If you have white coat syndrome.. go to a primary doctor and have a simple blood pressure check and print out...that simple recorded blood pressure result from another doctor will show your lower blood pressure this will help your CDL medical examiner determine you are just feeling a bit nervous. It will definitely help you relax. Do this a month or 2 weeks before your CDL medical exam. Just having record of a low blood pressure also shows that you have a doctor and you are trying to resolve the issue and not needing medication
I've always had trouble with the cpap compliance. I'm glad they relaxed that. Because it never impaired my driving if i failed to use it a few days in a row. Ofcourse I'm a local driver so I'm never driving more than 2 hours at a time between stops.
Question about the urine sample for DOT. I’m one of those people with shy bladder and am really excited about the prospect of not having to provide urine for our random drug tests anymore due to the saliva test being added. Will there be an alternative test for the DOT medical exam as well? I’ve always thought diabetes could be tested for in several ways that does not require a urine sample.

Now the examiner wants me to have a stress test it’s never been a issue in the pass. I now have to find a new cardiologist as mind has moved on. And I don’t have health insurance I’ve always done self pay trying to get an appointment within the three months period that this young examiner wrote it for is going to be a challenge a best any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
Been on methadone maintenance for years for sud disorder that is currently in remission. I am currently a courier for a local company have my class E and drive a sprinter van and deliver packages for 10+ hours a day with 0 issues. I passed their backround check and drug test with a note from my methadone presciber with no problem at all. My question is would I just rinse and repeat for my dot physical and medical card for obtaining a cdl? Lemme know thanks...
hey guys and gals, Sleep apnea is at the dr.'s discretion. It doesn't matter your weight, bmi or neck size. It's all a kickback for the insurance companie's, Dr's office's and mega trucking companie's. Also, doesn't matter if you're skinny or fat. They will say you have sleep apnea regardless. ( THERE'S NO FEDERAL REGULATION FOR SLEEP APNEA AND FMSCA) We don't sleep during the day while we drive LOL. Do your research. No trucking company or dr's office will pay 5,000 dollars for an actual sleep test (at a hospital) they put a phony thumb device on your thumb and boom, the next day you have "sleep apnea". What I am trying to say is work a local driving job. Stay away from mega carriers.

I passed everything and at the end they failed me because my BMI was over 40(neck was just under 17") Are they more than likely working off of the old regulations? Should i consult them with this info before taking the home sleep test (which is $200)?

My concern is that I didn’t pass the DOT physical exam because apparently I’m red-green colorblind which is totally new for me because I never had a problem related to color blindness before. I know there are corrective lenses for color blindness (Enchroma glasses) but my question is… Are these Enchroma glasses allowed in the DOT physical exam? Or Do I have a chance to get a CDL being red-green colorblind? (I can recognize red, green and amber)

Im scheduled for a Non-DOT Urine (Pre-Employment, Not Observed) and a DOT Physical Exam. I see that a urinalysis is done during a DOT exam. Does this mean im taking two different samples or one sample with different tests ran?
What if someone had a mild sleep apnea result and now they are having trouble getting their med card due to confusion on using their new cpap machine. Can they retake the sleep test and go to a new dot physical doctor and give them the new sleep study results with it being that the patient doesn't have sleep apnea how would that work or could it work??? Please help
I have had a similar issue, I think they og doctor wanted the results. 3 month med card. Went to different spot, approved for 2 years. I only pointed out that I have done one and that no way in hell I'm doing that study. I was approved 😆 My advice is to keep getting extensions until fully approved. The company paid for mine, medical costs are tax deductible plus it is a work expense also or get it reimbursed through company. Just keep going for extensions or until clean pass, plus go jog 3 times a week if it's an obesity issue on the side
Will someone on medication for rheumatoid arthritis be automatically disqualified or will that change anything in the qualification process? For instance if its under control and patient has no problems as long as medication is taken daily and as prescribed by doctor? Patient already works a physical demanding job landscaping and land clearing without any issues.

You will pass.....BUT you wont get the 2 year certification, they'll only certify you for 1 year OR 6 months .

you can always see another medical examiner to see if they agree with the initial assessment.

I had tested positive for methadone and had to get a note from doctor but now I have my CDL A and I hear I’m not gonna be able to drive on methadone

Each Dr. is entitled to order any exam they like even if it is not technically required.
