Comment on the external battery bank: Look up the output of the battery, most low price ones, even if they're of good quality and have good capacity, top off at 5V and 2-3amps for a total of 10-15watts of output. That is more than fine for a phone even while under heavy use, but the steam Deck does need at least a 20watt (so 5volts, 4amps) charger to be able to charge while in use, otherwise it might actually still drain even while charging if you're using it to game. Basically any battery bank will work if the steam deck is off or sleeping though, so you could still use pretty much any old external battery you have lying around to give it a bit of extra juice between play sessions if you don't have an outlet handy.
Want to add another note to this: if you plan on flying most airlines have a limit of about 27000 mah, you can bring 2 20000 mah batteries while flying

i really do not recommend using a screen protector with the 512gb version it looks horrible with the non reflecting screen. I tried two different brands one had a more frosted texture but it lead to heavy washing effect with the colors and the other clear one just gave a lot of reflections which made the non reflecting screen pointless.
I've been using a screen protector since day 1 on my 512 and it looks fine. Yes, it's a little annoying the few times I've used this thing under direct sunlight (almost never because I usually play in-doors or in my car). But at least glare goes away when you move around or change position. Scratches don't. No matter what excuses you give, at the end of the day, your excuses aren't going to protect my screen from being scratched. If I was confident enough to open up the Deck and install a 512 nvme drive, I would have bought the 64gb model and upgraded it myself. But many of us are NOT confident to even open up the Deck, let alone remove and install parts of it. Even the confident people doing this are breaking their SD cards because they forgot to remove it. So we buy 512 gb and slap a screen protector on it. All my other handheld devices have scratched up screens and I've regretted not using screen protectors just because I didn't want to spend money on them.
@@Goldie_Roger yes you are correct but for all the people who like to switch out parts you can order the non reflecting screen on ifixit like every replacement part for the deck The plans for it are open available i use the jsaux backplate with the awesome long back buttons.. i think when replacement parts are available and there is a bag for it its not a big deal to get some scatches.. at least for me. @@Goldie_RogerI understand you need to use a screen protector. As you stated, your other devices have scratches on them. But if you’re like me it would only make the quality of your deck worse. I’ve had a switch for years with no scratches or screen protectors. Same as my current phone. I’m not wasting the anti glare on my new 512gb deck model by putting a screen protector on it. The degrade in image quality just isn’t worth it FOR ME. But for others it might be if they’re more prone to damaging their devices.
Screen protector may come with a caveat if you got the 1TB model that has a matte anti glare screen finish. Putting a regular screen protector on it will mess with the anti glare. Heard even a anti glare protector affects the visual.

@@Goldie_Roger yes you are correct but for all the people who like to switch out parts you can order the non reflecting screen on ifixit like every replacement part for the deck
The plans for it are open available i use the jsaux backplate with the awesome long back buttons.. i think when replacement parts are available and there is a bag for it its not a big deal to get some scatches.. at least for me. Everyone is different in this regard i am not a big fan to put a handheld in all kind of cases and screen protectors it makes the steam deck much bigger
Is there a big difference in performance between the 256gb and the 512gb?
My budget is for the 256
Nah no performance difference, some games run load faster from the internal drive vs an sd card , but that’s the main difference
Screen protector may come with a caveat if you got the 1TB model that has a matte anti glare screen finish.
Putting a regular screen protector on it will mess with the anti glare. Heard even a anti glare protector affects the visual.
Thanks for the advices mate, I'm still waiting for mine to arrive, I can't wait to play Cyberpunk and Black Ops 2 on it😅, keep it up bro🙋♂️
Even if a game is listed as “unsupported” doesn’t actually mean it won’t work. I already owners a few games listed as “unsupported” and they fun just fine.
What is the fps shooter game name which can play split screen multiplayer as shown on the video ?
call of duty black ops 3!
What are the texts on the side of the game when you start it? Like the gpu and the framerate and how do you turn it off?
It's a performance display , you can turn it off by the pressing the three dots button and pressing performance display
with this dongle can I connect a mouse and keyboard to the steam deck? cheaper than docking stations I’ve seen so I would like to get it
yup!
Great power bank Anker power core+ 26800 mah + 65w charger (to charge the power bank fast)
Mine just went black screen after two days and doesn't want to work

Thanks for all the tips! I just ordered the 256 GB version and now I'm also waiting for a SD card, the hdmi hub and long-ass USB cable hahah :)
Steam Deck games are everywhere! :D
I knew this day would come, I get to order a Steam Deck.
But would I get in trouble for ordering a Steam Deck with my account without playing games on my computer?
Why would anyone need a dock, if you you can connect your pc or console to a monitor or tv?
Mine turned up today :) new steam deck guy here always been a console player :) looking forward to the journey :)
How was your first day with the console? 😗
DOOM Eternal is the ultimate pick for offline single player game! Runs so well on the Steam Deck
You will laugh, but screen protections ready do the job. It realy saved my Nintendo Switch from cracking..
I wish I would’ve got the steam deck instead of getting a Nintendo switch oled. I really don’t know why I did but I’m gonna make up for it by getting a steam deck
Great review
Will the screen protector make so I can’t use touch screen?
you can still use the touch screen
I’m watching these videos like I bought a steam deck lol. insane hardware
I wanna know how he got black ops 3 to run so well on the steam deck. I feel like it never runs perfect 90% of the time

You were so fast - where do i find the verified settings? first time vidio game player.

Do my pc saves carry over on to the steam deck?
Yes. Well almost all. I think any game that uses cloud save will carry over. I only have 1 game that didn't carry over, Scarlet Nexus.
Can u play gta 5 story mode offline???
Yes and no,
you need internet to launch the game but not to actually play story mode
@@ahal9201 thx
100% put a screen protector on, 100% put a case on, 100% charge it to 100%, do all those things before you even turn the deck on for the first time and you'll never get a single scratch on it.
Source: i do this with everything i get, nothing i own from new has ever gotten a scratch on it.
Me watching despite not having one
Can i play ages of empire 3 on the steamdeck
i dont have it :(
My PC cant stand a Chance against the Steam Deck so i love dis Maschine ❤
screen protector on the 500gb model MUST be matte, otherwise you just paid the extra money for no reason. I threw out my glass screen protectors because they were glossy finished. Get the Spiggen case with the lanyard, will stop you dropping it, more-so than bumping.
Nothing to do with the steam and of course you don't have to answer but what happened with your hand ?
birth defect
is this mans thumbs okay??
not really
@@sam.alexander.reviewsNah. It's more than ok brewski
Which Cod is zombies is that? Been wanting to play zombies on my deck!
I'm same, but don't know which cod plays well, I tried black ops 1 but wasn't very good
Cod black ops 3!
