I had rotator cuff surgery 15 years ago. I have plenty of strengrh in my arm. My only weakness is if my arms is fully extended at 90° and you push down I have some weakness. Other than that i have full function and 140° of mobility. Will that give me an issue? I've never had any problems operating anything I've needed to including the school buses I've been driving for the last 6 years.

on average how long does a DOT exam take or should take? is there such thing as doing too much or overdoing an exam?

Had a recent shoulder injury. It was from a falling accident several months ago. It looks like I have shoulder impingement. Will they check for that during the physical?

I would check to see if you could use your extremities to safely operate a motor vehicle.

What if one eye is nearsighted when the other is closed but both work fine when together because I know if they tell me to cover my good eye my nearsightedness eye cannot the chart well

you need to be able to pass the vision exam as it is show in my vision specific video. If not you could qualify under the alternative vision standard.

My neurologist want to ween me off my anti siezure medications. Since I've been siezure free on medications for 4 years should I wait a year or 2 off my anti siezure meds before pursuing?

How are hernia exams performed in the dot physical?

They would be performed by palpation of the area in question.

I'm an NP. I just completed a course and plan to test for certification. I will be opening my own practice site. I know that drug testing is not required for DOT examination, my question is this something you would recommend offering initially for a new practice?

Not necessarily. For those with a BMI in the 30's or neck size over 12 inches some providers want a sleep study done before certification
