I don’t, regardless of the product! Moisturizing and protein infused wash day products do make a big difference too! Looking forward to seeing you try this method again with other products! Also I love a talk through video! 🙌🏾🫶🏾
i am so excited to know that if you don’t put a curl cream under your gel you get more cast and longevity - game changer; this is what i have been looking for 🎊 thank you courtney!
Hey Courtney, your technique is what got my wavy curly niece to love her natural hair. You are right about the gel. They must have changed it. I'm definitely going to pick it up again. I think you discovered gold. That hair mask is bae and you really only need one styler after using it. So curious to see if the method is the trick or just those products. 🥰
I have extremely fine hair but more curly- but this def caught my attention as a find SO many curly products weigh my hair down. I had the holy grail for me personally and have always been a one product user, but as my hair grays and thins out more, the frizz is starting to plague me again/my fav products not working the same. Even though my texture is diff from Courtney’s I’m also curious if it’s the brand or the combo/method that obtained the results on this video. I’m back to see more in the future.
Love your videos! I prefer the talk through format. Seems like you are able to share your thoughts more freely in the moment. Also, I feel like we get a better sense of time it takes to do things because there is less cutting/editing/fast forwarding.
Can’t wait to see if this works on other one brand wash days. Your results were truly awesome and your day two hair was gorgeous. You are amazing as always. Love everything about you and your videos.
Great results Courtney! I have a similar curl pattern, texture and length as you have and having a little more layers cut into my hair has been a game changer! I get more "real" curls on wash day and they slowly loosen (but are still curly) over the next few days. I'll never go back to one length cuts, having layers is so much more curl-friendly for me!
Courtney, the 2-step conditioner technique of working it in and then adding more water before squishing has changed my hair life. Immediate curls. No need for leave-in. Just gel and I’m done. BTW: I am a slightly crunch girl. I feel like my low-porous curls need a little more coating. Thank you!
Holy Moly girl!!! That is some serious curls. As Fellow wavy, those are the kind of curls I dream about getting every wash day. Might have to check out this Briogio stuff!! I guess it's really true that the right products makes all the difference.
Your hair looks gorgeous and I will definitely be trying the routine you did. Do you have a video please where I can see how you put your hair up in a scrunchie to go to bed and what type of scrunchie you use? Thanks. Take care. Fiona, United Kingdom. xxxx
I have thick, coarse, low porosity hair so I wouldn’t use the shampoo or conditioner if they’re protein rich, but I’m curious to try the gel now after hearing you mention that was the hardest hold cast. I tried copying your routine as far as the brush styling upside down and I was pleasantly surprised. I think my hair forms huge clumps so I bet that is why I wasn’t getting a cast. I think the wide tooth comb is a must! God bless you for all this effort in the one brand washes. The comparisons are amazing! I’m curious how long you plopped for, and if you needed to add more gel afterwards?
I purchased the Briogeo Curl Charisma travel-size kit a couple months ago and my fine, silver/gray, wavy hair loves it! The kit didn't include the gel, so I'll have to pick it up soon. 😬 Thanks for the demo and for the _discovery_ of possibly skipping a leave-in, when using a deep conditioner (a concept I had never heard of before)! Brilliant! 👏🏻
Very nice! I tried travel size of Briogeo for the first time over Thanksgiving travel, and was also impressed with how much my hair loved it. I need to get full size when I run out of my current hair products (Twist brand, which my wavy-to-ringlet combo hair also loves).
Always love your videos! I have now been watching them for two years. I started my hair journey when my husband and I moved to Oklahoma two years ago. I just told him I feel like you are my wavy hair friend.😂 yet swing curl clump method has changed my results and I now style only using that method! I really want to try these products now but am also curious about trying the technique you used as well. Also as a fellow Christian thanks for also sharing your faith! ❤😊
Beautiful results! I personally don’t use a leave in conditioner or curl cream, because I have found that I get a lot less definition and it weighs my fine wavy hair down. However, I’m guessing most of why you had such a different result is because Briogeo reformulated that gel at some point over the past couple of years. It used to be my absolute holy grail, and I went through tubes upon tubes of it. Then they reformulated it and now it’s like gorilla glue to me, and I cannot use it. I’ll be curious how you like it over time. But you are definitely not misremembering; the original formula did not give a cast like the new formula does.
I bought a sample set of these products, and its really an excellent product line! I use Curlkeeper on wet hair and follow it with their leave-in defining creme...its cut down on the frizz big time!
Hey Courtney! Wow, that’s some amazing results, think I might try those products and method myself, since I hate how much time (and money) it cost to do the WHOOOOLE long routine . Btw, love when you do the talk through instead of voice over, since you tend to be more excited when you do that, and tell us all those small details like smell etc. because you say it as you experience it and don’t have to try and remember what it felt like after. And love you videos btw🤩
So lovely, thank you for this vid! I've recently got really into Briogeo - I love regularly using their Don't Despair, Repair! Mask (like you used here) and I find it works pretty fast so you don't necessarily need to leave it on for the full 10 minutes anyway. I also love their charcoal scalp scrub 'shampoo' to keep my scalp happy on clarifying days. It's gentle enough to use every week if I wanted. I'm also loving their new green density line - the scalp drops have definitely helped with some baby hair regrowth, and the shampoo is just lovely (also CG friendly!). I think it is very similar to the volumizing shampoo you used here. I would definitely recommend them both to you!
Ok after oohing and aahing your results I had to try the no leave in trick with a gel that never gave me a cast. I am diffusing at this minute, about 75% dry and have an amazing cast! I am shook 😱
Hi Courtney! I just binged watched a few of your one product use reviews & I must say you gave this product a totally satisfied reaction. Your face truly lit up with the end result. That cast & curl formulation is a 10/10 in my opinion. I'm definitely going to try this line. I hope to light up just like you!! ❤
Leave-In Conditioner has been my best friend since I bleached and highlighted my hair, alongside bonding treatments and curl cream. I felt like I didn't need any of that when I had virgin low porosity hair but used them anyway, just to maintain any form of moisture I could possibly get. I'm also fine haired so protein treatments are also a BFF of mine, especially beings I have high porosity hair now. I would incorporate one into my routine every once in a while with my virgin hair too. Awesome video as usual!
I love this video and thought I would try Briogeo. I have 2(b)(c) hair. WOW, I have to thank you for this video because these products really WORKED on my hair. My hair is thin, grey and I have a lot of hair. I finally found a product that produced results. The shampoo lathered a lot and the deep conditioner was great as well, but I fell in love with the frizz control gel and I also bought the oil for finishing. The oil is very light. I was concerned it would make it greasy, but it tamed the frizzies. YAY. Thank you again.
How do you get your hair all up in a scrunchie when it's that short. Mine is a tad longer then yours and it won't all go up on top of my head cause it's not long enough...
I used a really small amount of this gel (maybe a quarter size) with the Kenra All Curl leave-in and a small amount of the Effortless Waves. This was the first time since I’ve started this journey 6 months ago that I’ve actually had waves that stick around longer than an hour. No crunch to scrunch, but maybe next wash day I’ll be braver and use more gel. I’m going to pineapple and see what it looks like in the morning!
You are so darn cute. Great results!!! I'd love to see an updated video about why you chose curly hair friendly products. I'm specifically curious to hear if you have tried any silicone since the highlights, and if you think it's been useful to include some now.
A gel I started experimenting with is Generic Value Product line at Sally's. Inexpensive, thin gel with great glide and scrunchability for decent hold. I was pleasantly surprised. They also make a setting lotion which I use to help hold my curly hair in place without the weight.
Hey Courtney!🤗 Your hair came out great! Like you, I've been thinking on skipping on leave-in & creams or just going very light on them, because they do hinder the gel from forming a cast. But I have to use them because I have so much of them. lol😆
I use the green Briogeo mask with my regular conditioner on a regular basis and love it. Definitely going to have to try no leave-in or cream and just a gel soon! It’s been a minute since I’ve done that.
Some of my best results have been only using gels and leaving out the creams. Also like the 3 gel technique. I have fine, thin, wavy curly 73 y.o. i will still use leave in cause I have so much of it! My hair likes protein in my conditioner too. AG VitaC (rinse out) conditioner has helped me with elasticity.
Love your videos I have learned so much from you along my journey with my new found wavy hair I'm almost 2 yrs into this but now I'm focusing more on ingredients instead of just getting my hair to wave which took over a yr could you do a video all about silicones I'm finding them in all the conditioners in my country I moved to and want to use amidomethicone in general I hear it not water soluble but doesn't build up so is it a good choice I'm lost cause most other conditioners that don't cost an arm and a leg here have dimethicone which is bad
WOW! I will try leaving my leave in out the next time to see if I get this results! I usually get good day 1 hair but as soon as I sleep on it it gets more beach waves. I feel so bad when I buy something and turns out it doesn’t work out though :( which I know is part of finding what works for you ❤
I would love to see how you protect your hair at night now that it is shorter. I cut mine a similar length, and it it too short to pineapple. I am lost.
I didn’t love the curl charisma line when I tried it a few years ago. It was too protein heavy for my hair. However my hair has changed and I’m more comfortable reading ingredients now so I’m circling back around to it. Also if you want to tiptoe into the brand they frequently have deluxe travel size at TJ Maxx of the deep conditioners, leave-in, and shampoos.
I don't much like the shampoo and conditioner in the curl charisma line and the curl cream is Meh for me but that gel has been my ride or die for a few years!! It's the one thing I always repurchase ❤ It works really well in my hair with AG recoil cream.
THAT looked good Courtney! I having been enJOYing your videos more so lately because of your admission that we don’t have to follow all the so called rules. I will so be trying to go without a leave-in conditioner on my next wash day. Thank you for what you do!
Sorry if you already answered this question but just wondering how your day 3 hair held up? 🤔 let us know. Your hair as always looks beautiful. But you're right it looks incredible. Wonder if it's skipping the leave in. If so I may have to test that out also. Thanks Courtney 🙂
I have not tried leaving out all the before gel products. However my white hair is dry and I go a whole week in-between washdays and think it needs the moisture to last that long. Interesting idea.
The briogeo leave in is a a tad heavy for wavy hair! I haven’t tried the mask but it’s got amazing reviews. I must say that squish to condish was my favourite part of this video
I'm curious if you would have a similar result if you skipped the leave in conditioner in some other product lines as well? I'm going to try this on my next wash day!
So.... how do you think this gel compares to the old Biosilk Rock hard Gelee? My hair loved that stuff this looks nice and thick and proteiny and hard hold like that one.... thoughts??
I've never used the shampoo but I have the Don't Despair Repair and my hair doesn't like it at all. The gel I've also used and dried out my hair terribly. The whole Curl Charisma line dried out my hair. I have long, fine, wavy hair and I have discovered through much use and error that my hair is protein sensitive so I wouldn't recommend these at all if you have that particular issue
I can’t skip the double cleanse. My hair is just so thick I have to use so much shampoo to get it to feel clean but I don’t have to worry because the second cleanse I can use way less and get everything else out
You should check out The Blowout Professor videos. Game changer! He says everyone should be doing double washes - the cleaner your hair, the more suds on the second wash. Cheap shampoos make "fake" suds. His product recommendations are amazing! He teaches so much about proper hair care whether you blow out your hair or not. Chech him out.
Hi Courtney I'm new to my waves and I'm trying to go CGM. Whenever I see a one brand wash day I get excited then think " yes I'll get them" only to find not CG approved. I need to do CG M at the moment as my waves are just so dry , frizzy and I need to get my hair in better condition.Could you please do a wash day only using CGM products for wavy hair. PLEASE🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I'm having trouble establishing a protein moisture balanced routine... would you say this is protein heavy? or balanced? I thought all 3 of these products had a lot of protein?
Was your hair lower porosity last time you used the products? That would definitely make a difference as far as the cast if your hair was lower porosity last time you used the briogeo line
Any tips on how to not get flash drying with the gel?? I have really been struggling with getting a cast in my hair these last few months, so I tried out this gel with high hopes. Every time I have tried using it, it flash dries my hair. I’ve tried layering it with a leave in or enhancer, I’ve tried it as a single styler, but same results… flash drying and not hold.
I’m curious to know what results you would get with the same products but adding the leave in conditioner??? Please??? Just wondering if that’s the magic or not
I would love to know if you feel like these products continue to perform well for you over multiple wash days and if you continue to like them. I'm interested in the idea that maybe I don't need a curl cream!
Do you want freedom from frizz? ➡ bit.ly/freedomfromfrizz
Hey Courtney! Beautiful video!!!Very aesthetically pleasing! 😍 I love your results! Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it.
Beautiful! Yeah the CGM really pushed so many products. I just use shampoo and curl cream, or shampoo, conditioner and gel. Less is more for me too.
Interestingly I watched a CGM video recently and only 3 products were used in the demos.
Love the idea of no leave in conditioner! I would love to see that with other lines as well! Thanks for creating this video for us❤
Can’t wait to see if this works on other one brand wash days. Your results were truly awesome and your day two hair was gorgeous. You are amazing as always. Love everything about you and your videos.

Ah okay! Interesting!
This wash day looks amazing and your short hair looks so cute!! 😍😍😍
I did the 3 product routine and it was amazing! Need to practice the brush styling but the results were great! Now to see how day two turns out.
I like when you do talk throughs. And on my word that day two was to die for.
I bought a sample set of these products, and its really an excellent product line! I use Curlkeeper on wet hair and follow it with their leave-in defining creme...its cut down on the frizz big time!

I would love to see another video where you try this method with other products to see if you get similar results (skipping leave in)!
We have very similar hair types and was wondering if you’d discover what I discovered pretty early on-No cream or leave-in! Welcome to the club!
Leave-In Conditioner has been my best friend since I bleached and highlighted my hair, alongside bonding treatments and curl cream. Yay! I really loved the products as well! So glad they worked so well. And good to know about how the oil is! Thanks for sharing!
Best yet with your new 'do!! You've got a great look going on there..... Thanks for the demo!!
How do you get your hair all up in a scrunchie when it's that short. Mine is a tad longer then yours and it won't all go up on top of my head cause it's not long enough...
Love the haircut you are adorable and it was fun to watch this technique. Would love to see how you plop and for how long.
Beautiful! I love how this held up. My day 2 has been falling lately!
Love it! You’ve got me thinking of skipping the leave in as well.
Would love to see you try JVN products! The air dry cream is chef's kiss.

Thank you!! 😊 Me too!
Awesome video! The speak-through was really informative! I think I prefer it over voice-over. Great results!
Oh good! Thank you for the feedback too!
Look at those ringlets coming through😍😍😍
I didn’t love the Curl Charisma either. Love the cast and Love your results!😊
I adore the don't despair repair deep conditioner! I also have their curl charisma curl cream, but haven't tried that yet...
Loved the products!!!
Hair looks great. Love the Briocheo products.👍🥰
WOW! I will try leaving my leave in out the next time to see if I get this results! I usually get good day 1 hair but as soon as I sleep on it it gets more beach waves. I feel so bad when I buy something and turns out it doesn’t work out though :( which I know is part of finding what works for you ❤
Looks so good. Better than LUS one product wash day. Like you, I tried the Briogeo gel awhile ago too and got no cast. I'm curious to try this.
Yes! Love budget friendly products! Thanks!
Oh nice!!!
Great video! Can you please review the Umberto Giannini curl jelly?
I don't much like the shampoo and conditioner in the curl charisma line and the curl cream is Meh for me but that gel has been my ride or die for a few years!! It's the one thing I always repurchase ❤ It works really well in my hair with AG recoil cream.
THAT looked good Courtney! I having been enJOYing your videos more so lately because of your admission that we don’t have to follow all the so called rules. I will so be trying to go without a leave-in conditioner on my next wash day. Thank you for what you do!
Thank you!
Sorry if you already answered this question but just wondering how your day 3 hair held up? 🤔 let us know. Your hair as always looks beautiful. But you're right it looks incredible. Wonder if it's skipping the leave in. If so I may have to test that out also. Thanks Courtney 🙂
Now I’m gonna have to try skipping the leave in conditioner on my next wash day too! 😍
I have not tried leaving out all the before gel products. However my white hair is dry and I go a whole week in-between washdays and think it needs the moisture to last that long. Interesting idea.
Ooh! I just cut my hair this length too! 😁
The briogeo leave in is a a tad heavy for wavy hair! I haven’t tried the mask but it’s got amazing reviews. I must say that squish to condish was my favourite part of this video
Thank you!!!
Briogeo is a brand I have never tried.
Idk even your before “greasy” hair looks cute😊.
But end result is very nice.
LOL thanks!!!
Epic results!!!!!
I'm curious if you would have a similar result if you skipped the leave in conditioner in some other product lines as well? I'm going to try this on my next wash day!
Same! So interesting! Gonna try to do a leave in treatment like she did and rinse it out and skip the leave in!
As a fellow wavy, I feel like if you straighten or let it go wavy, it always looks the same come wash day
oooh i'm gunnahave to check out their gel!
This was awesome results!! Now I wanna try some new techniques for my wash day today 😂
Hope it works well for you as well!
Briogeo is my favorite one ever!
I loved this line! Wow!
Looks great!
So.... how do you think this gel compares to the old Biosilk Rock hard Gelee? My hair loved that stuff this looks nice and thick and proteiny and hard hold like that one.... thoughts??
I bought this gel after seeing your results. Thinking about charisma defining cream, any wavy girls happy with this cream or is it too heavy ?
I've never used the shampoo but I have the Don't Despair Repair and my hair doesn't like it at all. The gel I've also used and dried out my hair terribly. The whole Curl Charisma line dried out my hair. I have long, fine, wavy hair and I have discovered through much use and error that my hair is protein sensitive so I wouldn't recommend these at all if you have that particular issue
Ah intersting! Thanks for the feedback!
I can’t skip the double cleanse. My hair is just so thick I have to use so much shampoo to get it to feel clean but I don’t have to worry because the second cleanse I can use way less and get everything else out
Can you please make a video of how you plop your hair. I have the same length but my hair always comes out weird when I plop
Please try mane choice in the same kind of style u did here.
Hi Swavy Curly Courtney, tell me more about not doing CGM exactly?? I struggle with all their rules 😬
PLEASE🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Always supposed to shampoo twice as I learned in cosmotology. Ever hear "lather, rinse, repeat"??
Killer wash day!
Agree! Thank you!
Tip....skip the leave-in conditioner on wash day--save it for day 3 when your ends are moody
Try mop top again please
What a great wash day!
Thank you!
Gel works so well for me but I’m now scared to use it because it dried my hair out so much.
Do you use a detangling comb
How long did you plop for? I thought you were skipping that now with short hair?
I’m curious to know what results you would get with the same products but adding the leave in conditioner??? Please??? Just wondering if that’s the magic or not

How does it smell? I'm sensitive to fragrance too.
I would love to know if you feel like these products continue to perform well for you over multiple wash days and if you continue to like them. I'm interested in the idea that maybe I don't need a curl cream!
I use this gel and I think yours might have turned bad a bit if you've had it awhile. Mine isn't that dark or that thick out of the bottle.
Interesting thanks!
Awsome video
Thank you!
Soooo how was day 3?!!
Will this not work if you air dry your hair?
My hair takes longer to dry with stylers when air drying. Plus, diffusing helps with definition! But, I do air dry, especially with no stylers!
